View Full Version : How could Diablo 2/Exp have been better? (Even if it's only wishfull thinking.)

I think there is many possible things that would make diablo more fun. Lets here some of yours and well here one of mine:

I think after you kill Baal you should go back to act 4 and unlock three new quests. Say Diablo when he entered the gate didn't kill Bellial and Azmodan but just imprisoned them. So with Diablo and his generals dead plus the soul stone destroyed, the dark binding magic slowly dissipate. Tyreal says at the world stone while you were busy saving your world Bellial and Azmodan have escaped. and destruction’s end should be a portal that takes u to a waypoint that is in an unreachable part of hell accept for through the portal or a waypoint. And it will be based in act 4 so u can go back to pandemonium fortress. and Jamela and Halbu with actually talk and gossip. SO the first bonus quest is retrapping Bellial and Azmodan. As they have no soul stones they will keep having there sprit reincarnate in a new better body like every evil demon lord. (BLAH BLAH I WANT YOUR BLOOD) Any way the second could be entrapping Azmodan if Bellial was quest one. or it could be finding a special weapon to destroy them permanently. it could be hidden in the fabled "abyss" with Andariel’s and Duriel’s hell born forms guarding it. Ex. The Ether Blight!

A sword carved from the "divinity stone" (heaven's equivalent to the world stone and source of all there power, perhaps what soul stones are made from) anyway the final quest has to be Bellial and Azmodan escaping "again" and then raising armies and attacking each other. so your in this citadel which is ground zero and all these demons are pouring in and after you destroy several generals from both sides the quest is completed. THEN THE MUST HAVE!! THE EL GRANDE OF THE GAME. AN AWSOME DUEL OF THE FATES! BELLIAL AND AZMODAN FIGH IT OUT ONE ON ONE ON THE CITADEL FLOOR. DEMONS IN THE STANDS CHEERING! THEN AFTER A SEVERAL MINUTE FIGHT TYREAL WIELDING THE ETHER BLIGHT (CAUSE HIS SWORD IS GONE WHEN HE DESTROYED THE WORLD STONE) AND HE KILLS THEM BOTH AND THEN EVERYTHING IS LIKE BLAM BLAM THE CITADEL GOES UP IN A DIGITAL FIRE WORK SHOW. !!! BLIZZARD WIN A TECHNO OSCAR FOR THE CINEMATIC!!! EVERY ONE GOES YEAH. "THE END"

But what if some one kept freeing Bellial and Azmodan? did Deckard cane really evade the monsters in Tristram and then just get put in the cage. I mean the demons are like semi all knowing so they could set it up right. And we don't see him when all the big stuff happens. but he is presumably in town. but a Horadrim or demon could use imagery magic! "SO AT THE END OF THE CINEMATIC IT SHOWS DECKARD CANE AT THE VAULT OF INFINTY (some special place of relevance, maybe under the pandemonium fortress??) HE HAS FANGS AND HIS EYES ARE GLOWING RED!! THE GATES OPEN THERES THE DIVINITY STONE!!! (Or some other super special artifact) THEN WE ZOOM IN ON DECKARD'S FACE.(presumably him) HE SPITS AND ROARS THEN THE SCREEN GOES BLACK!! 'BOOM' DIABLO III COMMING SPRING 2005"

Well thats it. A rant but still an idea, what do you think?

What makes you sure Tyreal survived the destruction of the world stone?

Man, don't bring Cain into this. Let the old man die in peace, not become's Diablo's incarnate.

Thx tRiX, also DoomBringer and RogueRed make valid points, It could just as easily be Hadriel or another Arch Angel if Tyrael was killed. Also yes Cane has been through alot, but I'm saying whos to say it's realy Cane or maybe he was possesed by Kabraxis, or even Cane is an acolyte of Kabraxis. If he realy died in tristram his body could be used to house even Kabraxis himself, well maybe not. His body would have been dust by the end of Act 3. Well anyway thanks for the input I apreciate it, but hey lets here some ideas of your own. (If you don't know who Kabraxis is read the Diablo novels.)

I thought it was Deckard Cain?

Also very good ideas, but with the ending to D2 as it is, it is nice that a D3 is open. Hopefully with a more in-depth storyline and many more quests that are fun to do and not just a bothersome chore threw a mob of monsters. ^^

I would really like it if hey would fix the picture mix up in Act 4.

