I've seen this at other forums and it's largely succesful, so I thought I'd present the idea here.

How would you guys feel about having a community account? A *WarBoards account, with the password PMed to anyone that asks (and has a substantial amount of posts, we don't want people wrecking havoc on our account) and everyone will be able to build characters.

If you have a certain idea or path that you want the character to take, post it in here and I'll have a set of rules for each character. Aside from these rules at the beginning (and I mean rules like elemental-only druid or no skill points used barbarian) the creator has no other power over the character, because this is the forums account/character, not one persons. Everyone can play any character, and you are to do whatever is in the characters best interest, as long as it doesn't break any of the creators rules.

What are your thoughts on this?

I think it's a great idea, althought I don't play on closed much, i'm in! :)

I think it will have alot of problems, the least of which people arguing over what screws up the character.

Still it sounds like a good idea, couldn't hurt to try. I don't play as much as I used to but let me know if you get it working eh?

I don't think it would be to much of a problem.. I mean, think about who would actually use it, the people who are in the diablo forum alot, which would be GrassDragon, Neo (dunno if he would use it) Ninja (maybe), Peace_Machine, and myself? If you ask me, we're all pretty trustable. :)

And even if we're not, it doesn't really matter. "Screwing up the character" is relative, maybe they just had different idea than you :P It wouldn't be the end of the world, just make a new character. I think it might be fun, you could play for a night, then come back a few days later and see that the character has progressed, maybe differently than you had thought it would.
