ALSO HOW TO SPEED UP YOUR COMPUTER: For Win Xp. (Might for for others)
I am not responsibe for any damages that your might accure while attempting to speed up you computer: And I wish nothing bad happens to your computer.
(Optional) Step 1: "MURDER THE MAINTANANCE APPS" Start by choosing the "System " icon on controll panel. There are three things to eleminate: System Restore, Automatic Updating, and Remot Assistance. Navigate each tabe and check or uncheck the appropriat boxes and select the appropriat radio buttons to cleanse your system of these largly useless applications.
Step 2: "Toss Out Windows Messaging" Ready to kill all that stupid little buddy icons that nobody uses? Choose Start and run, and type: C:\WINDOWS\INF\SYSOC.INF. Subtitute your Windows Directory if necessary. This will open a text file that maliciously hides some programs from Add/Remove Programs Folder. Find the line that starts with "msmsgs=" and edite the word "hide" out of it (Deleat the word "hide" and it should look like this:"msmsgs=msgrocm.dll,OcEntry,msmsgs.inf,,7"
Save the file (as the same name and location), and open Control Panel's Add/Remove Progarms, and click the Windows Components Button. Scoll down, and you'll find Windows Messanging just waiting to be unchecked.
Step 3: "Purge Unnecessary Services" Open Controll Panel, select Administrative Tools, and then and select "Services". Here youll see a list of things running in the background to enable certian functions of Windows XP. Some start automaticaly, and you dont need all of them. Turn them off by setting them to Manual: right click on service, and choose properties, pull down the box Startup type box, and select Manual. Somefunctions you will need turn off include Automatic Updats, Error Reporting, Indexing, Internet connection fire wall (unless your using it), Messanger, NVIDIA Driver Helper, Portable Media Serial Number, System Restore , and task scheduler.
(Man I need to take a break.)
Step 4: "Reign the Swap File" XP is conservitive when it first steps up the paging file and then uses precious resources to resize it. Take that control out of Windows' hands by making ure own Swap File huge static. Open Controll Panel and choose System, select the Advance Tab, click on the Performence setting button, and go to the Advance Tab, There you can set youre own swap file size. If you have a large drive and enough free space make it 1000MB. Choose The Change Button and make both the intial And Maximum Size 1000MB. Otherwise , make it large as possible. Youll have to reboot when your done.
(Ok Last Step and I didnt took my break yet.)
Step 5: "Get Ride Of Those STUPID START UP ITEMS" Finally, you can purge your system tray of silly files by hiting them were they live: in startup folder and "run" registry by hitting start button and then choosing run. Type MSCONFIG. Choose luanchers from Realplayer, MusicMatch, WinAMP, Kazaa, Microsoft office, and other useless functions. The beuty of this system confiiguration utility is that if you uncheck something and discover the part of the system that doesnt work, all you have to do is go back and check it again.
(Thats its Im going to take my break now, sorry if you find any misspelled words or any bad grammer you might find)

Next time, ask a mod to move a thread instead of just reposting it in a different forum.
