As you may note, fileplanet has teamed up with Blizzard to host the stress test (smart move on Blizz's part as far as bandwidth problems go). Although I, personally, would never buy a fileplanet account, this could be an opportunity for some of you.
However, what really gets me about this stress test signup is that it means the retail is creeping up around the corner. As most of you know, the final stage in a beta test is the stress test (finalizing the servers and testing the server load to avoid server crashes on release). The fact that the signups are being advertised means that we will likely see the North American WoW release within the next month or two.
On another note, this means that Vivendi's 'urging' may have worked, and we'll likely receive an unfinished game (by unfinished, I mean unfinished by Blizzard's standards, or in other popular MMOG terms 'completely and utterly finished ready for retail 3 months ago').

Yes, it certainly does seem that Vivendi has succeeded in hustling Blizzard into release. Whether or not this is a success will be interesting to note, although I imagine the few extra faults in WoW caused by the earlier release date and less testing will be flushed out in a month or two of gaming.
But yes, WoW could be released today and be more developed than other MMO's at release, thanks to the brilliance and user-friendliness of Blizzard. I wish 3DO was like this, that way I'd have me a GOOD new HoMM game ;)

I don't know if this excites me. I'd much rather see another polished blizzard game come out then one with muchos glitchos. Not to say that blizzards other games are perfect either, but usually when Blizzard releases something, it is at a much higher standard than every other game released at the time. Very rarely do you see a blizzard game glitch to the point where you have to pay for it. IE: Units rarely get "stuck" (in trees/buildings etc.) unless YOU make the mistake of getting them stuck there. You don't have the common...walk through buildings crap that you get in other companies games either.
While i eagerly await WOW I am unsure as to whether or not the speed of this release is a good or a bad thing...however..as a already have a fileplanet account.....SCORE!

That's the idea BlueMicrobyte. However, there are many people that refuse to buy and play monthly for a game that is still not finalized and finished. I honestly don't mind because even the unfinished version is pretty kickass, but others feel it would be a waste of their money.

but blizzards not gonna tell the common person that its unfinished, and if they did, they could make an expansion for it that finishes it and adds stuff right?
