The first three chapters of my story will be released February 27, 2004. :) But until then, Enjoy Carnage's unfinished story, The Lost Angels.

Prologue

The young man who could be no more than 14 arose, not entirely of his own free will, from the bubbling, teal slime. Drops of sweat poured from his forehead and tears streamed from his eyes. Scientists scrambled to pull the dozens of suction cups from his chest and back. An oxygen tube was yanked from his throat and tight clips that kept his eyelids open were removed. He wasn't clothed when he came in and they didn't bother to cloth him as he was pulled from the tank and strapped to a steel table. He continued to cry. It was only a silent, gasping noise because of an implant that silenced his voice for safety reasons. The scientists injected the same chemicals and took the same recordings on his blood pressure, heart rate, and pulse.

However, unlike the many procedures before today, something unexpected happened...

The young man began to convulse and shake in such a way that the scientists looked across the table to each other in bewilderment. Suddenly, his right arm ripped free of the strap holding it to the table. With lightning speed, it broke through the rib cage of the closest man. Before he even hit the floor, the young man was free from the table and forcing another scientist to the ground. He slammed the full-grown man's skull to the floor over and over, actually cracking it. As all this was going on, the remaining scientists scrambled from the windowless, sterile room and slammed the titanium door behind them. The child threw his current victim like a rag doll against the closest wall and made for the door. He pounded it with his fists until they bled. Then, he touched the lump in his throat and gasped. He sobbed in silence, covering his pale face as the tears came again.

Not much time passed before security entered the room. Covered in full armor and armed with high voltage "cattle" prods, they subdued the boy and injected him with enough sedatives to put down a dozen men. As they carried his limp body from the room, one of the scientists approached a computer panel still caked with blood from one of his colleagues. He entered new data in the log.

Log Entry #349302
Date: 3940 A.T.P.

Experiment #120 has had some unexpected results. Subject #21[Codename: Satsurikutenshi] has reached a new stage. The injections of adrenaline have helped to speed the development of the test DNA. Of all the 30 subjects, only subject #21 and subject #14 have survived the experiments. They are dramatically different in "talent", but nearly identical in appearance. The Organization will not be pleased to know only 2 of 30 Homo Sapien Plurimi specimens will be joining their midst in 3 months, but results are results.

Studying his entry with five eyes, he took a handkerchief from his right shirt pocket and wiped blood from the [Enter] key with one of his seven hands.

Satsurikutenshi awoke in his cell. The padded walls were strong enough to contain him, but also designed to keep him from committing suicide. The entire room was monitored from every point with security cameras smaller than the fleas of Earth. He slumped in the corner and cried. The sedatives gave him an unimaginable headache, but he was still strong enough to hear the one thing that kept him sane. From the air vent in the ceiling so high above came the voice of the only other person he had grown to love; his brother Shinitenshi.

Shinitenshi- They treat you well, brother?

Being unable to "talk" for so long, the two had developed a system not unlike Morse code. The steady rapping came in reply.

Satsurikutenshi- Is the tire kind to road kill?

The resulting sound warmed Satsurikutenshi's heart. His brother's laugh always cheered him up when he was depressed. He wished he could laugh more than anything else at that point, but it wasn't possible. Instead, he smiled his toothy smile. Behind the young man's smile was the mind of a genius unlike any human being. His I.Q. was once found to be 780. It was like an ancient being in the body of a boy. He appeared to be no more than 14, but was actually 2 years old. Some of the crueler scientists like to make fun of his brother and him for that, comparing them to dogs. Satsurikutenshi despised them for that.

The two brothers continued to talk of their day. They only needed to sleep about 4 hours a day, so the scientists made sure to take advantage of that by testing them as much as possible. Anyway, it seemed Shinitenshi had an accident that day as well. As the scientists put him through the usual routine of experiments, he grabbed his temples and wailed. The steel walls of the testing room cracked and the carbon tables splintered. Three of the scientists fell into coma-like states. Unlike his brother, Shinitenshi stayed in his chair after the ordeal, weeping silently to himself, knowing that severe punishment was coming. So it did. With great sadness, he felt the bruises around his neck and the needle hole in his arm.

As the lights went out and the scheduled 4 hours of sleep began, Shinitenshi moved his cot quickly and put his hand in the air duct joining in the two cells. It took several seconds for the cameras to switch to night vision, so his brother and him did this every time it happened. Satsurikutenshi leapt from the floor of his cell and managed two hands through the duct. Then, he held on easily with one hand while the other hand took his brother's. Their fingers and thumbs grasped to become an oddly shaped ball.

Shinitenshi- *saying what he had said so many times before* Goodnight... brother.

Satsurikutenshi squeezed tightly in reply and dropped to the floor of his cell. He sprawled on the floor and was soon asleep. Shinitenshi, on the other hand, slept in his cot in the blank room he had come to call his sanctuary, but not his home. While Satsurikutenshi slept, Shinitenshi stayed awake longer. He saw images in his head of what life would be once his brother and him found a way to escape that horrible place. He saw liquid like the kind the scientists pumped into their veins, but different. It was clear and sort of reflecting like the computer monitors of the testing rooms. He had never seen water or a beach, but there it was in his mind. It stretched on forever. An endless beach with the great sea beyond. Then, he saw something that only appeared in his mind occasionally. Fields of green plants he would later know as grass and moving collections of water he would later know as rivers. With eyes closed tightly, he held up his hands as if to grab the scenery. Finally, he said the word he said every night just before sleep but was never taught by his cruel masters. It was the one word he knew and guarded in his heart.

"Home."

Chapter 1

Shinitenshi stirred his coffee with a straw, watching the ripples. He wore a black cassock style coat down to his ankles with a hood that covered his eyes and ears. He wasn't really aware of his surroundings at the time, but right then another patron of the bar was tapping him on his shoulder. Shinitenshi slowly turned with half interest.

"-said did you hear me, buddy?" asked an unfamiliar species of alien. It was times like these that made Shinitenshi regret keeping that universal translator that was implanted in his eardrum. The alien was six foot, easily, with a rough, emerald carapace. Four crab-like arms emerged from the right side of his body while one massive wing from his left rested lazily on the counter. Two giant bug-like eyes simultaneously looked Shinitenshi over, scoped the room, and saw down the other end of the bar. Shinitenshi realized why this creature was pestering him.

Alien- "I said I'm out of money. Can you buy me a drink, friend?"

Shinitenshi knew how to deal with the situation. With a slight thought, a bottle lifted from a shelf and floated to the other side of the counter. It set down right in front of the alien. Shinitenshi motioned with his head and the alien turned.

Alien- "What the-?"

Although suspicious, the alien was certainly grateful for the drink, wherever it may have come from. He drank straight from the bottle with content. Shinitenshi went back to his coffee, which was now cold. He stood up from his stool and headed for the exit, having already paid for his drink.

Shinitenshi gazed up at the blue sky as he walked through the urban city.

Shinitenshi- “Mars is so beautiful this time of year…” He thought to himself.

All around him, hundreds of different aliens bartered and traded goods to one another. He saw produce stands, jewelry, and a watch salesman, but he wasn’t there to visit the marketplace. He had business to take care of. Not before long, he arrived at the rendezvous point a few miles outside of town.

Three beings greeted him. Each of them were slightly humanoid in appearance, but with three eyes and razor sharp teeth. Their arms and legs were out of proportion to their bodies like grasshoppers. They all wore clothing similar to business suits. The only real difference between them was one carried a suitcase. Shinitenshi nodded to him, then held a device shaped like a guitar pick to his throat.

Shinitenshi- *in the alien’s language* “Do you have my pay, Slim?” Shinitenshi knew it was a code name, but used it anyway.

Slim- “These were not easy to come by…” He opened the suitcase and displayed Shinitenshi’s payment. “Do you have what we want?”

Shinitenshi nodded and pulled a small, black jar from his coat. He tossed it to one of the beings, which caught it. He glared at Shinitenshi who had on a poker face, but laughed on the inside.

Slim- “We’ll have to verify it of course.”

Shinitenshi- “Can’t say that doesn’t hurt my feelings.” He smirked.

The alien to Slim’s right pulled a small instrument like an ice cream scoop from his suit pocket while the other pulled the lid off the jar. He dumped the contents of the jar into his hand; two eyeballs. Each one was checked with the ice cream scoop device.

Slim- “Confirmation?”

The one to his left nodded in disbelief.

Slim- “Unbelievable. How did you manage to kill that bastard Tansarix?”

Shinitenshi- “I have my ways.” He picked up his suitcase. “Good day, gentleman.”

A second later, Shinitenshi drew a sword from the sheath on his right and sliced the air. Green blood splattered the ground and a thud was heard. He bent down and covered the invisible assassin with red dirt.

Shinitenshi- “Why try to kill a bounty hunter?” He turned and glared at the three creatures who only drew pistols in reply. In an instant, they were all crushed to scrap metal in their hands.

Slim- “What are you?!”

As he walked towards them Slim’s friends ran far and fast but their leader found his legs were like concrete. Shinitenshi grabbed the collar of his suit with one hand and lifted him off his feet.

Shinitenshi- “Who wants me dead?”

Slim- “I won’t tell you anything. They’d kill me.”

Shinitenshi- “And what makes you think I won’t?” He drew his sword.

Slim- “You don’t have the nerve…”

Shinitenshi- “You’re right.” He turned his blade to the flat side and smacked Slim hard in the forehead, knocking him out. “We’re going for a little trip, friend.” He slung him over his shoulder and headed back for the city.

Far away…

“Is everything ready?” Asked a voice in the darkness.

“Yes.” Came the reply. “We will give him the assignment. His friend is delivering it as we speak.”

“Excellent. Does the Organization know of our activities?”

“No.”

“What about the Ur-Quan?”

“…no.”

“You hesitated… What are you not telling me, son?”