I think I would really have liked to see more variety in dungeons. Also I slightly darker atmosphere for Act 5, like they show on the box ;).

*Laughs* Not that rumor again... I'm no expert, but that is the poorest thought up creature...

But on topic: I think they need to find more uses for the potions you find lying round. Who uses those often? I actually used some today, and they are good for crowd control at lower levels, but later, they suck... I think blizz needs to find a way to incorporate them a little more o.O

The potions are amazing for quick cash later on in the game. They stack really well, and if you pick up every damage-type potion(ie. strangling gas), you can usually get a nice sum of money off of them to use for repairs. Although certain characters may never need much money (ie. sorcs don't usually need a lot of money as they rarely have much to repair), I know for a fact my Paladin always did :P.

However, with the measly damage they do, it's not feasible to use them as weapons, you're right :p.

Just grab a wand or armor and sell it for 35k :p

Interesting ideas, but I doubt a little thing like blowing up the worldstone wouldve killed Tyreal -- he can come and go as he wishes after all.

What makes me wonder is that Hadriel (is that right?) is there for diablo -- before he dies, and then Tyreal is there for Baal after he dies, and that could be of some signifigance... Like Hadriel takes Diablo soul, and then Tyreal does the same (and therefore explains why he destroys the worldstone)

And while it may not be right for DIablo/Hadriel, You would think that Baal, the Lord of Destruction, who has taken over the most powerful mage to date's body (Tal'Rasha's) that he would be able to overcome a simple thing like dieing ;)

I'd like the game to get a new expansion, with all new base items, uniques, sets etc, and the characters should be evil instead of good (new skills and charcter types), and have an evil story-line too, and some arena for duels. (good bad can be in the same game only in duelgames or whatever.)

The expansion should have been just a little less "difficult".
Cause I thought Diablo 2 was hard enough.
LOD was just impossible, and I never really had the patience to finish It.

And extra notice.
Diablo 1 held a much more classical and more fun style.
So I´m always gonna be D1 fan rather D2/LOD fan.

IMHO, LOD made the game a lot easier. It added in items like Windforce, and incorporated powerful runewords like Fury, that made the game overbeatable (in the original game, you could never get items so good that beating the final boss in Hell difficulty became accessible to the common player). While it still took hundreds of hours to trade and fully equip your character, it was still possible for every player to solo the game.

that was just his opinion, dont mess with him for it. diablo 2+LOD should have had a WAY better stash! maybe the space is good, but there shouldn't be a limit for gold storage. or maybe a very high limit... maybe 1,000,000? :p (btw, wuts imho?)

As you said.

Large gold stash allowance.

I think they should have made Baal look cooler and added more monsters. Baal just looks so retared. maybe a few more cg scenes. one after each act is kinda lame like make one for when you defeat that angel dude in act 4 and one for the council members in act 3 that would make it way better. But thats just my opinion.

So you're saying you'd prefer a cinematic for every quest?

Uuugggg

Once you get so far in the game, it's just accumulating better equipment and skills. You go do Cow/Mephisto/Blood runs, and that gets very boring... If there were reasons to go do every quest again, it would be better... I mean, I think the most fun in Diablo is playing all the way through, no super leveling and no skipping quests. Yupyup...

well the hardest aspect of creating a game is to allow for the replayability of it.
and especially with online, ladder-based gaming such as Diablo, it's hard to setup a long, varied sort of design for people.. especially with the amount of time people put into it.

One thing they could do to add a little more fun to the game could be add actual people in there there so you could battle more then just monsters.. Of course they would have to be computer controlled, it would still add a little more to the game. They should be actually characters (barbarian, necromancer, assassin, ect.) but maybe they would fight for the evil side instead of the good side.

replying to aj no i do not want a cg after each quest but the major ones like for what i already said and blood raven or the sewer dude in act 2 but i wouldn't ant one for when you do that stupid potion quest in act 3 or for the horadric malice only for a few more important or interesting ones. oh yea and uhh aj you can skip cg scenes so it wouldnt be a big deal with the game if you want it the sameas it was just skip them

*cringes in corner*

Uhh... you mean like... The smith? Or that guy in Trsitram? Or the summoner? Or the ancients? Or... I could go on ;)

Some of those are semi-human, and a few are completely human. So... there you go.
