View Full Version : Medieval RPG

Rules:
You first have to make a character, which you can message to me if the PM system is up.
You need:
Name
Social Class(Peasant, Knight, Royalty, ETC)
A biography. It can be as simple as 'Bob the peasant has led an uneventful life so far, just tending his crops', or as advanced as a miniature novel.
You can team up to have people work for people, and stuff like that, such as P1 is king, and has P2 + P3 as knights, P4 his prince, P5 a travelling merchant with P6 as a bodyguard, and then P6-9 being peasants under P1, or you can have everybody completely unrelated.
This will take place in Britain in medieval times, so when planning your characters, please keep that in mind.
Though you yourself can start events in this, by making your person do something, you can't make a dragon appear out of nowhere or something like that, or control other character's or NPC's responses.. That is something that I will do, as leader of the RPG.
If you have any questions, such as if a certain character types are allowed, just ask me, though don't spam the thread. For example, I will allow spellcasters or clerics, but in limited amounts, since they didn't really exist(or so we think ;) ), and thus will be used in moderation to keep this as realistic and fun as possible.
Players may control up to 2(Maybe 3 if things go well enough with 2) characters at a time. Any improper interactions between a player's characters will result in the removal of control of the second character, and they will either become an NPC or removed entirely.
Name: Geno of some British place ;) (I only used Geno so you don't have to look back at my Bio fifty times to learn my name x.x)
Class: Archer
Bio: I have worked under King Jackar for a long while, and grew tired of it. It didn't excite me, because I was the best bowman out of the troop. I grew tired of taking on every army in the front lines, taking out row after row. Nothing seemed to be hard anymore. I now set out on a journey to improve my skills even more, to become the best archer in the land.
Weapon: Long bow and quiver. Finely crafted, as I crafted it myself. The string is extra strong, but not strong enough to where I can still pull back and fire on it. The arrows themselves are my own work as well. I have learned how to make regular thick sticks into shafts and bird feathers into an arrow tail. They are decent arrows, but I could learn to make better.

PM all character requests to save space.
Luther Stark
Name: Luther Stark
Social Class: Council Elder
A biography: Luther grew up under the guidance of Blane's brother, Kurf. Kurf oversaw the council of elders that guided the king, Lord Blane. Stark was born into the world with light blond hair, however over the coarse of 53 years, the color slowly faded. Although weak in appearance, his gray eyes glisten with the youth of eternal knowdlege. He now and forever will serve under the king of the relm of Vestrum.
Geno
Name: Geno of some British place
Class: Archer(I'm counting you as a mercenary)
'My short dagger is my last protection after I run out of arrows. I am not highly skilled with it, but I can still land a striking blow with my speed. I am quick enough to get a few slashes off in a short time, but if I tried my hardest, I could be the best in the land. Without the proper training, I am not. In my quests, I will be also making this one of my better weapons. Currently, it's a low quality dagger, with only enough of a blade to barely pierce skin.
DraconicFiend

BlackHawk
Name: Neal
Social Class: Knight (Mercenary).
Bio: Neal is a mercenary knight, usually refered to as the "Black Knight" due to his full black armour set. He is the winner of many esteemed Jousting contests (though they are not just jousting), including the French "Gathering of Men," the contest during King Pierre's kinging ceremony (if that's what you call it), the English "Golden Crown," to the most recent "Golden Crown XII" competitions, and many others. And although Neal has no real affiliation, he tends to lean towards the English side in most wars, unless of course the other side can cough up a heafty amount of gold for his services.
Weapons: Neal carries his sacred "Nomician" sword, which is similiar in size to a double-handed sword but due to superior craftsmanship can be wielded with one hand (but by only the most expert of Knights). He is an outgoing guy who believes most strongly in love, honor, loyalty and above all friendship, having many close ties amongst all types of people living throughout all of England.
Nicholas never stays at home in his father's castle and instead intends to make his own wealth having unbelivable success at it in the form of land and strong economic ties to France and the Netherlands where he has tight relationships with the royalty and merchants there.
*Current status*
Queen Mary, who is married to King Henry V, put a terrible curse on Nicholas since the first time he saw from afar her riding in a carriage with her husband through the streets of London; her incredible kindness and beauty broke down any barriers that may have existed in his heart. The knowledge that she is married is but only a fleeting thought in his utter passion and affection towards her.
It has become almost, but not entirely, a modivating thought to gain her hand in love, even if it be just for a moment: a single touch of the hand, or a gentle caress across the face; that was all he asked for. But this forbidden love would never come into fruition when it be selfishly one sided.