“Father. It’s just that. I’m afraid. Will this work?”

“Of course it will. Don’t worry at all about that. Make sure the others are well compensated. They mustn’t say anything to the outsiders.”

“I will, Father. May I go?”

“Yes. Depart from my midst, but know that I am watching you.”

The smaller being ascended from the darkness while his creator turned back to the rotating sphere of screens.

“Come, bounty hunters. Catch that beast for me and I will make your dreams come true…”

Back in Maxinucia, the capital city of Mars.

“Slim” sat strapped in the chair of a cheap hotel. Only one light fell on his face as he awoke. The dank room stank of space insect dung and liquor. Shinitenshi didn’t seem bothered by it in the least as he approached him again and poured boiling water on his face. Slim screamed into his mouth gag.

Shinitenshi- “Are you ready to talk?”

Slim finally nodded painfully. Shinitenshi ripped the gag from his mouth.

Slim- “N-n-n…” A knock at the door made Shinitenshi gag him again and turn towards the door with his hand on his sword.

Shinitenshi- “Who’s there?”

Dark Roy- “It’s me, man. Open up.”

Shinitenshi opened the door and greeted his old friend Dark Roy. His real name was Roy, but he liked the nickname. He wore a black t-shirt under an armor vest. Two laser pistols were in the holsters attached to his blue jeans. Roy was from Earth, which had been repopulated by cloned humans almost 1000 years after its destruction from unknown reasons. Roy and Shinitenshi were possibly the only humans on Mars at the time. Roy wasn’t a very neat partner, but his accuracy and interesting conversation topics kept Shinitenshi amused. He set some fast food on the dirty table of the room and opened the bag. He was halfway through his sandwich before he noticed their guest.

Dark Roy- “Who’s that?”

Shinitenshi- “Ha. Not really quick today, are you Roy? This guy’s going to tell me who’s after my head.”

Dark Roy- “Headhunters? That sucks.” He took a long sip from his drink, then pulled a dagger from a holder on his ankle and whipped it at Slim’s forehead.

Shinitenshi- “What the hell did you do that for?!”

Dark Roy- “You were honestly going to believe that asshole? He would’ve just led us into a death trap or told us enough bullshit just to get free. I say we just get off this red dirt ball and head for our next pay off. Look, I got this print out from the local law and… oh, what is it now?”

Shinitenshi stood over the body of Slim. He felt around his neck and finally pulled a small pin from under his suit collar. Shinitenshi held it up for Roy to see. The door began to crack as a battering ram slammed against it.

Dark Roy- “Shit!” He jumped from his seat and drew his pistols. The sides filled with electrical blue fluid as they charged.

A second later, the door came down.

Chapter 2

In a small town 10 miles from Maxinucia, Mars...

In a local pub, five men gathered around a table covered with playing cards. Each had his share of liquor, but one in particular, Samson, had become a little too friendly with the waitress, Diane, who bought the drinks.

Diane- "Will that be all?"

Samson- "Nope."

He pulled her from her feet and into his arms, forcing a kiss on her. She struggled while the other men at the table laughed. Everyone in the bar was disgusted, save for one man. He sat in a dark corner, chewing on a toothpick. He had been silent for nearly two days now. He bothered no one and requested no service until this point. Rising from the table, the dark haired man wore a faded grey coat. Underneath he wore a silver breastplate along with a pair of old jeans in a strange match. In a quiet, yet reasonable voice, he spoke.

"Let her go…”

Although the man meant well, the five men at the table were scoundrels and would even shoot children who annoyed them. Their leader, still holding the terrified and crying waitress, walked over to the man in the grey coat. Throwing down the waitress and pulling a knife from his vest, he provoked the man in grey.

"Would you rather take her place?!"

The calm man didn't reply, but only turned and headed back towards his corner. Infuriated by this disrespectful act, Samson prepared to drive the knife into his back. Just as he was about to do it, the man in grey turned around and spoke. No. He didn't speak. He sang and the man dropped his knife.

Those in the bar who would survive what was to come would call it the most beautiful sound they had ever heard. It brought people to tears, even the scoundrels from the card table. It was in a divine tongue that no one knew, but only envied. The words themselves seemed to have been conceived only to pass from the lips of the man before them.

As soon as everyone was lost in the tranquil sound... it changed. Like the shrieks of a thousand bats, the buzzing of a million flies, and the wails that could've echoed off the walls of Hell itself, the following ode of misery moved throughout the bar. It consumed Samson like a twister of dark energy and its true nature revealed itself. The space around the poor fool seemed to become a speeding movie. Dust covered him from head to toe as he aged rapidly. Wrinkles covered his face and body. As he opened his mouth to scream, the skin peeled back from the bone until he was a skeleton and then his entire body disintegrated into dust. The song over, the man in the grey coat smiled at the horrified waitress and bent down next to her.

“May I be so bold as to inquire your name, miss?”

“D-d-diane...”

“Diane… pleased to meet your acquaintance.” He kissed her hand. “Sorry about the mess.” He smiled a toothy smile and made his way for the exit unhindered.

Crawling slowly towards the spot where the Samson stood, Diane saw the perfect circle of dust covering the floor, the remains of the man, and his clothing, which feel to pieces in her hands.

Outside, the man in grey picked a cactus-like flower from the red soil and smelled it, and then he headed towards Maxinucia. He sang softly, but not in his lethal voice.

“Angel of mind, matter, and fate. Making reality bend until it splits. Will your pure heart be consumed by hate? Blowing every single mind into bits.”

Back in Maxinucia…

As the hotel door hit the floor, it bounced back up and sent the officer with the battering ram through the wall outside. Shinitenshi willed it to happen. Dark Roy grabbed his bag of food and headed for the window by running backwards.

“Time to go, Shini!”

He smashed through he window and went into a free fall from the ninety-seventh floor. Shinitenshi soon followed, but picked up his suitcase and the print out Dark Roy left just as the back-up officers opened fire and destroyed most of the room. Shinitenshi fell straight down headfirst. He caught a glimpse of Dark Roy activating his jetpack and stopping just in time to land safely on the ground. He used his own telekinesis to lift himself in midair and set himself down on the ground. The two proceeded to run like mad men through the streets.

“Where the hell are we going?!” Dark Roy asked.

Shinitenshi pulled the print out from his pocket and stopped dead in his tracks. Dark Roy nearly tripped when he stopped almost with him.

“Shini? What’s wrong, dude?” He asked.

Shinitenshi glanced at the print out and as he did, he felt faint and stumbled backwards until he fell onto a table of an outside diner. He blacked out just as Dark Roy yelled.

Shinitenshi woke up in his bed. A very angry officer grabbed his throat and pulled him from the bunk.

“You shit faced fucker!” He yelled and struck Shinitenshi across the mouth. “Do you know how deep the shit you are in is!?” Before he could answer, he was being handcuffed and dragged through a dark hall. A door opened and he saw only darkness. Suddenly, lights came on the ground and revealed the landing pad for terrestrial aircrafts. It went out in a semi-circle from the main building. It was raining sheets outside as he was dragged to the middle of the pad where about a dozen other officers were gathered around… something. They all kicked and beat whatever it was until it was almost completely black and blue. Then, Shinitenshi saw what it was.

Satsurikutenshi was whimpering as the men around him laughed hysterically. He was also handcuffed; his hands behind his back. He shook his head as all the men but one walked away from his tortured and bruised body and headed for where Shinitenshi stared with eyes already filling with tears.

“Didn’t you get the message, boy?” Asked the officer that brought him to this horrible place. “Only humans allowed. Not freaks of nature!”

They began to beat him mercilessly. He couldn’t even defend himself as their feet stomped his nose and kicked his ribs. Though all around him were screams of hate, he heard a faint sound almost a million miles away.

CRACK

Followed by a scream. The men stopped momentarily as they turned away from Shinitenshi. The next thing he knew, they were all screaming shouts of surprise and fear. Mostly fear. They fell around him. He saw one hit the ground with a smaller figure on top of him. He could only make out the distinct shape of fists hitting an oval and making wet noises as blood splattered all over the pad. As he was blacking out, he felt gentle, but strong hands lifting him up. The smell of blood was everywhere. He heard one last thing before he completely passed out. It was a soft voice filled with so much sadness.

“It’s okay, Shini. It’s okay. They won’t hurt you anymore. I promise I…”

Shinitenshi woke up to see Dark Roy shaking his shoulders. He raised a hand in protest.

“Stop it.” He said.

“Okay. Are you alright? You took a pretty bad spill outside.”

“Outside?”

“Yeah. I brought you to the ship.”

“I’ll be okay… just thirsty.”

“I’ll get you some H20. Hold tight.”

Shinitenshi recognized the ship Dark Roy and him went in on together. It was mainly a cargo area, a two-seat cockpit, a resting area, and a toilet. Shinitenshi was currently lying in his cot beneath Dark Roy’s in the resting area. He saw his coat hanging from a hook on the wall. He also noticed the print out lying on his thin, white blanket. He picked up the sheet and read the first part; a news article. A picture of a planet, which caused Shinitenshi to pass out unexpectedly, was above a paragraph. He still didn’t know why he slipped into his memories like that.

“Special Delivery

At 2pm on Krelgi (August) 9th, the space shuttle Goliath was reported crashed on the junkyard planet of Earth. The crew was en route to the space station Atlantis 12 to deliver top secret cargo. Ur Quan investigators have no leads as to the location of the crash site and…”

The rest had been cut off. In cursive writing beneath it, someone wrote…

“Find the cargo and bring it to us at these coordinates. You’ll be awarded handsomely and much, much more.”

There were the coordinates, but no signature. Dark Roy stood in the doorway with a glass of water.

“What do you think?”

“About what?” Shinitenshi asked.

“The job. Should we take it?”

“Who gave you this?”

