Yes its true he was married years before the start of SC. He even had a child. Its a story with an unhappy and yet uncomplete ending. Lets see how many of you know the rest!

It wouldn't happen to be from the book "Liberty's Crusade" would it?

It is. He's been talking about it all over the boards.

Erm...Would that be an official Blizzard-written book that tells a 'true' part of the SC universe?

He is 39 it is very likely he was married at one time, but whoooooo cares?

Yes the source is Liberty's Crusade, and yes its an official Blizzard authorized book. But heres a kicker: Raynor and his wife had a kid and he was taken by the confederacy. Yes thats right, Raynor has a child thats still out their and is a ghost. Neet huh!

ooo sorry Relina,

it said in liberty's crusade that his son had an "accident" in training. so he might not be a ghost, he could be in a coma

Actually when the Confederacy says your child has an accident I'm not so inclined to believe them. Accident is just as easily code for joined the Nova Squadron and the like, who knows.

I didn't know that, no; an interesting point that could be used for some rather good plot twists later on.

Yeah, the kid is practically guaranteed to make a "return" in SC2.

His son got shot in Training Procedures

I think it's thaqt they have a group of Ghost Hopefulls in a room in a room and the last one standing gets to be a Ghost

And there's they make u shoot one of ur family to make sure u can hack it. And the make u execute a prisoner and a guard b4 the gaurd can shoot u

Oooo, good counter. But from the way the manual makes the ghosts sound so mysterious, I think the confederacy would say that that child was dead even if he/she did become a ghost.

you may see him in SC:G

Exactly; I reckon becoming a Ghost would require you to completely severe all connections to your friends and family and to pretend that you really don't exist. It isn't too hard to imagine the Confederacy covering up who their "secret specialists".

Raynor was married? Well, that sums up. As interesting as seeing Stukov getting whacked by disfigured cucumbers, Raynor was cheating his wife with... Kerrigan. J/K.

Wow, I never did know that! I wonder if that could *Raynor's son* could come in handy with a game like Ghost?

If you recall, in "Liberty's Crusade", Kerrigan shuddered or something about reading Mike's mind about Raynor's son. That kinda hit me as perhaps Kerrigan had some in sight of that particular event or I've been smoking too much crack. But I like the idea the the Confederates covered it up and who knows, maybe the Confedracy changed his name and the ghost in "Shadow of the Xek'Naga" was Raynor's son... probably not*burns entire stockpile of illegal drugs*
