The official game of the US military!

Anyone play it? I would, but I'm currently sticking to CS, one of the training courses is bugged for me. (If you can beat the obstacle course, I'll give you my pass so you can help me out. :))

Played it quite awhile ago, I've finished all the training courses, but the multiplayer just got boring. I'd rather play Full Spectrum Warrior.

You know where that game came from?
Based of Ender's Game...Army thought it would use it to look at people with potential command abilities. I'll find the link to the news article and post it.

NY Times Cites Ender's Game Influence in Military Training

http://www.hatrack.com/images/pixel_trans.gifhttp://www.hatrack.com/images/pixel_trans.gifhttp://www.hatrack.com/images/pixel_trans.gifOne notion involves a scenario quite literally torn from the pages of a science fiction novel, in which a virtual training system becomes the actual means of waging war. Ender's Game, a cult classic by Orson Scott Card, tells the story of a group of young soldiers battling aliens in a video game. In the end, they emerge to find that their victory has saved humankind, and that it was not a game.

"Ender's Game has had a lot of influence on our thinking," said Michael Macedonia, director of the Army's simulation technology center in Orlando, Fla., which plans to build a virtual Afghanistan that could host hundreds of thousands of networked computers. "The intent is to build a simulation that allows people to play in that world for months or years, participate in different types of roles and see consequences of their decisions." I heard that they were looking for "military capabilities" in that game, but I never knew it was a real thing. I tried to get AA on my old computer, and obviously it didn't work. For now though, I'm sticking to Cstrike and my other games.

wewt! month-old thread! :)

I played it back in the spring, and it sucked. I got through all the training stuff just fine, and then started playing multi-player, and it was just boring. Maybe I didn't give it a fair shot, but it just never grew on me the way other games do.

Is there single player in the game?

Training mode. You do all the real training courses (101 Airborne, Parachute Air Drop, ect.), but the real meat of the game is in the Multiplayer.

Couldn't play AA on my old computer, maybe something to try out with the new one :). I'll let you guys know if I get it/can finish the training.
