Your predominant weapon in Halo?

I gotta say for myself, it's gotta be the Pistol. I once thought that this weapon paled in comparison to the shotgun, sniper rifle, ect.... I turned out to be dead wrong. This weapon in my eyes is the best long-medium-and short-medium gun in the whole game. Reload time is quick, it packs a very heavy punch when hit in the head, the only downfall is the melee attack time it takes to pull off a hit. What's the weapon you allways go for in halo?

I'm a fan of the shotgun, but it takes a while to reload and is short range. Really kills them dead though :) I also like the Plasma rifle, no reloading more or less and it punches through shields really easily.

Plasma Pistol/Human Pistol is the best combo in the game, hands down. Overcharge the Plasma Pistol, take down their shields, then switch to the Human Pistol and take 'em down with a pair of rounds to the chest or head. ;)

Overall, though, the Human Pistol is my favorite weapon for the same reasons you mentioned, dunchy.

I'm sniper god.. takes me like 2 shots to kill most the time.. Okay, maybe thats a little over exaggerated, throw a few 3 shotters in there.. But I am really good at getting head shots. I am also what I like to call a "Field Sniper" and run around in the middle zoomed in and just kill that way.

Only bad thing about this is that I basically suck with all other weapons.

The pistol combo hands down... but if you have a wide open space and happen to be on foot? Watch out for the huge shadow that just appeared over your head...

I hate when people are ignorant like this. Vehicles are like any other gun or grenade you can pick up: A WEAPON. If the game designers didn't want you to kill with vehicles, they would have made it so you just automaticly jump out of the way or something. It's a part of the gameplay, get over it. The driver of a Warthog has only one weapon: the truck itself. Wise players don't just randomly drive around, they pick a target and run them into the ground.

My weapon of choice is probably the pistol, followed closely by a tie with the sniper rifle and plasma rifle. If you aim it right, a pistol can kill in 3 shots. Although its rare to happen, its still fun when someone's charging at you with an assault rifle to whip out a pistol and own them. On smaller levels though, like Wizard, I find the pistol to be near useless.

Your problem can easily be solved by getting a rocket launcher. If your playing in Blood Gulch, when you spawn, go to the portal as fast as you can, and only throw a few grenades, if you have them, near where the guy in the vehicle is, to scare him. Then go through the portal, and get the rocket laucher. Then just blow him up. Or another way is just get a pistol, and just keep shooting at him. It is pretty effective. Or of course, if your good with grenades, and you have access to the plasma grenade, then just throw it at the guy, and it's good game for him.

The pistol was my predominant weapon, but I have to say it was pretty cheap and unbalanced. It was too easy to kill with it. The second most predominant weapon for me would be the plasma pistol. I was unbelievably good with the plasma pistol. Most people hated that gun, but for some reason I could own with it.

I can somewhat agree with Moser in this case. A game is supposed to be fun, sometimes developers forget small parts of gameplay in multiplayer, there's too much to go over. Occasionally there's bugs in the game or small tricks players exploit a bit too much. A case of a vehicle on top of a teleport is such an exploit (in my mind) a little bit of exploit can be nice for a player who's a novice, or having a hard time with the higher class players, but when it's abused it makes the game boring and aggrivating. Those who just camp at a teleporter site with a warhog/tank/ghost arn't playing wise, they are simply cherry picking or making the game extremely frustrating for others.

I played a game like this, at the end both teams, yeah both, just hunted this kid down and kept killing him, including me. At the beginning of the game when the little punk kept laughing in glee whenever someone died without a battle, he loved it. After the team up against him, he threw the controller at the wall in rage and walked towards the kitchen. It wasen't his controller and he was kicked out, had to call mom for a ride home, and has not been invited for a game since (but everyone still is friends).

Doing tricks like that are cheap and aggrivating to everyone but yourself. Kinda like wall-hacking/map hacking in many games. Play the game to have fun, not to piss off everyone by performing dumb stunts.

Yeah, but putting a vehicle over a teleporter is pretty retarded by whoever does it. I mean, you probably are going to use it sometime yourself, and if you do you will just kill yourself. Or if someone does that, then just tell them to either move the vehicle or stop playing.

Not really. Atleast I never thought it sucked. But yeah, it pretty much freezes the player. In close range, I think this gun freezes the person a little too much. I hope they make it freeze you a little less in Halo 2.

It's a great gun, but many players will take the other guns over the rifle anyday, examples:

Long range: most folks take that sniper gun or use the pistol if they can't find one, it's hard to hit long range with the rifle.

medium-long range: still most will take that sniper, or perfer the sniper, others will use the plasma pistol for the homing feature in the gun.

Medium: most take the pistol I'm finding, or many kids like that assault rifle because it's a spew everywhere kind of gun to make sure the snipers/zooming pistol people don't zoom in on your.

close-medium: perfect range for the plasma rifle, but i'll use the rocket launcher/pistol combo anyday, even swap out to have a shotgun and go charging for the kill.

Close: shotgun/rocket launcher combo. makes mincemeat out of anyone.