“Well, that’s kind of a good question. I actually stole it from this asshole mercenary who cheated me out of poker money. I took it from his coat pocket after I knocked his ass out with a bottle.”

Shinitenshi just shook smirked and shook his head as Roy started laughing.

“I say we have a plan.”

He rose from the cot in his plain, white shirt and headed for the cockpit. He swiped the glass of water and chugged it.

“You fill up the gas?” Shini asked almost accusingly.

“Fuck you. Do you even have to ask? You don’t have much confidence in me, do you?” Dark Roy laughed.

“Sit your ass down and buckle up.” Shinitenshi started the ship’s engine and it accelerated, sped along the ground, lifted its nose up, and exploded into the atmosphere.

“Wooooooooooooo-fucking-hoooooooooooo!!! Yee-haw! Damn! I never get tired of that! This baby’s engine rocks!” Dark Roy carried on, but Shinitenshi just smirked and continued piloting. He set the coordinates for Earth and they were on their way.

“Want your burger?” Roy asked as he held up the fast food bag.

Chapter 3

Shinitenshi awoke just as the autopilot was signaling the approach of Earth. He unbuckled his harness and shook Roy who sat snoring in the seat next to his.

“Wake up. We’re almost there.” He said.

When that didn’t work, Shinitenshi took the water he was drinking and splashed it on Roy’s face.

“Pffft!” Dark Roy spat as he awoke. “What the hell!?”

“We’re almost there.” Shinitenshi replied.

“Nice.” Dark Roy grudgingly said. “I was just getting used to having water splashed on me.”

“Get your ass in the back and ready the weapons. We might encounter hostile life forms or natives.” Shinitenshi ordered.

“Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.” Dark Roy set out into the back of the ship and opened the way to the cargo area. He stumbled and nearly fell flat on his face when the ship made a quick jerk.

“Sorry.” Shinitenshi said while trying to keep from laughing.

“The hell you are…” Dark Roy said as he opened the compartment containing his laser weaponry and ammunition. He also picked up some flashlights and body armor, putting them all in a black bag. He heard something strange and began to look farther into the cargo area, but Shinitenshi called him back. He wrote it off as the creaks and moans of an old ship.

A few minutes later, they were entering the atmosphere of Earth at 160 mph.

“Slow it down or we’ll crash just like that other ship!” Roy yelled as he held onto his harness.

Shinitenshi pulled back on the thrust and the ship began to slow. So far, they saw only clouds through the cockpit window, but now something else came into view.

“Oh…” Roy started.

The ship hit an ocean of black, putrid water.

“Shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!!!” Dark Roy screamed as they descended through the darkness. Shinitenshi had a panicked look on his face as he desperately tried to slow the ship down before they found themselves dead. He flicked on the headlights.

“Pull up!!!” Roy yelled as they almost hit a rock formation. He reached over and took control of the ship. It banked upwards at a ninety-degree incline. Soon, it burst from the murky depths and flew into a forest of trash. Thousands of destroyed ships and machinery littered the ground as they skidded along hauls and smashed off the review mirrors of some older models. Finally, they exited the junkyard and crashed into the ground. Screeching noises filled the cockpit as the two screamed simultaneously. They looked at each other, then back out the cockpit window, moments before slamming headfirst into a small tree and blowing it to pieces. Somehow it stopped them. Strange, scaled birds flew away from the crash site while inside the cockpit Shinitenshi and Roy lifted their heads. Still gasping from all the screaming, they were speechless, but a moment later Roy smiled his trademark jackass smile and yelled, “That was fucking sweet!”

“You are such a child sometimes…” Shinitenshi said as he pulled himself out of his harness and accessed the ship’s computer.

“You have to admit that was fun.” Dark Roy had to struggle out of his harness and pick up the bag of supplies off the floor behind his seat.

“Over 43% of the haul is damaged…” Shinitenshi replied grimly.

“Best ride of my life, I swear.” Dark Roy slipped into his battle armor. It fitted like a police vest around his chest. He slid an energy rifle into a holster on his back and two energy pistols into holsters on his belt.

“We blew out one of the engines…” Shinitenshi continued before shutting off the engine and pressing more buttons on the computer panel. The small retractable monitor was lit up with warnings and alerts.

“Think there’s a concession stand around here?” Roy joked. “Damn. I could go for some fried chicken or maybe a gyro. (He pronounced it jy-row)” He said as he loaded cartridges into his weapons and clipped grenades onto his belt.

“Are you even listening?” Shinitenshi turned very annoyed. He already shut off the computer to conserve power.

“Yeah. We’re hopelessly stranded and if we don’t find a local colony or some other form of civilization, we’re basically doomed to starvation or death by dehydration. Have you seen that water? Shi-it. You couldn’t drink that if it went through a million filters of…” Dark Roy stopped when he saw Shinitenshi raise his finger to signal “Silence.” He already had his cassock style coat on and his sword was already drawn. Dark Roy walked up to him and saw what he was looking at. Outside the window was a lone figure in a grey coat. He must have seen the accident and now was staring directly into the cockpit of the ship. Dark Roy raised his right hand and wiggled his fingers.

“Hi.” He said.

The figure darted towards the ship, running at great speed. He leaped into the air and a second later there was a loud clang on the ship’s roof. Shinitenshi nodded to Dark Roy, who nodded back in agreement. The two ran out the ship’s side door as Shinitenshi unlocked it and pushed it open. They both turned towards the roof in time to see the figure leap again and come flying towards Dark Roy.

“Who or what the fuck is that!?” Roy exclaimed.

Shinitenshi recognized him.

“Get down!!!” Shinitenshi pushed Roy with his mind and sent him into a bush. He then readied his sword and steadied his mind. The figure collided with him and the two went tumbling along the ground. Shinitenshi was the first to get up and swing his sword, only to have it connect with the enemy’s identical, save for the markings, sword.

They stared into each other’s eyes, studying each other’s movements and breathing. After what seemed an eternity, the figure in grey spoke.

“Hello, Shini. Long time. No see. How’s it been?” Satsurikutenshi asked.

“How did you know we were coming here, Sat?” Shinitenshi asked.

“You know… you and your friend should look your ship over more carefully before leaving a planet. You never know if a stowaway is on board…” Satsurikutenshi replied.

“Bullshit.” Came Shinitenshi’s reply.

“I see your vocabulary hasn’t improved much.” Satsurikutenshi snickered. “Let’s see if your skill with that sword has!”

The two began to fight ferociously and with incredible speed. Each countering each other’s swings and stabs over and over again. Sat did a backwards leap over Shini and swung his sword at his neck, only to have it blocked.

“You were always a good student, weren’t you?” Sat asked with a grin.

“I had a good teacher.” Shini replied with a stone face.

“Too bad it wasn’t me…” Sat replied.

“I could teach you a thing or two.” Shini smiled.

Satsurikutenshi’s face began red with rage as he screamed in reply. His attacks came with more power and speed. In a few seconds, Shinitenshi knocked his sword from his hands and had the tip to his neck.

“You may have been a good student.” Satsurikutenshi said, then he kicked the sword from Shini’s hand and grabbed him by the neck. Lifting him up with one hand, he wore a huge smile. “But school’s out.”

Before Shinitenshi’s eyes, his brother’s other hand vanished into his coat sleeve. A gurgle of noise came from the dark hole seconds before a very different appendage emerged. Metallic silver with pulsating veins of black, the spiked stump contorted and shaped itself before Shini’s very eyes until it became a spiked club of flesh and metal bone. Satsurikutenshi smiled as he pulled it back, preparing to swing it and crush Shini’s skull into pulp.

“Drop him!” Dark Roy yelled, aiming his rifle at Sat’s back.

“Or what?!” Sat growled.

Dark Roy fired the rifle and the resulting explosion of energy sent him stumbling back. The green fire hit Satsurikutenshi, burned through his coat, and ignited his flesh, causing him to drop Shinitenshi and howl in pain. Shini used all his power to send Sat flying into the air like a boy would flick a bug. His brother landed in the mud more than twenty meters away with a loud and wet thud.

“Who was that?” Roy asked. “And more important, why the hell did you send me into a bush!?”

Shinitenshi stared at him with great concern.

“We have to get away from of here.” He said slowly.

“Why? You saw. He’s toast. I wasted him.” Roy said.

“No. You don’t understand. He’s regenerating right now and will be coming back this way in no time. Come on. If we hurry, we can power the ship just enough to get to the coordinates.” Shinitenshi said as he picked up both swords and headed into the ship.

Dark Roy soon followed. As the ship took off with great effort on Shinitenshi’s part, it blasted across the barren wasteland and was on its way to the coordinates. In a short time though, Shinitenshi spotted the remains of the Goliath and they set down to investigate.

Chapter 4

Satsurikutenshi arose from the thick mud that covered him. He felt no pain in his broken collarbone, just irritation. He shrugged it off, as it would heal soon anyway. Looking to his left and then his right, he realized he didn't know which direction he was sent flying from. This very thought made him laugh out loud.

"Oh Shini. You always were good for a laugh." He thought as he twisted his neck from left to right, noticing the collarbone already healed. "However, I found nothing funny about that at all. I'll make you pay for that... as soon as I find your sorry ass."

He heard a twig snap and spun around. Reaching to his side, he saw his sword was gone. Hiding his surprise with a grin, he said to no one in particular.

"You'd best stay away, stranger. I'm not in the mood for any pathetic attempt at my life..." He said.

Another twig snap from the opposite direction made him much more than agitated.

"I said fuck off!!!" He yelled. He looked around and saw no one.

"Where are you!?" He asked the now silent forest, then he felt cold breath on the back of his neck and turned around. There, he saw a familiar man.

"Hello. How are you doing Subject 21?" Asked the man without a face.

Shaking, Satsurikutenshi looked right through the dark form that resembled a man. He fell backwards in the mud with a wet plop. There he lay and tears began to appear at the corners of his eyes.