Ok! Sorry for the delay, but I am here now.
Currently in medieval England, the feudal system is still current, so sorry to those of you who thought you could get supreme control of England. ;)
The most prominent of the estates are: King Henry(and Queen Mary) Lord Blane Lord Arche Lord Dostan Lord Reginald Lord Blutham Lord Arthur Lord Daniels Various bandit raiders
Other than the three that have a predetermined lord(or themselves), please choose one of these to follow under.
For now though....
Bandit activity has been increasing since the recent war between the estates of Lord Blutham and Lord Arche. It is currently late September, and it will likely be a cold winter. Most estates are preparing for any sign of the raiders, and anyone outside of a castle is trying to gain entrance, though most are smart enough to live in one already, and be a safe little peasant.

King Henry got up early, and stretched. The rooster crowed. The watchman yelled the hour. "Six in the morning and all is well!" "Quiet you loon!" he yelled. Henry smelled breakfast, down in the great hall. He dressed in simple garb, and
went down, outside into the morning air, and let himself into the great hall.
Hams sat on the feasting table, as well as bacon, eggs, pheasant, and duck.
Henry helped himself to a large tankard of ale and stacked his bread plate with bacon and duck, as well was eggs.

Queen Mary awoke gently and breathed deeply as her eyes opened. She looked about her chambers and already saw that her maidens had lit the fire place and set out her clothes for the day abroad.
Stretching, she sits up in bed only to find her favorite maid servant waiting on her at the foot of her bed with her robe. Her maid servant pulls back her covers with a smile.
"How was thy nights sleep my Queen?"
Mary smiles, "Oh it was peacful thank you. I trust you slept well too my dear?"
Catherine nods (OOC: That's her maid servant :D lolz) as she helps the Queen out of bed.
"Yes My lady, I rested well."
"Good." Says Mary as she smiles. The Queen puts her robe on and looks out the window. The day is quite beautiful. She takes in a deep breath and walks over to the edge of her bed where her ladies gathered around her to dress her for the day.
(OOC: Man I would hate to be a queen. Alwayz in those fancy clothes 24/7. And then there would be ppl waiting on you all the time....And they'd like dress you and do your hair......Man that would bug me after a while :p lolz)
* * * *
As Mary descended down to the Great Hall, she nodded and smiled in everyone's direction as a royal greeting. When she got to the doors of the great hall, she smelled the breakfast there and could already sense her husband and King's presence--Henry.
She entered the room with gracefulness and came before the King. Mary bows in respect and love.
"Good morning my King. How was thy nights rest? I trust thee slept well in proper company?"
(OOC: Trust me Scorchy, this is how the Queen's had to treat their husbands......Like they were subjects cuz really they were :p)

The sun was peaking over the horizon. It was late, for Louis anyway. He scanned the woods in front of him. His piecing green eyes skipped over wood, leaf, and rock until he found what he desired. A dead tree stump embedded just ahead of him. He casually walked to it as though he had all the time in the world. Quickly he began to dig underneath the stump. Working tirelessly he had dug himself underneath the stump. Louis pulled the soil in around him, until he was satisfied that he was completely hidden. Then he settled in for a day’s sleep.

Neal liked listening to the soft pit pat of his horse, Xethur, as it slowly walked along the dusty paths. It was very surreal, and beautiful, and quiet. It was easy for him to let his mind wander, thinking of his latest battle, or anything really.
I wonder when I'll get there he thought, looking ahead to see nothing but more of the silent forest swaying in the calm winds. I wonder if they'll remember me? If they'll remember who I was, they will be astonished. But they will be proud Neal thought, a grin spreading across his face.
His grin got wider as the peaks of towers rose up from behind the wall of trees. "Shouldn't be long now Xethur" mumbled Neal, patting the horses sides.