So, with those ranges, I find it a hard time to find those taking the plasma rifle with the other weapons presented. it's great close - medium, but I find it easy to dodge the shots of the plasma pistol at medium or larger range. up close you need to be very mobile with that rifle I find for it to be effective, and when playing good players, that's hard to be, compared to close-medium.

For weapons, I say the pistol is easily my favorite. Packs a punch if you have good aim, and has a scope function. Good all-around. Second is the plasma rifle, which I prefer greatly to the awkward pistol. It's easy to use, and usually manages to just be generally overwhelming.

As for the running people over with vehicles, of course parking on the teleporter is no good, but as for anything else that isn't really exploiting a weakness in the game or anything, just get over it. Are people mad because it works? Because it's a good way to waste people? It's just another challenge to work around, and you can work around it very easily if you know what to do. Tossing grenades in front of you, getting right behind a tree or a rock, and staying on the opposite side from the vehicle (this is hilarious, I've done it many times, it pisses off the driver so much and he can't do a damn thing. He just keeps swerving all around the tree or rock and can't get to you.) or dodging it like a matador (easy to master if you practice it a while) are all perfectly viable tactics. As they say, if you can't take the heat, get out of the oven.

Playing under our normal game settings (no shields), it's hard to go wrong with the Human pistol (Covenant as a secondary option) and a shotgun. One hit kills with the shotgun and range with the pistol. I use the Sniper and rocket when I'm playing more for fun than for function.

Ive found that a good combo is the needler / shotgun. Use the needler to nail their shield and 2 shots from shotgun finishes them off :P

That's why he's got the Rocket Launcher, it's a good up close weapon, just gotta make sure to know when to shoot and where to shoot :)

Yes, but if your out of bullets in the other gun or something, and you are too close to snipe the guy on zoom, you have to shoot him unzoomed. Or if you are getting shot at too fast, to zoom back in, you must try killing him/her unzoomed. It's a skill that comes handy at certain times.

Human Pistol all the way hands down. You just can't beat it. Paired with a good plasma weapon like a plasma pistol and you got a two shot kill if you meet someone with an overshield!

lol, well that works too, but on Blood Gulch (Which sadly is the only online map in the demo) has the Active Camoflauge, and when your enemy is concentrated on something. You can nab the rocket launcher, run up to their out post, wait for them to climb in a warthog, or just run out and drop the hammer on them! Works 71% of the time!

Yea, but if the target is too far away it's easy to dodge a rocket, and if they're too close you can hurt yourself. Also if you consider only two shots per load and the long load times, the Rocket launcher is not the best killing machine.

Rocket launcher is best in certain situations. For example their is a cluster of enemies running around and you want to take them all out. SO you just fire at the ground beneath them and they all get hit by splash. Also rocket launchers are good against tanks. But other than that i use pistol for everything else.

AR is nice if you use it correctly, but the plasma pistol is much better than the rifle. It has a greater rate of fire and lasts longer. But the rifle is easy to use, so I know what you mean :)

Yea they've said they really turned the needler around in Halo 2 and from what I've seen in the demos I agree. The problem with the needler in Halo is that the shots move so freakin slowly, but if that's fixed it'd be an awesome weapon.

Yeah, you can run away from the needles, and if you run away for enough time, the needles blow up in the air.

I play Halo for the PC. I rarely snipe people, because I think it's just plain cheap. I will try to snipe enemy snipers though. I like the pistol, but it's still pretty cheap and easy to kill. All in all, I'd probably say the shotgun/plasma pistol, or just pistols if I can't get the shotgun. The fuel rod gun is pretty cool, if you can get it. And I've gotten some kills with the Needler. It's not that bad.

In single player, the plasma pistol is the best overall weapon, along with the shotgun for the flood. And when your playing on legendary, the Needler is one of the most useful weapons in the game, when used properly.

The main things I hate about Halo is that for the PC, there is a flamethrower included in multiplayer. It kills you way too easily, much easier than a close range shotgun blast, and I hate it. I also hate how it's so easy to kill people with vehicles. I mean, I tried jumping out of the way of the warhog, and my feet just grazed the side of the windshield. I never realized how fatal it is taking a hit to your foot. I mean, you can jump down from 20 feet in the air, but I'll be damned if I can survive this astonishingly light blow to the foot. And the warthog wasn't moving very fast. Plus the collision boundaries suck. I hate dying when there is a very noticable gap between you and the nearest corner of a vehicle.

The purpose of banshees is to add more fun to Halo. I joined a multiplayer game online, and me and 3 other people all had banshees. We ruled the skies, and we completely wasted the other team. After a while, they just started staying indoors, so our banshees couldn't get to them.

There was this one time, I completely owned a banshee when I was in a ghost. That was awesome. And there was this other time, somebody crashed into me (I had nowhere to run), and right before I died, I stuck a plasma grenade to his banshee, killing him back. Talk about a sweet revenge.

Banshees are pretty good if you know how to use them. I like make strafing runs with the plasma cannons and fire off the fuel rod cannon when I can make a good shot. It's quite deadly, but you take your chances when you get too close (plasma grenade, rocket launcher).

You could I guess, but most usually the person is able to come close enough to you to kill both of you. Or sometimes the person might chuck the plasma and hit you right back.