"We'll have none of that." The man said. He picked Satsurikutenshi up and embraced him in a hug, patting him on the back. "How goes your journey, child?"

"I-I-I don't want to kill anymore..." Sat cried into the man's shoulder.

"Nonsense. Of course you do. You're death incarnate. Your purpose in life is to sow pain and destruction. Remember?" He asked.

Satsurikutenshi only sobbed in reply.

"Don't make me do this anymore, father. Please..." He begged.

The man without a face was less than pleased. He drove his fist into Sat's chest and felt his inhumanly large heart. Sat only gasped in agony. The dark man felt where his essence, like a black cancer, tainted Sat's once innocent heart.

"You are nothing without me! Remember that! Now, who do you love?" The man whispered into Sat's ear.

"Shin-" Satsurikutenshi began to say, but the agonizing pain brought him to his knees. "You. I love only you, father."

"Who gave you the gift of speech?" The dark man asked.

"No-" Sat once again didn't get to finish as the man took his head and drove his ethereal thumbs through his eyes. "You did! You did! You destroyed the implant! You gave me speech!"

"Then get up." The dark one pulled his "son" to his feet. "And follow me. I have such splendid things to show you."

"Yes, father Crion..." Satsurikutenshi said as he followed the dark apparition into the wilderness.

Back at the Goliath...

"This is it alright." Dark Roy said as he studied the side of the vessel. It was about three times the size of their ship, but in much worse condition at the moment. Most of the haul was covered with thick muck that was growing indigenous plants. Shinitenshi finally found the door and studied it.

"How are we going to open that?" Roy asked, and as if in answer to his question, a quick pull on the lever opened the ship. "It's not locked?"

"This was no accident..." Shinitenshi said.

They entered the ruined ship and looked at the floor. It was stained blue. Dark Roy went to touch it, but Shinitenshi stopped him.

"What?" Roy asked.

"Could be poison." Shinitenshi answered.

Dark Roy gave him his best "WTF are you talking about?" look.

"Well! It could be!" Shinitenshi said defensively, then ventured farther into the ship. He reached back his hand and Dark Roy placed the flashlight in it. As they both watched the beam travel around the interior, it fell on a gory sight. Shinitenshi cringed while Dark Roy only gasped. They approached what appeared to be the cockpit. Shinitenshi investigated three corpses.

"Navigation..." He said as he shined the light on a uniform full of what could have been red compost. "He looks like a pile of confetti."

Shini then shined the light on the pilot and co-pilot. Dark Roy grabbed his mouth to stifle a dry heave. Both men had their faces torn off. Eyeballs stared out from within lidless holes.

"Take his pulse." Dark Roy said. Shinitenshi punched him in the shoulder. "Ow. Asshole..."

"The pilot and co-pilot were killed by the same man, but the navigator wasn't." Shinitenshi said almost mechanically.

"Who are you supposed to be? A coroner? Ha." Dark Roy joked, then immediately regretted it as he saw what Shinitenshi's flashlight fell on next.

A tall tank that must of held some sort of organic life was smashed open. The supposedly impenetrable mesh inside was torn up like tissue paper. Shinitenshi gave the flashlight to Roy and approached a panel. He began tinkering with it while Roy studied the tank.

"What the hell came out of there?" He asked.

"Nothing. Something came in." Shinitenshi said as he studied the computer monitor. "Just look at the mesh. The torn edges are going inwards."

Dark Roy looked at it and confirmed he was right.

"How the fuck did you do that?" He asked with a touch of both anger and amusement.

"I can't access the data on this damn thing. It's encrypted." Shinitenshi said as he turned away from the computer.

"Lemme see it. Hold this." Roy gave him the flashlight as he went to the computer. After a few seconds of rapid typing on the keys, the information was revealed. "Open says me." He smiled.

"How the fuck did you do that?" Shinitenshi asked while trying not to laugh. They both studied the data. Shinitenshi saw a picture of something that resembled a giant wing. It was mostly bone, but some leathery skin was still attached to the wing. Shinitenshi began to feel dizzy.

"Holy shit. It's carbon dated to be a little more than 2000 years old..." Dark Roy said. "Shini?"

Shinitenshi fell down again, back into his faded memories.

It was still raining.

Sheets were coming down everywhere outside the cave when he came to. He looked at his arms and legs, covered with bruises and sores. Then he saw Satsurikutenshi near the entrance of the cave, keeping watch. He was hunched over with nearly every inch of his body covered with mud. Shinitenshi suddenly realized he was talking to someone.

"-know there is a price to be paid for what I've done for you?" Came an unnerving voice from outside. Sat nodded. "Good. Your brother appears to be awake."

"Shini!" Satsurikutenshi ran over and embraced his brother in a hug. Shini began to protest from the pain, but changed his mind and just hugged his brother right back. "Shini! This man saved us! H-he gave me back my voice! Isn't that great?!"

"Sat..." Shini began. "Where are we, Sat?"

"We're safe now. You were asleep for two days. We're far, far away from that horrible place. Father took us to this new planet and-"

"Father?"

"Father Crion. He's the one I told you about. He can heal you like he healed me, Shini."

"Your wounds are still there, Sat. They're just covered with mu-" Then Shinitenshi saw the black goo all over his brother wasn't mud, but something else. It writhed and moved of its own accord. It was alive...

"Shini. What's wrong, Shini?"

"We've got to get away from here, Sat. Crion's not our father and I have this strong feeling he's not our friend. He's going to do bad things with us. Do you understand?"

"But Shini. I-If we go, I won't be able to protect you like I promised."

"What? What promise? You promised?"

"Yes. I promised you as I was carrying you away from that place. Right after father Crion helped save us, I promised. I will always protect you, Shini, and you can always protect me. We can survive. There is hope. We can be free."

"How can we be free if we have to obey someone we don't even know?"

It was then that Crion entered the cave. Lightning struck outside.

"What's the matter, Shinitenshi? You don't want me to lead you? I can teach you how to use those powers of yours to get anything you wish in this universe. You'll never be afraid again..." The black shade promised freely. "Just take my hand... and I'll touch your heart like I've touched your brother's."

"No." Shini replied.

"Shi-" Sat began, but Shinitenshi stood up.

"No! We will not take your mark, Crion! We won't be slaves to you!" He ran out of the cave. Then turned back with tears in his eyes when he realized Sat wasn't coming with. "Goodbye, Sat..." He ran as far as he could through the storm.

"Shini!" Sat cried after him. "Please! Come back! Please! Come back!!!"

"Come back, Shini!" Dark Roy yelled as he shook his friend on the ground.

"I know..." Shinitenshi began with a tremble in his voice. "I know what they plan to do..."

"They?" Dark Roy asked.

The computer panel began to crackle with electricity and was soon on fire. They both dove from the ship and to the ground as an explosion lit up the sky. Shinitenshi rose to his feet, grabbed his friend's arm, and the two scrambled from the rising flames. The fire cast light on them in the darkness of night, so that Roy could make out the horror in Shinitenshi's eyes.

"Shini?" Roy asked slowly.

"C-crion's going to use my brother." He began.

"Crion? Brother?! Slow down!" Roy began, but Shini didn't listen.

"He's going to use Sat like he did 60 years ago. He's been teaching him to use his power for evil and now it seems he's going to play a part in something... horrible. I don't know what it is but I have the strongest feeling that's it's coming." He slumped to his knees and looked at the ground with great sadness. "It's coming... back."

"What's coming, Shinitenshi? What's coming back?" Roy asked cautiously.

Shini raised his head and for the first time in so long, Dark Roy saw the great age in those tired eyes. He said one word.

"Home."

"Home?"

"Home is coming back..."

Chapter 5

Crion led Satsurikutenshi into a dark cave some twenty kilometers from the Goliath's crash site. The walls stank of odors Sat couldn't even describe. Crion, being in a bizarre state of undeath, didn't notice them. He led Sat deeper and deeper into the cold Earth until at last they reached a great chamber.

"We're here." Crion said as his form descended to the ground and became part of Satsurikutenshi's shadow. "Welcome to my lair."

"What is this place, Crion?" Sat asked hesitantly.

"This is last trace of civilization, if you could call it that, on this planet, my son." The shade explained as he rose from the shadows and approached a great sphere of monitors. Each appearantly observed a different area. "These are my eyes and ears. They are my other children."

"Other children, father?" Satsurikutenshi asked with a touch of jealousy.

"Don't worry. You are my favorite by far. My other children are not like you. They are made from the lost technology of this world... before the end."

"Will you tell me how this world ended again, father?"

"No."

Satsurikutenshi looked down at the ground dejectedly.

“However, I will show you the fruit of my tireless labor. Observe that monitor.” Crion punched some buttons on a panel and the sphere came to life, revolving its multiple sections onto three screens appeared. They revealed Dark Roy and Shinitenshi walking away from their ship.

"Why are you showing me this, father?" Sat asked nervously.

"I want you to witness firsthand the carnage... how I hate that word... astrocities my children can commit." Crion answered. He reached out telepathically with his mind and somewhere not too far away an inhuman being stirred to life.

In the junkyard...

"So, you're telling me that you're not human?" Roy asked.

Shinitenshi sighed. "Not exactly. I was cloned from fossilized human DNA from this planet, then enhanced through strange experimentation by my creators." He answered. "I may look human but in reality, I'm something more and so is my brother."

They approached their ship and climbed aboard. Shinitenshi started up the engines as Dark Roy buckled his harness. The ship took off, but only had enough energy to act as a hover car. It glided across the landscape as the two bounty hunters looked through the cracked cockpit window.

"So, where are we headed now?" Roy asked.

"Well, since the cargo of the Goliath has been stolen, we'll have to look for it. First, I want to find a colony and see about getting some of the damage to our ship repaired." Shini answered without turning his head.