"My Prince," Rollins said most respectfully, "Several outlying villages are being attacked by maurading bands of raiders calling themselves the Norman Outlaws."
"Are they Normans?" questioned Nicholas.
"No mi'lord by all accounts. They are a rabbly group of thugs who are out only for greed and,"he hesitated at the next statement, "And rape sire." Silence ensued for a moment in Nicholas's high vaulted study chamber before replying, each word carefully said.
"Find these bastards. Bring them alive, dead, I dont care! Just bring me the head of the leader of the, Norman Outlaws."
"Yes mi'lord." Rollins backed out slowly out Nicholas' study room.
OOC: I think it would be better if we all talked normally instead of doing all this Old English stuff. I mean, if you know actually how to speak it and write it knowing exactly how to use, well then go ahead. But if your iffy on the grammar, then dont! because it just looks tacky.
I appear over the breaking dawn, with my quiver over my shoulder, along with my long bow. My dagger gleams from my holder on my leg, and I walk forward. I sense something going on about this world, but feel it's not important... At least not to me. Maybe someday I will feel that change. In the mean time, I feel like doing a bit of target practice. I pull off my backpack, and unfurl a few pieces of paper. I place them among some of the trees around me, and glance around from where I stand. I pull off my bow, and pull out five arrows. I load them all at once, and close my eyes. I then turn around, walk carfully about five or six full steps, turn, and fire. I hear a few *THUMP*'s and open my eyes. I notice every target except one has been perfectly hit.
"Darn. Guess I have to work on that a little more."
I go about the area, picking up each arrow and target. I make sure to check how well they were hit, if they were hit high, low, dead on, crooked, bent, and the like. I realize that the one target I missed was the one directly in front of me.
"Figures. I can hit anything but what's right in front of my face. I need some basics again... I'm getting rusty..."
I pull out another, fresh target, and load an arrow. I turn around hold the bow over my head, backwards, load it, and fire. I hear a pleasing *THUMP* and turn around. I have hit the target directly on.
"Hah! Simple enough... Why can't I do that every time...?"
I pull the arrow out, and the target down. I load up, and take a stroll through the woods, and find a clearing. I notice the sun coming up, and as it breaks the horizon, I dash to a tree, and climb it. I get towards the top, and turn to see it coming.
"Fressh day. Let's hope this day is worth living for. I can sense this world's changing, and I sense I might become part of that change... I pray that I can find my true destiny soon, and live to fulfill it."

"Hasn't changed much, figures she was never one to change anything" mumbled Neal as he came through the gates of Queen Mary, and King Henry's castle. The flags whipped in the air, proudly displaying their fire emblems to the world.
A guard hurried over, obviously not paying attention or zoning out. "Halt!"
Neal stopped and he turned to face the man.
"What is your business here, we are not hosting a tournament any time soon, Black Knight."
"I am not here for a tournament, I am here on business, which does not concern you, it concerns the royal family. Now if you will be so kind as to take my horse" said Neal, as he dismounted his horse and held out the reins for the man, "to a good stable, and guard him with your life, I will be most grateful. As will you, since you won't loose your life.
"And it would also be nice if you could summon the royal family. Tell them an old friend has stopped by."
"Ahh..." began the guard, unsure of what to do.
Neal's hand slowly moved towards his sword hilt.
"Ah -- oh -- yes, right away sir!" said the man hurriedly moving off with the horse, he only stopped once to tell another man to take Neal to the Queen and King.

Neal just followed along behind the two guards. It didn't seem they knew much of him in this empire, for if they did they would have realized they should have guarded him with at least 6 men. But that doesn't matter, I come in peace...at least, for now I do, though Neal, his hand passing over his sword hilt unconsciously.
"Wait here while I address the King. If, and I say if, the King wishes to speak with you, you will address him as 'My Lord,' 'Sire,' 'Your Majesty' or 'King.' Disrespect him, and your head may be our next banner out there" said the Guard, pointing to a banner over the gate.
"Watch him" he said to the other guard, before turning and entering into a great hall, gently closing the heavy wooden door behind him.
I notice the dawn finally breaking into full daylight. I decide to move out on my journey.
"Oh fun. Time to get moving, I guess. I need some more arrows, so I might as well hit the nearest town for some supplies... Maybe I can find a few friends to travel with me, although it seems unlikely..."
I set off in a northwesterly direction from the dense forest, and spot a castle on the horizon.

