Can you name individual units?

I'm currently amking some maps, and I was wondering if there was a way to rename individual units, rather than the defauly which renames all units of the same type and for eacxh side. it would make my life a little easier if i could do this!

are you talking about map only or mods?
cuz if you're planning doing that in a map... it's imposible... if it's a movie map you can just not typing anything in the unit's name and when it talks type the name you wan't it to have, like with the medic in The Shifters...

i wish it were possible, but it just isnt. it would be reallyt cool to just place a unit and in the the properties dialog enter that individual unit's name, but unfortunately there isnt a way that i know of.

You could make the unit that you want into a hero, but change the stats to the regular unit. For example, if I was using Gui Montag, I would rename him, change his stats to that of a normal firebat, and press ok. Instantly renamed unit!:D


But other than that, there is no way.:cry:

but there are units like ghosts and bcs that have no hero looking like them... they have legendary heroes... but bw units like valkiery and devourer don't even have any hero... how sad...
