So what Is your favorite shooter??

I was just wondering what everyones favorite shooting game or shootinng game series is.

My personal favorite is the Unreal series for its fast paced combat and variety of scenarios.

Mechwarrior, I like Unreal too.

The reason I like the mechwarrior series is because of BIG machines with BIG guns to cause MASSIVE damage to the surrounding area.

I like Unreal because of BLOOD and GORE! (So I guess Doom fits in with that catagory too:) )

Awww do we have to chose favorites? I'm tied between the Tribes series, Planetside (see siggy) and Battlefield 1942. Each one brings something unique, and they're all awesome. Who wouldn't want jetpacks anyway?

Hmm... FPS... I've played so many of them... Hmm, the best, let's see:

Medal of Honor (PlayStation) - I love it!!! Best atmosphere ever!
Quake 2 - means so much to all of us...
Doom 3 - great game, it really shows us what the games will be like in the nearest future...
Painkiller - so very atmospheric, plus great level design.
Half-Life - it's a damn masterpiece! Bow to HL!
Deus Ex - quite RPG-like and so very cyberpunk...
The Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay - If the game will be as good as the demo...
Half-Life 2 - ??????

Halo: Fun multiplayer, but single player gets a little repetetive.
Half-Life: Great game, but get's incredibly boring after beating it 5 times on hard difficulty
Call of Duty: Excellent graphics and gameplay. Very fun.
Unreal: Good graphics, but the game takes way too damn long to beat, and the trap rooms get boring after a while (walk into a room, doors lock behind you, enemies come out)
Jedi Knight / Outcast / Academy: Fun single player, but Academy has way too many lightsaber fights. Also very repetetive.
Unreal Tournament: Fun at first, but gets boring after a few weeks. Way too repetitive. Decent LAN game.
Counter Strike: Way too over hyped. Kind of boring to play. Also very repetetive.
Delta Force: Too buggy, fun at first, but annoying
Rainbox Six and other Tom Clancy titles: Interesting for a short while, then just plain annoying

Well If we are talking modern shooters, then I like "Deus Ex" and "Half-Life".

If we´re talking classics, then It´s definatly "The Ultimate Doom".

Battlefield 1942, followed by Halo.

BF1942 is, when you come right down to it, has much more depth than Halo. Halo, while incredibly fun, has some very repetitive combat (kill a million Flood, walk 100 yards, kill a million more Flood). BF1942 has bigger maps, destructible vehicles, and generally more strategic combat.

Has anyone played the cs mod "Natural Selection". You can take the role of a marine or a blood thirsty alien like ct or t. As you get more kills you level up which allows for various upgrades to help destroy the other teams base.

This game would be my favourite at the moment. (waiting for the arrival of the new doom) :P

I would have to say... Goldeneye! Followed by Perfect Dark and Halo. I liked them all because of the hours spent on them in multiplayer, whether it be Halo LANs, co-op Perfect Dark, or attempting to blow up the toilets with remote mines in Goldeneye (you could stack one helluva lot of mines in those toilets, let me reassure you ;) ).

CS was alright, but was too addictive, yet barely fun. Also, the online community sucks ass... everyone is either "OMG h4x!" or "STFU n00bcake!" (seriously, if you recorded a 'conversation' in-game, you wouldn't be surprised with my opinion of the online community at all). Sounds very much like B.net, although even that has some decent blood running through its veins.

I never really got into Doom, Quake, Half-Life or Unreal, because I was far more interested in strategy games or RPGs at the time of their success.

It's a half-life mod, not a CS mod. Counterstrike is a half-life mod as well... I'm in a CAL-O natural selection clan at the moment.

Yeah, I'm an avid Natural Selection player as well. I find the Aliens suit my playing style very well. :)

My other favorite shooter must be CS or Halo.

im like one of those other million peeps that still play counterstrike and enjoy every moment of takin someone heads off =)
