Hi all,

Yesterday I've just download the WCG 2004 official maps. I played it on 1v1 against a friend of mine. Anyway, please post your critique and tactic suggestion on how I play and you can post your replay on the same map so we can help each other out.

I watched the first 9 minutes of the PvP, but then I got sick of how much you both completely blow. The only piece of advice I can give you at this point is to learn build orders, watch pro replays, and don't make 2 cybercores at 25 supply to start upgrading air weapons and armor and pump carriers off 1 base. Wtf, that has to be the most retarded thing I've ever seen.

1.try to split drones so all of them mine minerals from different patches, this is important in zvz, because it allows you to make the spawning pool few seconds faster
when you have 2 hatches and the same amount of lings as your opponent, you dont need to make 2 sunkens. Plus 2 sunkens cost 350 minerals, so your opponent can just expo freely (to the mineral expo)
when you see that your opponent collects gas, start collecting asap, because you will have problems later in muta wars (unless you can scrouge well)
after killing most of his drones you should just pressure him with 2hatch lings (or even3hatch lings)
after getting such an advantage you should put your third hatchery in the mineral only expansion
to be frank I didnt understand why did you make two evolution chambers and queens nest, when you could have killed him with mutas (attack drones)
set rally points near your opponents base, so you get reinforcements without having to search for them

2 evo chambers give useful upgrades. 2 cy cores dont, unless its like pvz on an island map.

Even then 2 cy core is stupid. You need a stargate and a robo or 2 stargates and soon after, a robo. You don't have enough gas to get both air upgrades... unless it's a map like.... hmmmm there's one I'm thinking of that's twilight tileset and it's island to get to your opponent but you have a gas expo that you can walk to.. I'm sure there are several like this. They exacerbate the protoss advantage and let you do pretty much whatever you want, so 2 cy cores would be a possibility there.

triple fleet beacons when using scout/sair is perfectly acceptable, however.

2 cy cores is fine when all you are pumping is carrier/sair.

sambo are you thinking of the map 'isles of siren' ?

Cool then. How about 3 evo chambers in mid game? After you have 1-2 expos (besides your nat) ?

you dont need triple evo chambers really, you will never need to combine melee and ranged until you get to something like hydraultraling unless youre going sauron, and if youve gotten to that point, you have enough gas to have already won

Well I guess that must have been because I played 1v2 or 1v3 too often so I always pump upgrade and amassing armies before I open up an attack.

Don't you need 3 evo if you go Hydra Ultra?

hydraultra generally comes after ultraling, so youll only need 1 evo at that point since you already have 3/3 melee/carapace most likely...

i usually have 3 evos on maps that don't have gas at the natural expansion. if it does have gas expo, by the time i have my min only i will have 3 evos. it owns when you are playing sauron style.

hydraling is better than pure hydras i think (on equal resources)

If you go hydra/ling, most of the time your army should look like 36 hydras, 12 lings. The lings basically just serve as meat while your hydras do the beating. If you do the opposite and have lots of lings, and less hydras, 40 lings, 12 hydras, there is no reason not to use either mutes or lurks. Sure its a tech tree up, but they're far more useful and efficient.

Conclusion is, you only need 2 evo chambers...

As for the dual cybercore strategy, I've seen a friend of mine, SharD)User, go early expo, dual cybercore upgrade -> mass scouts vs a Zerg. I was laughing it up when that first scout popped out, but... they're surprisingly good -.- You can pick off olords easily, and they hit and run very well. He used all his spare minerals in massing speed/zealots, and won the game easily. So almost all strategies can be effective, as long as they dont see it coming.

Sorry about double post, but he also used Dweb -.- which was something I've never seen in an actual game = P

scouts. suck. unless u have 4 groups of 3-3-3 tech upgraded scouts...then theyre like impossible to stop............but then again that kind of goes for any ranged unit.......................

Scouts can harrass wandering overlord or sneak behind enemy minerals like mutas. I found scouts very helpful sometimes.
