Hello!
I found my old original Starcraft beta CD. I've tried it and the CD is fine, and the cd-key works. Now I'm thinking that maybe it could be worth something. Do you thnink anyone could be interested? This is the first version that I got FedExed to med from Blizzard after I signed up for the beta test. I have pictures if wanted.

I didn't know beta cds still work. Most, that I heard of can't play, but are only collectors edition items.

The beta version was online only, so you won't be able to play it, unless you manage to tweak it.
If you really want to try selling it, I would suggest using e-bay as well.
could you upload it somewhere? many people would like to download it to see the mpq files
I heard it is possible to play it if you make your own server
I think that people from sclegacy.com wanted to upload the beta on their server so anyone could download it. Unfortunately they didnt knew anyone who had the beta.

So who exactly is interested in this Beta CD? Once SoulSeek's server is up and running again, try contacting me there. My screenname is Hunta_nl. I have two images of the Beta CD available for download. I don't think it's illegal to offer them, or is it?

what is soulseek?Like Hunta said. It's a similar app 2 Kazaa or iMesh but better 'cause it hasn't all those adds and/or spyware inside it that get the file more HD consuming! The installer file that I've got (v1.52) fits inside a diskette.

Try and talk 2 him 2 see the results. If u wanna tell him who sent u, I'm Zull_Era at slsk. I've just spoke 2 him and he added u 2 his user list. He's having a few server probs.from what he told me... folks abused it and he shut it down 4 a while! :o

I'm quite interested in the Starcraft beta (Siege Tanks attacking air... YEAH!)
It would be nice if you could put it up for DL, and if someone could set up a server that would be awesome. The main problem is how unbalanced it is.

Follow the link Hunta provided in post #13 (this same thread) n' dl it from there. It's free! The only prob. with my version (1.52) is that sometimes when u close the app badly (ctrl-alt-del mainly) it may lose ur buddy list and some of ur dl file links... that can be (at least) partially fixed if u have another file with their usernames. ;) I do so (with an *.xls file)!
Add: I replace the users lacking from their names that I stored in the backup file.

When using GMail, I have to upload it and chances are it can fail, because I have to stay online for something like an hour or two. I prefer using SoulSeek for the reason that if halfway the downloads stops because of a disconnect, the next time the download can be resumed where it left off.

What Hunta said is also acomplishable by dl manager applications. I use a ripped version of WS_FTP. Wait... I shouldn't have said this, because it's an 'engineered' version. *Sigh, whissles 2 disguise out the crap*

Is there any other way to download the CD image?

I hope I dont have to share anything (say 3gb) because on this computer I have 6gb on hard disc -_-

Give me your username on SoulSeek and I will add you to my userlist. Perhaps it helps. Or you could wait for Kingreaper (BF member) to spread it via the Torrent network. Or ask either Kaervek or Phatdiddy (you know them both I think), they have the image now as well.

Trust me, this version I have works (as in: you can install it) and it's free :)
You will not have to share anything.
No patches are required. As for the CD-key, you can use the one you got with StarCraft.
I'm usually online somewhere in the afternoon till evening (GMT+1).
Like I said to UED77, it is perhaps a good idea if you gave me your username on SoulSeek.

No, it isn't a sharing app like DC++... If u wanna u can even don't place a shared folder. But I don't advise on this 1, since some folks, in slsk, that accept ur dl from them gonna check ur files either n' if u don't share they'll probably cut ur dl's out. ;)

The weirdness wil eventually wear off... :poke: Did ya know that it has also a chat feature, like mIRC? It's very useful 2 talk 2 some1 u know and want 2 ask him a file or somethin' else. :D

Considering that the last time BMartins came to the site was almost a year ago, I highly doubt you'll be seeing those MPQs. ;)