Mary blushed at King Henry's comment. She gestures at him with her hand.
"You always seem to have those kinds of dreams sweetie." ;)
As soon as Queen Mary finishes that remark, their Captain of the Guard enters the room and bows before them.
"Greetings Your Highness'."
Queen Mary smiles and nods, "Why hello dear sir, beautiful morning we're having isn't it?"
The Captain nods and returns the Queen's light hearted greeting.
"Yes it is Milady, but I'm afraid that I am not here on a more sociable occasion but more that of business."
King Henry looks up from his plate at the word, "Business".
"What happened?" He asks eagerly.
The Captain bows in respect.
"Sire, there is someone who wishes to speak to you. We do not know his name but he says that he is a dear friend of both of Your Grace's."
King Henry strokes his chin.
"Hmmm.....Unarm him and let him in. I want a guard at every corner of this chamber, I shall not have the Queen harmed in any way if what he says is false." Says the King with boldness.
King Henry looks over at the Queen and smiles.
"My dear you take too much precaution, I can take care of myself." :) Says the Queen.
"On the contrary my dear, I want to keep what the Lord gave me safe." ;) Says King Henry. He looks at the Captain who is still standing there, "Well, what are you waiting for? Go do it!"
The Captain bows, "Yes Your Majesty...."
And with that he leaves through the doors. After only a few seconds, a series of guards pour through the doors and station themselves literally at every corner.
King Henry stands to his feet and moves next to the Queen.
"ENTER!!" He says in a clear loud voice.

King Henry's Estate:
A large booming bell tolls, and a guard rushes in, knocking aside whoever was in the way.
"My leige! The raiders have been spotted just past the north hill! They will be upon us very shortly."
Lord Daniels' Estate:
The horn used for alerting the inhabitants of the castle is sounded. Panic insues as the peasants who remained outside rush to the castle and the drawbride is hastily lowered. The captain of the guards rushes to throne room.
"Milord, I have recieved word that the bandits have pillaged the village only half a day's ride away, and have started traveling towards us. Smoke was spotted on the horizon, our most outlying peasant huts being attacked."
Lord Blutham's Estate:
Panic insues as word that the bandits have massed and are starting to attack quickly spreads like wildfire. The already weakened estate will crumble if there are any more attacks, many think. The remaining knights from the recent land conflict head towards the defenses, and soon several horsemen are spotted, as well as a catapult, and even more figures can be spotted through the approaching mist.
For now, the other estates have no sign of bandits of any sort.

The guard came out of the wooden door, nodding to some men around him, they followed him back through the wooden door. Two went to the right of the door, beyond Neal's view, while the other two went to the corner in Neal's view.
"ENTER!" came a booming voice from inside the great hall.
Neal walked pass the great wooden door, and into the gargantuan great hall. Tables lined the side, in a U shape, with some people at the base of it, on the other side of the room. They appeared to be the King and Queen, and were flanked by a multitude of servants.
Neal crossed the smooth tiled floor to stand before the King and Queen. He bowed deeply and when he rose he spoke in a soft voice "My Lord, and M'Lady."

He issued orders rapid fire to all soldiers in earshot. "Make rwad for sige! You get the walls ready to repel invaders. You two with me, we have to open the castle armory. Captain, escort our geust to the workers shelter." Turning to Mary he said in a reassuring but firm tone "Go to our chambers and stay there until the attack is over." Men pounded the door outside Prince Nicholas' study chamber.
"My Prince! Your presence is needed immediately at the throne room by order of you father!" Nicholas hastily gathered himself properly and exited his study. The group of soldiers took him down to where the King was at. He entered a din of clamoring voices. Knights and Captains were shouting at each on how to deal with the raiders attacking the outlying villages.
Nicholas walked around the outer edge and picked up most of what was happening. Scouts had spotted raiders lightly armed on riding on horses pillaging villages and leaving no one alive.
A gong thundered through the throne room sounding for attention. "SILENCE!" Cried out the King's attendant, "The Lord is about to speak!" Lord Daniels rose dressed splendently in his robes colored in his house's blue and white.