"Shini?" Roy asked.

"Yes?"

"What will you do if Satsurikutenshi follows us? Will you kill him if you have to?"

Shinitenshi didn't reply, but only pointed to the right.

"According to these coordinates, the closest town is a kilometer that way." He said.

The ship veered right and was on its way to civilization. The two friends didn't exchange anymore words until they reached the colony's location. The ship came to a halt in the middle of a ghost town. Charred one-story buildings surrounded them. A few were still smoking. The smell of death was everywhere. Shinitenshi and Dark Roy exited their craft with caution.

“What the holy hell happened here?” Roy asked with fear already showing on his face.

As if to answer his question, a dozen missiles came flying. The world fell silent as Shinitenshi mustered all the energy he could to send out waves of telekinesis. Only ten of the missiles were diverted from hitting their ship, but two hit the fuel tanks head on. The resulting explosion sent Shinitenshi and Dark Roy flying into the ruins of destroyed colony.

Shinitenshi and Dark Roy were separated.

That is when Crion's children desceneded upon them.

A few hundred meters from the colony...

Eric "Chaos" Young awoke from where he laid with his back against a tree. He pulled his gun close to his full body armor and saw the blood everywhere. Panicking, thinking it was his own, he let out a frightened sob. Suddenly, he remembered that it wasn't.

"Eric!!!" His childhood friend Mikey had screamed.

Chaos covered his face with his gloved hands.

Mikey's skull exploded into pieces. A shrieking, robotic horror pulled his friend's still twitching torso towards it. Chaos screamed as it pulled Mikey's limbs off. The next thing he knew, he was frozen in fear. The robot looked right at him, yet didn't see him. It was then he realized they could only see their victims if they moved. Instead of yelling this two his still fighting friends, Eric just stood still with a look of horror on his face as the waves of robotic abominations killed everyone of his neighbors and loved ones.

Now, he laid against a tree hundreds of meters of meters from his home town and he just heard an explosion.

"I can redeem myself. If someone's there, I can help them." Chaos said out loud, not totally ware of it. "Shit. I'm thirsty."

He re-loaded his rifle and set off for the colony.

Chapter 6

Shinitenshi leapt into the air and brought his blade down in a powerful vertical swipe. The robot before him was cut clean in half. Sparks of electricity and oil sprayed the ground. Seconds before he could retreat, several more of the bizarre machines lurched towards him. Only about four feet in height, the robots were still a horrible sight with their bipedal movement. Their gnawing jaws with jagged dagger like teeth opened and closed as if in anticipation of warm blood. Their main weapons, three crablike claws that extended from the chest with a good two-foot reach, reached out beckingly for a hunk of Shinitenshi's flesh. He wasn't about to go down like that. He moved with a warrior's grace, using his sword to disect his opponents with ease. His speed and agility increased as another wave of the mechanical predators attacked.

"Where's your master?" Shinitenshi asked his most recent kill, fully knowing it wouldn't answer. "Why does he send you wretches to greet me?"

As the robots gnawed and tore their way towards him, he backed up against the flaming wreckage of his ship.

"Roy!" Shinitenshi yelled. "Where are you!?"

On the other side of the wreckage, Dark Roy shot at the killing machines. One of them bit air just as he ducked and shoved his rifle in the bottom part of its jaw. The blast sent the robot tumbling and Roy to the ground. One of the machines caught his weapon in mid air and took a bite out of it. The resulting explosion sent its robotic limbs and torso into the air. Dark Roy drew his two pistols as the robots bum rushed him.

"Shinitenshi!" He yelled as he shot one robot after another. "You okay?!"

The reply came shortly. "Roy!" Shinitenshi yelled. "Shit! You're on the other side!?"

"Yeah! Maybe you can-" Before Roy could finish, he saw a humanoid form leap into the air and somersault to the ground right next to him. "...go around." Roy finished.

The two fought the seemingly endless flood of robots, hacking and shooting off their limbs and heads. Suddenly, the ground began to rumble.

"What the hell-" Roy asked just as a gigantic machine burst through a burning building to his left. "Is that thing!?"

The robot stood fourteen feet tall with a humanoid body. Two giant arms like tree trunks stretched into the air as a screeching sound came from its head. Dark Roy covered his ears, but Shinitenshi just squinted with disdain at the metal beast. All the smaller robots stopped as if at attention and moved for the giant robot to approach the two fighters. The ground shook with each hulking movement and ripples went through the puddles of oil from the slain robots on the ground. The abomination of metal and raw power looked down at its two enemies with one robotic eye. The eye extended from its body until it was face to face with Dark Roy, and then Shinitenshi.

"What the fuck are you looking at?" Shinitenshi said as he drew Satsurikutenshi's sword from a sheath on his back and drove it into the humongous eye. An intense screech echoed endlessly across the landscape as the smaller robots rushed to defend their larger brother. There were thrice as many as before and Shinitenshi couldn't see any clear ground.

"Any ideas, Shini?" Roy asked as he aimed his pistols, concentrating with every muscle and nerve. He stood frozen and that's when Shinitenshi realized.

"They can't see us if we don't move..." He said aloud. He was right. The robots’ heads twisted as if to look the two victims over, but no cameras followed their movement, only sensors. "They're blind unless we move."

Dark Roy agreed, then looked back to the giant robot. It had recovered and now knocked the smaller robots out of the way as it cut a path towards the two. "What do we do? He's coming at us fast and we can't swing a cat without hitting a damn robot! What do we do?"

With incredible speed, Shinitenshi grabbed two grenades from Roy's belt and leapt onto the still burning ship. As the heat began to melt his shoes, he kicked off the metal surface and over the crowd of grasping claws. All the robots turned from Roy's direction and chased Shini.

"Comon, assholes!" Shinitenshi armed the grenades as soon as he ran far enough. "You want to kill anything that moves!? Be my guest!" He threw both grenades after pulling them back behind him and put some real force into it. His plan worked. They went into the hole the eye extended from on the giant robot. A little less than two hundred robots climbed onto the much larger robot attempting to get the grenades. Just as the last one completed the dog pile, the grenades exploded. The sky rained metal and oil. Thousands of pieces clattered against the muddy ground with a cacophony of noise. The ground was soaked with oil as the remaining one third of the giant robot tumbled over and hit the ground. Fire began to creep onto its left wrist and a supply of missiles launched, streaking into the sky and creating beautiful explosions.

"Damn, Tenshi..." Dark Roy laughed as he ran up to his friend and punched him in the shoulder. "You got some wicked moves, man!"

Shinitenshi smiled as he joined his friend in triumph. Then a look of horror creeped onto his face as he realized something. He ran past Dark Roy, nearly knocking him over. Using his sword to open the ship's door, he dove inside and soon emerged with the metal suitcase from Mars.

"Oh yeah. I forgot about that." Roy said as Shinitenshi walked up to him. "What's in there anyway?" He asked.

Shinitenshi sat down beneath a black tree and opened it on the muddy ground.

Roy gasped as he saw the contents.

"Is that what I think it is?" He asked.

Shinitenshi nodded, then pulled out a very old dagger. The handle was an infant exoskeleton of a squidlike monster with five bulbous eyes like jewels. The jagged blade came from its beak and was nearly a foot in length.

"I only read about those things." Roy said with awe. "The blade is made from the tooth of a... an..."

"Octorkulan."

The octorkulani were an extinct species of vastly enormous squid. On water covered worlds, they could subdue prey the size of blue whales with one of twelve long tentacles. Each of these tentacles were covered with thousands of "teeth". The venom was so potent it could supposedly kill a little over 100,000 men.

"They told me some of the venom is still in this blade..." Shinitenshi said as he sheathed it with extra caution and attached it to his waist with the belt included.

"What do you plan to do with such a thing?" Dark Roy asked.

Shinitenshi gave Roy a look that made him feel foolish.

"I intend to use it... when the time is right. Now. Let's get going." He said as he rose to his feet, putting his hood over his head and set off.

"Where are we going?" Roy asked.

"I have no idea, but I just sense this is the way." He replied.

"Okay. Now you're starting to creep me out."

Far away...

Crion and Satsurikutenshi watched the two through one of the monitors.

"Insolent scum. I should've dealt with them myself. No matter." He turned from the rotating sphere and approached a row of what could've been morgue freezers. He pulled one of them open and lifted a baggie with condensation on it. He opened it and dumped the contents onto a metal table that rose from the ground. A frozen, fossilized wing covered only a small portion the table. "Children. Gather around..."

From the darkness of the cave, Satsurikutenshi noticed for the first time many, many eyes. They glowed red. Suddenly, twenty small children emerged from the darkness and gathered around the table.

"Who are these children, Crion?" Sat asked.

"They were once the children of the colonists I had murdered, but now..." He petted the hair of a young girl about the age of ten. She showed no reaction. Only her eyes glowed. "They are mine. I have given them each a portion of my being and now they are nearly as deadly as you, but nowhere as deadly as me. Remember that." Crion said, then turned his eyes expectantly to Satsurikutenshi.

"You know what to do…"

"What?"

"Use your gift. Sing, my angel of slaughter. Sing, but this time... in reverse."

Satsurikutenshi began to sing just as he did in the bar not so long ago. He focused his power and the "Ode to Agony" erupted from his vocal cords. The horrible sounds of a thousand hells filled the cave and a small tornado became visible around the table. The eye of the sound storm moved onto the wing and then the calm, tranquil "Requiem of Wonders" briefly lit the darkness. Satsurikutenshi’s voice didn't get through to the hearts of the children however and they, like their cruel master, were untouched by its beauty.

