How do I install IceCC

Ok I put the file "icecc-1.2b1-win32" into my C:\ directory like it says in the instructions (right clicked on start, clicked "explore", single clicked on "Local Disk (C:)), and double click on all the "IceCCUI", "icedc" and the "icecc".) All they did was quickly open Command Promt and Closed it. ???. I checked on the start menu\all programs camelot systems and IceCC wasnt there.

Help. PLZ

IceCC is a command line program, and needs a bit more information to run properly. The conventional way to run it is from the command line, typing in the commands about which files to extract and that sort of thing, but most people find that positively annoying.

One way to use it is with the Iscript Assistant, which is very similar to what I use currently. You'll find a download to it in the last post of this thread here:

It works a lot like the MPQ Compactor, although I still have yet to write a full description of how to use it.


The other way is by downloading Java, from the customs resources page at StarCraft.org. Then when you run IceCCUI you'll get a nice interface. This will probably be better for you if you can download 5 MB without too much hassle.

I had problems with it too. I would get it installed and all that, but when i went to extract data, i would get an error...... I gave up and used command line, it was actally kinda fun. I spent about 3 hours just to get the zergling info..... But now i quit modding cause i had no idea how to do somethen that i saw in other mods and no1 would help....... I understand some of it now.... But i quit

lol, yes, a lot of people drop out of modding because it does seem hard. I try to tell people to slow down and focus on the possibilities with what they can do, but they never listen... oh well.