Update on the bandits:
Lord Henry:
The guards quickly assemble, and the archers at the northern wall start firing as the raiders charge. Footmen assemble at the gate, waiting for an attack. An archer in the northern tower reports that the bandits have brought battering rams, as well as a catapult that is hastily being pulled along.
Lord Daniels:
The bandits seem to be moving slowly...too slowly...through the villages. What could be taking them so long? Most people are on edge, waiting for any sign.
Lord Blutham:
The bandits arrive too quickly for them to react and the catapult starts to break down the battered walls. They will be inside the castle before the end of the day.

The leather saddled rubbed bruises onto my bruises. Nicholas had been riding hard for hours on end and it was beginning to show. Even though he was an experienced horserider, some bumps and rawness was bound to occurr. What should have been a casual stroll to King Henry's estate had turned into a highspeed chase through dense underwood and brush.
A group of unknown horsemen dressed in black had ambushed him while he had been crossing a stream. His original ride had been lost under a flurry of arrows as Nicholas desperately tried to cover himself from the rain of death. Then swords had been drawn by his enemies and had circled his supposedly "deceased" body. What fools they were, he thought spying the outskirts of King Henry's land.
Two had died when they approached bumbling like idiots into his body. Another would never walk again. The rest were quick to wise up and had been keeping there distance using bow and arrows and pikes to attack him.
A stolen horse and one chase later, his pursuers had given up on trying to slay him. Thankfully he was unwounded. But those attackers, it almost seemed like they knew he was going to pass through that region. A spy perhaps within his father's own castle? That brought up even more questions. Who was this spy reporting to? Was he (she?) maybe even part of the thugs assaulting his lord's lands? It was hard to say. There was probably an easier answer though. Most likely a villianous creature had seen him and rode ahead to some lawless marauders who hoped to elevate themselves in name by killing some royal family member.
Up ahead, a royal patrol was approaching him. Nicholas readied himself for a barrage of questioning...

(OOC: Our castle is Lord Henry's Castle. I guess I should try to post like I was earlier....:p)
Queen Mary paces back and forth awaiting the outcome of this battle. In her mind she knows that these bandits are nothing compared to what they've battled before. A two years ago when her and Henry were first married, a rival kingdom came and tried to conquer their lands. Both Henry put them in their place on the battle field and publicly. No one else has tried to attack them since then....Except for these bandits.
"Milady, are you okay?" Asks one of Mary's ladies.
Mary stops and turns her head in her hand maidens direction.
"I am fine thank you......Just a bit anxious to get these intruders off our land and away from our castle....Those poor men....These bandits have no idea that they shall be defeated miserably. It makes me feel kind of sorry for them."
The hand maiden that just addressed Queen Mary shakes her head. She can never understand how Queen Mary can be so nice even in the most difficult and glum situations against her.
Instead of resuming her pacing, Mary walks over to her window and looks out. Below her is a battle that has started.
"Godspeed Henry my love..." She whispers to herself.
I approach the castle in the distance, finally, after a long and tiring journey, and almost collapsing (OOC: It feels that long ;)), and notice a battle raging below the castle... I see people in armor suits against a band of clothed people. I take note that the flag above the castle has the same insignia as the armored troop. I feel moved enough to help them out, as they are somewhat outnumbered... They may look scrappy, but they seem to know how to attack...
"How dare you invade such a peaceful kingdom as this! Noone dares to interfere with such a thing!" (Cried out in a loud voice... continued:) "You may as well give up now, as I, Geno of some British Place will aid the castle that lies before me!
(OOC: I really need a place to be... Let's just say Geno of Evlon... How about that? o.O)
I pull my long bow from my back, and get my first shot ready... I take notice of a bandit who has a soldier on the ground, with no weapon... I then notice the sword lying next to him, as he has droped it... He tried to get it, but the bandit cuts him off, and gives him a good shot with the blunt end of an axe... I feel he is toying with him. I draw back, and fire the arrow... It falls short of the bandit... But hits the sword! It knocks the sword right under the feet of the bandit, making him waver! The soldier realizes what has happend, picks up the sword, and delivers a crushing blow! I hear a yell from him, and see him wave. I feel I might be able to help this castle in more ways, after seeing some fighting. They may have meleers, but with no range, if they lose their weapons, they might not be able to fight back.
"Allow me to aid you!" (I cry again)
"Come on! The rest of the troop could use some help!"
"I shall!"
I draw more arrows, and let fly, hitting bandits. I feel as if this battle goes on a while...
(OOC: Let this battle go as long as needed... I can end it any time with some well placed shots... I might miss though if left too long ;))