Instantly, time began to rewind around the wing. The layer of dust covering the table vanished into nothing and the table looked like new. The process of fossilization on the wing went rapidly in reverse. Blood began to appear at the edges where it was torn off. From the blood shot bone marrow. It stretched out until it formed a skeleton. The heart, lungs, and other major organs grew like seeds inside the skeleton. Loads of pink muscle began to cover the skeleton and soon blood also covered it like frosting on a cake. Then, crystalline skin as hard as diamonds appeared, covering every spot. Toenails formed on the feet and fingernails formed on the hands that were folded across the broad chest. The life form being revealed on the table was a demon five feet seven inches in height and two hundred and thirty pounds of pure muscle. The creature had no sexual organs, for it was forbidden to procreate, but an aura of masculinity seemed to radiate from it, along with the scent of fear. As Satsurikutenshi’s song came to a close, the eyes opened in one quick motion and the lungs filled with air. The demon bolted upward on the table. He spoke in a voice showing only rage and determination.

“I’m not through yet.” Demon Child said to no one in the room. He reached for his sword, but it wasn’t there. He turned with eyes as wide as saucers. “Crion!? Where’s Zykuzal?! Where’s the desert?! Where the hell am I!?” He screamed.

Crion nodded to his children and four of them went to every limb. Demon Child could’ve moved, but he was too shocked by this bizarre development to resist. Just moments ago, he was battling a great horror known as Zykuzal. The beast had destroyed all life on Earth, including every one of his friends. It then dawned on him that the Demon Knights were no more. Now, he looked at Crion one last time before a powerful tranquilizer was inserted into his arm and the darkness flooded his vision. Demon Child fell back on the table out cold.

Crion turned towards Satsurikutenshi and the darkness floating around him radiated only malevolence.

“You’ve done very well, my son.” Then he turned to the children. “Get the tools.”

Turning back to Satsurikutenshi, he grabbed his right hand a shook it.

“The final stage of your development will soon be underway… and the deranged evolution shall continue as prophesied.” He smiled, then drove the same tranquilizer into Sat’s right wrist.

Chapter 7

Chaos walked cautiously towards his old town. The smell of burning metal and wood hung heavily in the air. He approached his old house and saw it was completely destroyed. The only remains left standing was a charred fence that was once a beautiful shade of pearly white. His mother had spent many hours in the garden of flowers behind the fence, but now all that occupied that patch of ground was a ruined robot. The side of its face that wasn’t covered in oil reflected Chaos’s own face as he looked into it. He didn’t realize how bad he looked until now. A trail of blood that ran down his left cheek was hardened. He had a black eye. What he thought was a small bruise was actually a deep cut. He looked away painfully. That was when he saw the dead woman. He was practically whimpering to himself as he walked over to her. He kept repeating the same two words over and over in his mind.

Please no. Please no. Please no.

As he turned the woman over, he stepped back while uttering a short scream. It was indeed his mother, but the only thing that identified her now was the heart necklace his father gave her. Her face and much of her upper body was mutilated beyond any recognition. With tears in his eyes, Chaos bent down to grasp her hand.

“I’m sorry.” He choked out. “I’m sorry I left. If I knew…”

The party Chaos followed to combat the invading robots were horrified to realize the robots had taken the town only minutes after they left. They knew this because of the explosions and screams.

“If I knew… I… I…” Chaos dropped her hand and put his face in his own hands. He cried for a moment before just looking upwards and screaming in both anger and grief.

After a long time, Eric “Chaos” Young proceeded to his family’s storage shed. For a moment, he was pissed to find he didn’t know where the key was, and then he looked and saw one wall had been blown open. He stepped inside and, after some searching, found a shovel. Half an hour later, he was leaving his home. All that was left to show his return was a new grave with a cross constructed out of two charred fence posts. A message had been quickly carved into it.

Here lies Debra Young: 3965 – 4003 A.D. “Beloved”

A heart necklace hung from the cross.

At the same moment as Chaos was leaving his home town, Demon Child awoke from his tranquilizer induced slumber and found himself in a watery tank. A breathing mask attached to his face was one of the many instruments attached to him. Two dozen suction cups with waterproof wiring gathered data while a robotic arm holding a needle moved towards his neck. It was then that he realized his arms and legs were stuck inside powerful braces that wouldn’t budge no matter how hard he tried. He struggled as the needle struck his neck and blood was extracted. It was then that he heard the voice in his head.

“Patience, Demon Child. Soon, I’ll free you.”

Demon Child opened his eyes and looked across the room. Though slightly tinted by the green liquid, Crion’s form was unmistakable. He rose from the shadows and crossed to mere inches from the tank’s surface.

“That’s right. I know of your telepathy.” Crion cheerfully beamed another message to his enemy. “I bet you have many questions. I’ll be happy to answer them… to an extent.”

“I do have questions, but I also know that any answer you give me would be a filthy lie.”

“That really hurts my feelings. Honestly. You’d think two thousand years of death would mature you.”

“What?”

“You died, my friend.” Crion laughed. “You died fighting Zykuzal on his own turf, but unfortunately, you defeated him and closed the gateway between his world and ours.”

“Then why…how am I here?” Demon Child asked, still uncertain if Crion was just pulling answers out of his ass.

“Long ago, I found a delightful specimen. A human being cloned from old, old DNA on Earth, grown in a laboratory, and… upgraded. He was destined to be the ultimate soldier for a new faction much like the Ur-Quan of the old times. However, the experimentation came with an incredible side effect with much potential.” Crion continued. “His voice can produce extreme fluctuations in time and space within small areas. I used him to bring you back from the dead, Demon Child.”

“Why?” Demon Child asked after taking a few moments to digest all the information being given to him.

“For two reasons. I’ll reveal the more important one in a moment, but one reason is… because I want you to join me.” Crion answered.

“Never.” Demon Child spoke.

None of Crion’s children in the room were telepathic and not a word had passed between their master and his guest, but now they jumped in fear when Crion pounded a dark fist on the tank’s glass.

“Hear me out!” Crion’s mind roared at Demon Child. “It’s taken me two thousand years to get to where I am now and I won’t give it all up. I want you to join me against a common foe…”

“What foe would this be?” Demon Child asked.

Crion paused, and then spoke slowly.

“The remaining masters of Zykuzal’s dimension have finally returned. Though they are officially nameless, I have dubbed them… The Worm Lords.”

“Worm Lords? What nonsense is that?” Demon Child laughed.

“Have you not seen the worms Zykuzal used to control the minds of his minions and empower them with his darkness?! You forget Kaloc, who was one of Zykuzal’s minions many, many years ago, murdered me! For reasons I do not understand, I am still damned to roam this forsaken world! The Worm Lords must be exterminated before it is too late!” Crion yelled.

“How do I know you’re not with them? How do I know you won’t stab me in the back?” Demon Child asked.

“You don’t and you won’t. You have two options right now. Join me and defend your precious humanity and the very universe… or die and die knowing that because of you all life will cease and the darkness of the worm lords shall consume every…single…planet! Make your choice… Demon Knight!” Crion turned from the tank and began to leave the room.

“I’ll do it.” Demon Child said after a few moments. “Crion, I’ll do it. However, I’ll do it on my terms. Release me from this tank and we’ll negotiate.”

Crion nodded to one of his children. A young boy with red eyes approached the panel next to Demon Child’s tank and entered a code. The green liquid drained and all the instruments ceased their duties. The tank rose into the ceiling and Demon Child stepped out. A moment later he stood face to face with Crion.

“You have my word that this isn’t a trick. I am very serious. We have but a few days to prepare.” Crion held out a hand. Demon Child refused to shake it.

“Betray me, Crion, and your first death will look like a tea party compared to what I’ll do to you.” Demon Child said solemnly.

“Fair enough. Now, come. I have to show you something.” Crion led Demon Child from the room.

A few yards from Crion’s hidden cave, Dark Roy and Shinitenshi tracked through a seemingly endless swamp. A wide variety of chirping and clicking insects making mating sound calls made up most of the ambience. Gooey, black sludge gripped their every footstep and tried to pull them down. Still, they trekked on with Shinitenshi leading them.

“Are we any closer to our destination, Shini?” Roy asked as he freed his leg from a patch of particularly sticky slime.

“Yes. I sense we’ll be there shortly.” Shinitenshi answered.

“And… still no idea whatsoever what awaits us when we get there?” Roy asked again.

“Yes.” Shinitenshi stopped and turned towards him. “I keep telling you I just have this feeling. It’s so familiar, but I can’t put a name on it. Have a little faith in me.”

“Oh. I’ve got plenty of faith, Shini, but this spot of the swamp looks very familiar to the spot we passed through half and hour ago…” Dark Roy began, but stopped when he saw Shinitenshi slowly draw his sword. He drew his pistols a moment later.

“We’re not alone...” Shinitenshi said.

The chirping and clicking insects all around them stopped in unison.

“No… you’re not.” Said a figure ahead of them. The voice was that of a child’s. The origin showed itself freely, emerging from a growth of vines. It was a young boy with brown hair. He couldn’t be any older than twelve.

Shinitenshi sheathed his sword and approached the boy. Dark Roy kept his pistols out.

“Stop.” Dark Roy said as Shinitenshi was only a few feet from the boy. “Don’t go near him.”

By then it was too late. The boy grabbed Tenshi’s wrist and as he did nine more children rose from the swamp. Black liquid dripped from their skin.

“You’re coming with us.” The boy said as he held Shinitenshi’s wrist. He then looked at Dark Roy with contempt. “Both of you!”

Dark Roy took aim and shot seventeen times at the boy. Each hit sent red blood into the swamp, but the boy didn’t release Shinitenshi. Instead, he touched one of the charred holes in his flesh and licked the blood from the wound. Shinitenshi saw it was coagulated. He pulled his wrist easily from the boy and drew his sword. He took the boy’s head off and a second after he did, the body exploded like a bomb. Shinitenshi went flying into the air and hit the ground right next to Dark Roy, who stood firing at the other nine children. Soon, Shinitenshi and him were bum rushed and taken down to Crion’s cave.

