Yes, I've read all three. The first one was my favourite, and I thought that Shadow of the Xel'Naga just... well... sucked. =\ The other one was okay, but not great.

By the way, this should be in the SC forum.

((I knew there were SC books! :)))

Can you get the books at Ebay? I'm too lazy to go there anyway.

The third is The Speed of Darkness and it's supposedly better than the other two. I've only read SoX'N and I was severly disappointed that Blizzard would let Kevin J. Anderson release such garbage. :/

Speed of darkness is OK, certainly not the trash that is SotX. Liberty's Crusade is my favorite though.

Speed of Darkness confused me. He was sad about killing a Zergling because in the Bible it said that killing was a sin. Still an awesome book tho. I agree that #2 was crap. It barely had anything to do with Starcraft, in my opinion.

But the first one is ALWAYS the best. In every series. Even mine (#0 lol, #1 was the worst).

I liked all three books, although the third one was my favorite. I might buy the WarCraft series, but thats for another thread. Shadow of the Xel'Naga isn't THAT bad...we just don't understand it fully. Liberty's Crusade is a good book, but most of the stuff you already know if you played the original StarCraft Campaigns.

I'd like to read the book, but I can't seem to find it anywhere, since they are so old...

I read the book. I understood the book. I thought it sucked.

It lacked a cohesive plot and sounded more like a cheap excuse to see the three races fight each other. Anderson and his wife wrote it like their only reference was the gameplay itself.

The Zerg attacked the settlement and lost. The Swarms obliterated Tarsonis, but can't quell a few bumpkins armed with farm equipment and pitchforks? The best they could do was infest a dog and dub it the "Roverlisk"?

Xel'Naga experiment that consumes the genetic material of other Xel'Naga creations in order to sustain itself. Nice artifact, especially since hundreds of beings died over it.

What is there to not understand? It's pretty straightforward stuff. It was not a good book.