"GET THEM!" yelled Neal as he charged over the drawbridge on Xuther. The men behind him followed into the melee, they did it for their empire, and their families.
One of the men in the brown clothes broke from the fray to challenge Neal. Neal's eyes met the man, never leaving him as Neal's sword crashed through the man's skull. Blood burst into the air like a sudden flame, dowsing the grass around it with the dark red stains.
"DEHORSE THAT MAN!" yelled one of the captains, pointing his sword at Neal.
Several men broke from the fray, armed with spears and maces they attempted to surround and overwhealm him. Neal took out the first two easily as they flailed their maces haphazardly. The next two though prefered to play it safe, jabbing at Neal from a distance with their spears.
"CLANG!"
The sound of metal on metal rang out as Neal's sword met the end of a raider's spear. His next swing found it's mark, easily cutting through the spears wood, severing it's head from the wooden body.
Neal turned just in time to see a spear crash into his shield, the power of the hit suprised him, and it shot his arm painfully back. His sword came round over Xuther and to the man's spear, but it didn't matter the man was falling limp to the ground, an arrow protruding from his back.

Sitting on the edge of her bed, Queen Mary sits anxiously. Catherine, Mary's maid servant approaches her.
"Are you okay milady?" Asks Catherine.
Queen Mary shakes her head. "No....I wish I could help.....In some way or another....."
All of a sudden, an uneasy feeling grows in Mary's stomach. She is caught by surprise, she's never felt like that before. Catherine notices the Queen's face change expression.
Queen Mary rushes to her window and looks out, the bandits are starting to climb the walls! But they are being beaten back.....So why is Queen Mary feeling that way?? Then she notices her husband in his full glory and armor atop his horse fighting the bandits. As she looks over to the top of the terraces, she sees a few bandits getting their crossbows ready to do some archery on their enemies below. Including her husband....
Queen Mary bangs her fist on the window sill.
"NOOO!!!'
All of her ladies turn to look at her shocked.
"Is everything okay milady??" They all ask separately.
Queen Mary is overcome with a new boldness that she's never felt before. "Catherine--Fetch me my bow and arrows. Everyone else, stay away from any windows!"
Catherine nods and hurries to get the Queen's weapons. Everyone else bows and sits against the walls. When Catherine returns, she hands the bow to the Queen.
"Come with me Catherine...." Says Queen Mary. And with that, Mary goes to the eastern part of her wall where there is a secret chamber that leads up to the top most terrace of her part of the castle.
Both Catherine and Queen Mary hurridly stride all the way to the top. Mary takes two arrows and notches them into her bow. She takes aim at two of the bandits who are about to shoot her troops and husband down. She lets go and watches as they scream in pain at the fatal wounds and fall off the terrace to the ground.
The other bandits that are left notice the Queen but they have no idea who she is. They all scream and point a her getting their crossbows ready to shoot at her.