Chapter 8

Crion led Demon Child through the vast corridors of his underground complex until finally they came upon a vast hall. Darkness seemed to stretch on forever in all directions and the only light came from the door from which the two figures entered. Crion approached a symbol that glowed faintly on the floor. As he began to make motions with his hands, burning purple fire followed his fingertips in trails. He drew bizarre symbols in the air. Finally, after a few moments, a shape began to appear in the distance. It split into two pillars of arcane symbols. They stood a little less than one hundred feet high. Soon, they were only a few feet from where Crion stood upon the symbol.

“This is it, Demon Child.” Crion began. “Go stand on that symbol and be ready.”

Demon Child hesitated, and then stepped over to the symbol. As he did, he realized just how strange the pillars looked. Images of strong warriors fighting gigantic beasts covered the first one while the second showed a legion of the same gruesome creatures ravaging the world. Demon Child stepped onto the symbol and immediately felt something. He felt comfortable and a little bit happier, in fact, a lot happier. A grin covered his face as he turned and nodded to Crion. Crion waved back, and then beckoned another figure from the shadows.

“Meet my greatest child, DC.” Crion said as he placed a warm hand on Satsurikutenshi’s shoulder. Demon Child looked Sat over, noting how familiar he looked. He couldn’t put a finger on it, but he just knew. Sat walked over to another symbol on the opposite side of Demon Child. Crion began to make more burning symbols in the air.

Demon Child stood and waited until Crion finally finished. He then heard a humming sound. Turning quickly to his right, he reached up and caught a speeding sword in his hand. He turned the blade over and over and felt its smoothness and sharp edge. Demon Child recognized it at once, and then it hit him like a ton of bricks.

“Masamune!!!” He screamed as a bolt of dark magic hit him.

“Yes. Your sword.” Crion smiled. “It took a lot of work to send that through the doorway, especially after it was shattered into pieces…”

“No! How?!” Demon Child yelled as his hands clutched the sword, but not of his will.

“You were killed! Who you think you are is just a clone of what you were before you went off the handle and killed a god!” Crion roared. “You killed Zykuzal! Mighty as he was, he was but a scout! Soon, you shall see the true worm lords!”

Demon Child glanced across the room. Satsurikutenshi had his hands to his sides and stood on tiptoes. Tears streamed down his face. So did a red substance. Then, Crion made another symbol in the air. Satsurikutenshi exploded into bright blue flame. He screamed in outright pain. Demon Child could only stare in bewilderment as the once human figure took on a much more deranged appearance. His skin ripped open and dark gray fluid spilled out, covering his body like a fungus. It crept to every inch, making his muscles expand and rip through his clothing. A few moments later, two giant feathered wings tore from his back and spread out, creating a truly menacing sight Satsurikutenshi had become almost as buff as Demon Child. As the last bit of the gray fungus swallowed his head and created a new face, Demon Child caught a glimpse of his horrified eyes and quivering lips. He also heard his last words.

“S-s-so cold…”

Where Satsurikutenshi once stood, an angelic that appeared incredible ill, now shook in rage.

“Sing!” Crion yelled from what seemed miles away.

Demon Child’s hands clutched the sword and red fire began to pour into it. He felt his energy being concentrated in a way he had never felt before. It drained him quickly, leaving him in some pain. He struggled to maintain his footing and gain control of his arms. The bolts of dark magic still crackled around him.

“Sing, my angel of slaughter!” Crion screamed.

Demon Child heard a noise. It had no emotion he could identify, but the power that seemed to entwine within the sound waves was enough to make his heart skip a beat. Satsurikutenshi was singing and as he did a vortex of incredible power struck the first pillar on the left. It began to fall to pieces and clouds of dust wafted from it.

Demon Child’s energy moved of its own accord, striking the second pillar. Like a lightning rod, he felt the shock of the escaping energy tearing gashes in his hide. He watched the second pillar fall to pieces. A wall of pale blue energy that once stood invisible between the two pillars began to quake and shatter. Crion was laughing madly this whole time and Demon Child just noticed this.

“What have you done, Crion!?” He growled.

“I’ve used two unwilling pawns to destroy the only thing holding back the worm lords from entering this world…” He responded with total awe. “They will thank me greatly. I have waited so long for redemption and now it shall be mine…”

Crion fell to his knees as the area between the shattered pillars began to rip open like a crack in a television screen. Reality seemed to splinter in the hall. Demon Child, finally free, readied his sword and charged for Crion. He brought the blade down with all his fury; only to have it blocked by Satsurikutenshi’s own blade made of the hardened fungus.

“Any enemy of my father is my enemy.” The monster that was once human hissed. He swung his sword at Demon Child’s neck, but the opposing demon was ready for him. By the time the blade met Masamune, Demon Child’s face was as stone.

“Step away from him, or I’ll cut you down.” The Demon Knight warned.

“Stop fighting, both of you.” Crion said unexpectedly. “We are in the presence of the divine…”

He bowed his head to the ground in respect for the creatures that now stood in the room.

Demon Child had seen some pretty grotesque things in the universe in the thousands of years he had lived, but this new foe went beyond; way beyond. Its very face gave the warrior pause and drove him to revulsion. No living animal on Earth held any similarity to this vision of sheer horror.

From the shadows the worm lord, as Crion had named it, emerged partially. It stood seven feet tall, give or take. Its body was and wasn’t serpent-like in appearance. That is to say, it was shaped like the body of a snake, but along the way to what would have been the tail the crimson skin opened and closed almost like gills. As they did, Demon Child could see hundreds if not thousands of writhing worms. These weren’t night crawlers either, but snapping, hungry maggots with visible maws of razor sharp teeth. They fell from the opening and closing “gills” and slithered across the floor.

Farther up the body, a torso with no arms, but hideous veins and a jagged ribcage pulsated through even darker, crimson skin. Now and then, dark shapes would move beneath the skin, which gave off a faint glow. Before Demon Child’s staring eyes, the chest ripped open and a single appendage emerged from the separating ribcage. It was a whipping mouth full of needle-like teeth. The black stem it rested on dripped saliva on the stone floor. Demon Child and Satsurikutenshi both took a step back as the appendage came to a halt inches from Crion’s face. A few feet away, the head above the torso came into view from the shadows. It was faceless; just a bumpy stub of red flesh. Suddenly, a single eye opened. It had no pupil, but only dripping red liquid. It seemed to drip from the great twitching eye and, like a waterfall, fell to the ground below.

Demon Child couldn’t stand it any longer. He charged at the creature and drove his sword into its eye. It screeched from the mouth that whipped around in front of Crion. He twisted Masamune and severed its flabby, faceless head. It fell to the floor, where black foam began to hiss from the cut. Demon Child backed away as the head regenerated and the eye returned as if nothing had happened. The severed head on the ground twitched and foamed even more. A moment after stopping, it split open and a miniature worm lord crawled out.

“No. T-t-that’s not possible.” Demon Child stammered. “No living being could procreate like that…”

“Oh, but They can.” Crion said as he gently petted the appendage mouth. “You are in the presence of perfection, demon. Bow before the new rulers of the universe.”

“That… that’s the only one coming?” Demon Child asked.

“Yes. Don’t you see? Only one is needed.” Crion said. “Now. Our deal still stands. You can join me… or die.”

“Neither.” Demon Child said as he bolted for the door. He lifted off the ground and flapped his giant wings. Soon, he was far away from the hall and flying through the underground corridors to the surface.

“He won’t go far.” Crion said to his beloved guest. “Son…”

The Satsurikutenshi beast cocked its ear towards Crion.

“Chase him down and when you do…” He smiled gleefully as he added the next part.

Satsurikutenshi gave chase to the Demon Knight while Crion approached the worm lord.

“Welcome, my liege.” He bowed before the grotesque creature. A second later, the smaller worm on the ground leapt onto Crion and drove its own mouth into his ethereal skull. It had no effect, but he still gasped. “I…I don’t understand. I thought whoever granted you access to this dimension was granted three wishes…”

The large worm lord crept up to Crion until its horrible eye was but inches from his face. Then, a powerful telepathic message crept into his mind.

"I, and only I, make the wishes now, my slave. My first wish… is for fresh hosts."

Chapter 9

1
Night had fallen when Chaos stumbled through the stinking swamp. Having discarded the shotgun sometime before, he now reached into a vest pocket for a plastic package. He retrieved it, then fumbled for it as it fell into the muck around his feet. He thrust one arm into the thick filth up to the elbow before he grasped something and pulled it up. The plastic package had a zip able lock. He opened it and dumped the contents into his relatively clean hand. Chaos then proceeded to munch on the string cheese, savoring the flavor of what would undoubtedly be his last meal for quite some time.

"I hate nature..." He said as he chewed the cheese and looked contemptuously at the swamp around him.

It was then he heard the high-pitched buzzing around him. He reached for the pistol attached to his belt, then stopped when he felt the cold metal on the back of his neck. It was then he knew he was dead.

"Don't move!" A somewhat robotic voice said.

Before Chaos could reply, he was knocked out cold.

2
Inside a dark cave…

Demon Child flew through the tunnels of Crion's underground fortress. He twisted and turned his wings and flew over a seemingly endless floor of rock and dirt. He thought about how Crion had tricked him into falling right into his trap and as he did, his rage grew. Finally, when he was certain the hallways would never end, he somehow made it to the last room where light from the outside fell onto the floor in a long rectangle. Here, he landed on his feet and ran for the exit.

Before Demon Child knew what hit him, a massive body hit him from behind and sent him flying into a wall.

As dust fell from the ceiling, the beast charged at Demon Child. His eyes widened as a massive hammer crushed one of his wings to mush. The beast before him was huge. Easily eight feet tall, it's head almost touched the ceiling of the underground area. It wielded its hammer like a baton, swinging it to and fro. It raised it over its head and scraped the ceiling. Sparks flew as it brought it down to smash Demon Child's body to a bloody pulp.

