I'm making this thread for people that need help with Mods, have questions, have ideas, etc. so they don't have to start another thread for Mod help. ;)

keep in mind, I'm not giving any information or anything because I am also a n00b when it comes to Modifies.

So yeah. Ask and answer questions in here. I'd also suggest this thread merged with the other "plz help me" threads and also have this stickied.

And for right now for people to get started, it'd be nice for people to post links of where to download some editing tools to help "some people" with Mods and Customs. *wink wink nudge nudge* :D ;) :)

Ask a question. What is it that you need/want to do?

Arsenal Series - Modifies the .DAT files. Controls unit stats.

StarGraft - Modifies the .mem files, allows you to add new buttons. 1.10 killed this program. Use MemGraft.

MemGraft - Modifies the StarGraft plug-ins to 1.10 compatable.

ICE Series - Modifies the iscript.bin file. This controls special effects, ect.

WinMPQ - Opens MPQ files.

MPQDraft - Recomplies MPQ files.

StarDraft - outdated CWAD modifer. Use Arsenal.

Anything else?

I don't agree with asking all modding questions in a single thread. Same with mapping questions.

But nice idea, maybe it might help people find the right modding resources. We probably will have an FAQ.

special effects, 'ey? :)

That'll help with the new spell/attack I'm thinking of adding for this map. :) :D ;)

That'll be good for the button too. Thanks.

I hate to correct you ZeroDarkStar, but StarGraft creates .pat files. MemGraft modifes .pat files to .mem to be 1.10 compatible. MPQDraft loads MPQs or creates a SEMPQ.

Oh, my bad. I'm not a modder, I was just using was I have seen over the last couple of months.

BST, an idea you can try, have a stickied thread here, with a post you can edit. Have links to every kind of editor we use. Also, all the protectors, and all the sites. That way, whenever someone asks (Which they will) where we got an editor or something, we can link to it. Then, when newer things come out, edit the post ^.^ Simple, no?

Exactly what I was thinking. But... I already maintain the customs resources page on StarCraft.org, which happens to be identical. hmmm... it seems like a stupid idea to do things twice. I'll think of a solution.

How about I manage the thread? I could keep the first post updated while you get rid of the clutter, yes? I'll go make it right now ;).
