This is not only a proud moment for me - my most well-earned victory so far - but a pretty funny replay. And instructive. Watch and learn now Ghosts own Terrans, even with the world's worst micro. :)

Any replay that involves battlecruisers, tanks, and ghosts played on bloodbath also involves newbies.

Only newbies could play on Blood bath for over an hour, huh? Well if that's the case I'm proud to call myself a newbie.

I take it you don't like FFAs. And you're incridibly insecure about your sexuality. :concern:

how does using gay as an insult make him insecure about his sexuality? are you stupid?

skapare, a word of advice. if you truly, like your sig says, like long, slow games where neither side is able to get any kind of advantage for a long time...than go play wc3, and stop playing sc. wc3 is a 'dumbed down' version of sc, designed for the masses of people like you, who cant keep up with or dont like the fast pace of sc. im not saying youre 'dumb' if you play wc3, but its a slower-paced game that i think you might enjoy more...or at least, stop playing on maps like bloodbath, which are intentionally designed to be even FASTER paced than normal starcraft...play ffas on LARGE maps, not small.

Big maps would work, they usually do, but that's just what made this game so special. Nobody expected it to be long, until my ally dropped out after 20 seconds maybe. :)

And, I've been rushed equally quickly in both SC and War3. There's nothing in either game that forces you to play in a certain way.

And poof, I have noticed that everyone who uses the word "gay" as an insult are either unsure about their sexuality or just stupid. I didn't want to insult him, being new on the boards and all. . .

I remember when gay used to be a good insult, but now it's cool to be gay because society no longer looks down upon immoral activity.

Skapare
09-05-2004, 2:00 PM
Yes, it does, but society's moral standards has evolved.

One more thing, it's pretty absurd to condemn a game concept just because you don't like it. Regardless if you think it is immoral, stupid, lame, a menace to society or whatever it's your opinion, but you state it as if it were a fact. I'd be more careful with that sort of thing if I were you, it makes you look stupid.

You're an idiot. Just shut up. You don't know anything about how to play on blood bath. Congratulations on owning an even bigger newbie than yourself. Next time I'll remember to say that any blood bath game that lasts more than 10-12 minutes is "stupid," so that I don't offend you ******-lovers.

To summarize, you're a retarded homphobe who doesn't have the patience to wait out an opponent or the comphrehension to make an argument for your cause, and I'm a newbie who doesn't like to play the same way as everyone else. And you're calling me an idiot.

Sambo83
09-06-2004, 4:25 AM
why would you "wait out" your opponent? Especially on bloodbath? The point is that any good player would have just owned you while you were busy "waiting him out." If you don't want to realize this, and you still think that you just have a "different style" then I guess there's no helping you.

Skapare
09-06-2004, 4:46 AM
Oh, we're done name-calling? Good. Now, I do realize that. I chose to play a waiting game here, it is a style that's different from the popular, and it doesn't make you win a lot. What kind of help do you suppose I need?

And please tell me, what would you do exactly? Watch the replay and tell me how the winning player would be beat.

oh sorry.. I just sortof assume that everyone who comes here wants to improve, and thus win more, and thus have more fun.

I'll check out your replay tomarrow when it isn't 5am.

skapare, you are assuming that playing a long, slow paced game is different than the usual. you are both right and wrong. if you are taking the sc community as a whole, 99% of the games played have the kind of game you are talking about in mind...all of the games played by utter noobs on money maps with no rush 20 rules. but if youre talking about SERIOUS starcraft, which is what this section of the forum is about, then yeah i suppose what you want isnt 'usual'...but if thats what you want to do, just go play pubbies on east, and post in the debriefing room.

Sambo:

I shall share a little wisdom that I've learned in 10 years of owning at Street Fighter 2:

If you fight to win, you have already lost.
In fearing defeat, you fail as a warrior.
To enjoy a battle, you must go beyond victory.

I could have mentioned that earlier, maybe put it in my sig, but I didn't think of it until now, that you've already figured out the essentials of it.

Well met tomorrow, then. :)

Jorix:

Alas, I play on Europe.
But it's funny, I've never seen those 99% of games. Maybe because I don't want to see them. See, the whole point of a long game is for the map to run out of money, make each and every blow count.

Jorix
09-06-2004, 5:02 AM
well, the level of play is quite different on each server...from the highest on uswest, to the lowest on useast. if you want to enjoy your games more, you should probably go over to useast.

and its quite easy to find those games. just hit the 'join' button, and then make sure the gametype is on 'melee'. join anything that isnt on lost temple or has comp stomp in the title. ^^

Skapare
09-06-2004, 5:10 AM
Lost Temple is much to my taste actually. Maybe an aquired taste as that's where 90% of my games end up. . . but it has pretty good possibilities for all sorts of games.

Thanks anyway, I'll look at USEast. But I'm worried about lag.

Jorix
09-06-2004, 8:03 AM
yeah, some of the people in europe have been getting mad lag on useast the past few days for some reason, but its been fine for me

Any1 care 2 share their popcorns?
I'm just sitting here 2 see where the 'movie' goes... ;)

Skapare,

Many of the games at SC over the B.net are about usin' opponent flaws 2 gain advantage so ur kind of game "ain't that usual" as I believe u've said it.
Thus the wall-in appeared 4 the Terrans 2 counter rushes or the worker scoutin' / harass foe's workers n' so on... see why we aren't used 2 see what u called a 'good game'?