The demon was quicker and he pushed his body against the wall and used the propulsion to slide between the monster's legs. DC ran for the exit, his shattered wing dripping blood all over. He was on the third step when the monster grabbed his ankle. It lifted him upside-down and brought him to its face.

"Holy shit!" Demon Child exclaimed when he saw the monster for the first time in the light. It had no eyes. It had no mouth or nose or face, for that matter. Its "face" was a wrinkled lump of gray flesh that sweated sickening bile. Its stitch wrought chest heaved and at the same time, putrid sores dripped black puss until it seemed its body was invisible in the darkness. The beast smelled of death and rot. Just when Demon Child thought he couldn't get anymore disgusted, a long muscular appendage ripped from its forehead. It darted at Demon Child's eyes with a miniature maw of razor sharp teeth.

3

Eric Chaos Young awoke to find himself under an interrogation light. His arms were bound behind him as the bright blue radiance caused his pores to produce sweat. He heard a voice from the darkness. The man from whom it came was just hidden enough beyond the light that Chaos could not make out his face, but only his chin as it moved and the man's chrome uniform.

“Good to see you awake. Allow me to introduce myself. I am Admiral Scorn. You are aboard my ship, the Crimson Talon. You are an honored guest of the DACHOIL. This is the Dominion of Android, Cyborg, Humanoid, and Other Intelligent Life forms. Rest assured, we mean you no harm. We’ve simply come to this planet in response to a distress beacon sent by the locals. We’re in search of a dangerous life form that was picked up by our biological scanners shortly after entering the atmosphere. All that aside, are you ready to get started?”

“Piss off.”

“Excellent.”

4
Demon Child fought as the twisting maw of teeth finally bit into his cheek. It was then that a bloody roar escaped his throat. His eyes blazed with bloodlust as he reached up and dug his own teeth into the monster’s hand. It squealed in surprise and alarm, dropping the now frenzied demon. Taking full advantage of his chance, Demon Child charged the abomination, hitting it with enough force to send it to the ground. He proceeded to pummel its wretched skull into the floor. The beast protested, but Demon Child just drove his knees into its chest and kept it down with his full weight. The monster grasped for its hammer, but it was already fatally wounded. In the next five minutes, Demon Child had shattered its head and smeared its brains all over the floor. He lifted his sword Masamune over his head when he heard the whimpering. The monster was dissipating into a bubbling, gory muck. Demon Child, disgusted by the sight, headed for the entrance of the cave. He only blinked twice, trying to cast the sun’s glare from his eyes, before the crowd of android children arrived with Dark Roy and Shinitenshi.

DC, do you really have to reuse your character every time? ;)
(Also, I thought that these were all old up till this one, hence the 'new characters' statement I made earlier)

Yep. They're at BF.

This was a great read for the second time. Satsurikutenshi singing the second time is the part part of the whole thing (minus the worm lord... reminds me of that badass alien from Alies at the end of the movie.) Very very gute.

Yeeeeeah... I'll get around to adding to this sometime this weekend. Been very, very busy with English termpaper. Writing is absolutely the last thing I want to do when I get home... :alcoholic

But yeah. I definitely wanna finish this and continue the DK stories here. :)

Actually, here's a little bit more of what's to come. :P

5

The lead android halted before Demon Child. Its child-like exterior wasn’t needed because its true form was already discovered. It shifted to its full height of 7 feet. One hand grasped Shinitenshi by the back of his coat collar. The other held Dark Roy by the back of his neck. They were being dragged on the ground until the android reached this spot. Now, it opened its mouth in a shrieking noise that Demon Child merely shook off as he held up his sword, Masamune, and charged. The androids behind the leader leaped high into the air and dove at the charging demon. 12 robotic claws were soon trying to tear chunks of flesh from the demon’s hide. Demon Child simply sheathed his sword and grabbed at the terrors clawing at him. Their claws did nothing against his rock-like flesh as he smashed two robotic skulls together. The leader shrieked even more, dropped his captives, and ran to the aid of his companions. Soon, they were all in shattered pieces on the ground. Demon Child approached the unconscious Dark Roy and Shinitenshi.

6

“Go go go go go!” shouted the commander of the first strike force of DACHIL troops. They lowered from grappling hooks that hit the ground all around Demon Child. Lowering steadily from the three shuttles one hundred feet above, the troops were completely covered in body armor and equipped with miniature ion cannons capable of blowing holes in skyscrapers. All those weapons were currently aimed at Demon Child’s head. Although he had no idea of their power at the time, he knew when to put his hands up. After all, among the group were humanoids. He didn’t want to kill an endangered species.

“Step away from the hostages!” shouted the commander, a cyborg with a brain full of 400 GB of free space. His combat training included securing hostile situations and nothing else.

“They’re not hostages,” Demon Child replied. “What are you people doing here?”

“You have been ordered to step away from the hostages. You have 10 seconds to comply with this order or be blown to pieces.”

“That’s not gonna happen.”

“Ten…nine…eight…seven…six…five…four…”

Fingers, both metal and flesh, found their triggers and took sharper aim.

“Three… two… one… Open fi-”

All hell broke loose as the ground exploded around them. Black tentacles about 3 feet wide and seemingly infinitely long flew into the sky and wrapped around the shuttles. Visible electrical disturbance began as blue light danced in the sky and the engines shut off. The shuttles were dragged towards the earth at incredible speed.

“You’re coming with- where’d he go?!” shouted the commander as he realized Demon Child was gone. A second later he realized his fifteen fellow troops were gone. Another second later and a shuttle crashed upon him, smashing his cyborg body to a bloody pancake that sparked like a Christmas tree.

Chapter 10

Demon Child ran through the wilderness with Dark Roy and Shinitenshi positioned over each shoulder. He trudged almost a mile through a swamp that stank something horrible before he came to a stop at a mound of dry dirt. He put Shinitenshi to the ground, then realized something was wrong. This man was melting before his very eyes. His skin was turning to a violet yellow mix that seemed to screech into DC's cerebral cortex. The ground began to take on the gooiness of a melting marshmellow. The sky flashed a rainbow of colors from the deepest crimson to the brightest blue. Demon Child's head was spinning. To his right, Shinitenshi disappeared into a kaleodoscope of color, swallowed alive by the ever changing dirt. To his left, Dark Roy seemed to ascend into the sky like he'd been flicked by some invisible hand. Left alone, the demon's legs wavered beneath him and he began to run out of sheer terror into the swamp. Racing, not knowing where he was or where he was going, he just kept moving. Finally, he came to an end. The swamp seemed to flow over a cliff as if it was a giant, mushy waterfall. Demon Child had know strength left as he plummeted over the side.

Everything went black.

2

Demon Child bursts from his deep trance. He is in the embrace of Traken. Protosschick99 screams from some distance place.

PC99- Wake up, DC! WAKE UP!!!

Traken- I'll squeeze the life out of you, demon!!!

In a second, everything comes flooding back to DC. He whips around and pulls Traken's robot claw off his neck and flings the android into the asphalt twenty feet away.

DC- We're heading for a hotel... Traken just came out of the bank. He must of hit me somehow, but how? It was all so real... the world. It was destroyed... A demon... Carnage's daughter... It was... all a dream?

Shankz appears to DC's right and looks into his eyes.

Shankz- It must've been induced by this poison. <He holds up a syringe> You ran to hit Traken and he shoved this into your neck. You were stroking out for about 3 seconds. We thought you were done for. It's good to see you're okay!

Demon Child nods.

DC- I won't be okay until I finish something...

He marches over to Traken who squirms to his feet.

Garth- <standing with PC99, Shawn, Garth, Shankz, Carnage, and Redsoldier> Mess him up, DC!

Traken- No! Get away!

Demon Child picks Traken up, sets him to his feet, and dusts him off with one broad claw. The android is baffled.

DC- Have you come to fight us alone?

Traken- Y-yes! Only my power is needed to-

DC- Good. <He picks Traken up by his hair, turns him around so his back is facing the demon's grinning face, and plants him back on his feet> Go.

Traken- What?!

DC- Get out of my sight. You've given me a new perspective on life from such a little syringe. In return, I'll give you a running start. 1 day. You have 1 day to get as far away from us as you can. Then... we're coming for you. Now... run.

Traken was about to protest, then he stood up to his full height and nodded his understanding. Without further hesitation, he ran as fast as he could.

PC99- <coming up to Demon Child's right> That was really... nice of you... strange... but nice. So, what was so eye opening about this dream you had?

DC- It's a long, long story. One I would mind not telling for awhile.

PC99- Fair enough. Where do we go from here?

DC- Well. We could always go with plan B and pimp out Garth for 2 dollars a trick.

PC99 just smiles and wraps her arms around her friend in a hug. They then turn back to the group and continue on their way down the street.

Carnage- HEY! Garth's tricks are worth 2 dollars more than you offered me!

Garth- Well, I'm a sexy bitch. What have you got?

Carnage- I got the tendrils, man. They have to be good for something.

Shankz- Yeah. Picking your nose.

Carnage- Oh you goat molester.

Shankz- Yes I am.

The group shares a good laugh and Demon Child privately revels in outright joy in finally returning to his own time, his own home, and his own family.

Hmm. interesting. I have read all through Deranged Evolution and Return to Oblivion (the only two stories with Traken's character in them) and I haven't found anything that matches the scene with the Demon Knights fighting Traken alone.

Then that would be in Chapter 2 of Deranged Evolution part 1 The Return but in that chapter there is nothing that gives off the impression of DC attacking or getting attacked by Traken. Though unless Traken has a father to which the Demon Knights killed before then the only one would could have injected the venom would be Phoenix back in chapter 1. Hmm
