Can anyone help me get started. I am really intrested in Diablo and I want to get started right away. I like to play Diablo.
So please help me!!!!

what help exactly do you need? hotkeys? tactics? what?
basicly diablo is clicking mosters, the faster you click - the faster they die :)
that's why diablo is SOOOOOO MUCH FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUN!!!
to get started just... choose a character, go, click ppl to talk to them or trade stuff with them, get out of town, click mosters to mke them die.
the red orb is your "life", if it's empty than u'r dead (hint: make sure it won't become empty!)
the blue orb is mana, if you played sc or wc than you know what energy is, mana is like energy, slowly refreshes and used to cast spells.
when you level up you can choose what states to train, imo balanced states are the best.
and you'll be able to choose skills, just move your cursor over the skill and read what it does, if you like it, press it, you can upgrade those skillz too, so don't just choose skillz you won't use, choose one skill that you know you'll use and upgrade it a lot, but don't forget to upgrade passive skillz too.
about missions, the people will tell you what to do, just... listen to them and do what they ask, why? cuz you'll be rewarded!!!
btw, in act1 mission 3, do the mission, it's important, cuz if you won't save cain he'll ask money for identifing items!
there is more, but as I said, click mosters, they'll die, when red orb begins to empty -> go back to town and heal, or if you cant, use the health buttols in your bely (by pressing their number).
you'll understand the rest while playing.
I hope it answered whatever you asked ;)
Yeah, We can't help you until you give us an actual problem or question.. BTW, you didn't need to make another thread for this.

Some good sites for information and more in depth strategy would be www.lurkerlounge.com and www.theamazonbasin.com/d2 and of course, here! Feel free to ask us questions you have while playing, and we'll answer to the best of our ability.

Ok, first of all, Original diablo, diablo 1, sucks ass at an unbelivible rate. Don't even bother wasting a minute playing that peice of crap. Just skip stright over to diablo 2, it's much more fun, not rediculously hard due to an inablilty to do anything over a turtles pace, it does'nt force you to face a stupid load screen every time you change dungeous (only different acts, of which there are 4 in original d2, and a fifth in the expansion.) and has alot better control and options that its precedor.
Basicly, once you start up, you choose your class. You can have 8 charicters on one account. Basicly, pick a class, try to use your skill points to specialize in only 2 or 3 different areas, perferably with synergies, or else you'll never get to hell mode. Act 1 is easy street. You can basically pick up any random weapon and start whooping ass with it. When you get to the end of act 1 however, like with andariel and beyond, you will actually have to start trying again :P
Anyways. I would suggest you try all the charicter classes. Paladin's have some nice combat moves, which take mana, but their specialty is auras. Auras give you bonuses depending on which one you have active. You can only have one active at a time, but they wont cost you mana, well, i think a couple do, but most are free and only work if you have one selected. Most of the auras will also give their bonus to any ally close to you.
Barbarians have combat skills, warcries, and weapon masteries. Weapon masteries, just basicly imporve how good they are with certain weapons. Warcries give a bonus like the palladins aura to anyone near him when he activates his shout.
Amazons, (my favorite), relley less on striaght out strength, then say the paladin and barbarian, and basically think about dexterity every 8 seconds. The amazon has some elemental attacks for her arrow skills, and lightining and poison attacks for her javalin skills, as well as some passives skills. Amazons are normally divided into javalin specializing, or bow specializing, with some passive skills thrown in to help. The passives for her, are abilities that gives her a better chance at dodging attacks, getting critical strikes, slowing down incoming enemy missles, and even summoning a powerfull valkeriye NPC. Bow-amazons are best to stay at long range and rain from afar while "tank-like" charicters deter and distract enemies. Javalin amazons are a bit of a gamble, either way, but they are the most versitile of any charicter.
Sorceresses are magic casters. They suck in physical attack, and their magic attacks are divided into fire, ice, and lightining attacks. This class probably requires the least explaining, and some of the most experience to use well.
Necromancers are like a male version of sorceresses, but deal poisen damages, non-elemental magic damages, can summon various types of undead creatures to aid him, and use curses, which, have different effects when used on enemies, whether it be weakining their defenses, or whatever.
Assassins are killer. They are a mix of a barbarian and a sorceress that acts like an amazon. They have marital arts skills, traps, and shadow techniques (passives). The martial arts area allows them to equip dual claws, and pull off some devestating martial arts attack combos, and can act as very nice skirmishers. The traps are some items they can place on the ground, and go off dealing lightining or fire damage to enemies when they come near, or shoot some sort of blade. Shadow techniques are alot like the amazon's passives, but allow the assasin to do like, increase her speed, coat her weapons with poison, summon a shadow-double, blind enemies, etc. You'll have to see. I have found the best assassin to utilze a specialty from each of these branches, one good martial art combo, a good trap, and a good shadow skill.
Druids are something a bit of a barbarian, a necromancer, and a sorceress. They can summon animals and plants to aid them, they can use mother nature's elements to deal elemental damage in the way a magic attack does, and they can shapshift into stronger forms, to deal out some pain that way. They can't use elemental attacks in creature form though, so remember that.
Consult the book that came with your game for a better understanding of the classes.
Other than that, experiment, find a class you like, find a combination of skill trees, and statistic builds that works, and go for it. One bit of advice though, please, don't be one of those losers on battle.net who go around asking for free items, or asking for someone to help you beat a certain boss. If you can't get past a certain area on your own, (with the excepton of say, you are a pure fire elemental, and you run into one guy thats fire immune, as adversed to a whole act of fire immune badguys) then chances are, either your build is not "l33t", and you will have to start again, and try and make it better, or your equipment sucked, or was'nt very specific to the type of charicter you were trying for (in which case, just try to get some equipment that would compliment your charicter better), and try to make do until you get better stuff. If you can't get past a certain boss, level up and try again. Never skip a good chance for exp if you can at all help it. I myself dont understand why people want to be rushed all the way through the game so fast, saying they will level up when they get to the cow level, then wonder why they get slaughtered. Anyone?
I've been playing for a few months, so take this advice at your own risk. I am a fast learner though, so don't sell me too short.

I suggest if you have 0% experience, play single player first. Complete atleast normal and then get into battlenet. Then you won't be a complete noob when you enter the world. Then everything will eventually come as you play and ask others.
I agree, play single player through at least normal then go onto closed b.net. Never go into open b.net because it is full of hackers and duped items and there isn't much legit shit on there, so try and stay away.
When making a character make sure to put your skill points into a few skills and max those, and not throw them all around the board.. thats guarentees a shit character. For builds, just ask on of us or visit the Hall of Enlightenment. :)