Oh...Well, the scouts are yet to return. Some people suggest sending more.
I notice the arrows coming down near soldiers... I look about, and notice bandits climbing the walls! Oh no!
"Oh no! Doesn't anyone else have a bow? Please say so, the queen is in peril!"
I realize none have bows, except her, so I take off in a sprint, only taking time to load arrows, and let fly, taking down bandits as I race. I take about 5 or 6 of them out before I start to run low on arrows already
"Oh great... No arrows... What to do, what to do..."
I have a crazy idea, but decide why not, seeing as how a lovely queen is about to get her ass kicked by bandits. I put my bow back on my shoulder, and speed up. I see the first few arrows that she fired on the ground below the castle. I jump, and roll, right near the arrow. I grab it, and roll forward, pulling my bow off in the process. I load quickly, and jump! I fire off the arrow, and it flies at almost double speed! It hits a bandit, almost picking him UP off of the wall, causing him to fly a little up, grabing ahold of his nearby comrade, making both fall to their death!
"Haha! Crazy people rule..."
I give a laugh, and take off in search of more arrows. I see a group of them, run by but I am tackled by a bandit! Oh crap! No ammunition, and only a small dagger, with no time to react... How the hell am I getting out of this one

Turning in a circle Neal searched for any opponents man enough to face him.
A scream from his right steals his attention, turning he watches as a man falls from the wall to his death. But it was one of the raiders. "Of course! This is just a distraction while they try to take the castle!"
Neal turned Xuther around and charged towards the wall. After crossing some metres, Neal notices some men tustling on the ground, a raider standing over a man. The man had a bow beside him, but had forgotten it and was now trying to stab the raider with a small knife. The raider however, had the man's arm pinned to the ground.
"Hiya!" yelled Neal as he gave Xuther a jab to start. 20 Metres. 10 Metres. 5 Metres. Contact.
The raider howled in pain as Neal's sword bit into his side. The sword went straight through, piercing his stomach and jutting out the other side. The man just had time to look into Neal's face, to see his murderer, before falling limp, only supported by the sword that killed him.
Neal threw his sword aside, bringing the man off of the archer, before jumping off of his steed.
"Thanks..." muttered the archer Neal finally recognized as the one that had killed one of his own attackers earlier.
"Ahh, was no problem. We're even now" said Neal, putting his hand out for the man. The man took the hand and stood up, brushing himself off, then handing Neal his sword.
I look around, dazed for a second after that close encounter

He wondered for a moment why the bandits should bother shooting at the empty gantry. He shrugged. "Forth knights! For Glory and Honor!" Henry called. With that, the king's heavy cavalry charged out of the gates, smashing the raiders off the ramp.

(Wow, you guys are just making up stuff as you go. Not as I planned, but hey, it gets the RPG going. ;) Nice work so far.)
I'd say that the bandits are just about ready to run away like the cowards they are at Lord Henry's castle. The castles catapults took out the siege equipment the raiders brought, and after that, it was easy to repel them.
However, the sun is almost entirely gone, past the horizon. I'd say about 20 minutes(or 2 posts) to nightfall.
At Lord Daniels' castle, the inhabitants start settling in for an unesy night. The scouting party has finally returned. Nothing is to be found, other than the charred remains of the villages. The bandits seem to have disappeared.

Luckily, the sound of hooves saved him. From behind the patrol, a panting horse brought news that their Lord's castle was under attack.
"Be on your way lad and don't let me catch you out here alone again! Heeyah!" The patrolmen nearly flew back to the way they had come thundering down the dirt path kicking up clouds of dust behind them. The day was becoming quite hot and Nicholas decided to remove his armour. Throwing it over the back of his horse, he began starting down the path the knights had gone down.
After about ten minutes of easy riding, a hawk cawed above him. Twice it did so circling the area then suddenly fled as if it had smelled something terrible.
"An omnious sign," said Nicholas thoughtfully tracking the movement of a several dark blobs on the horizon around the towering foundations of Lord Henry's castle. After covering about half the distance to it, it was definitely apparent to Nicholas that some sort of battle was in progress.
"Hey! Hold it there boy!" He ordered reining in his horse. Jumping off, he took out a long telescope imported from the East and observed what was happening. Men were dying by the droves as they futilely attempted to scale the walls. More fell to pricked over with arrows.
He adjusted the image slightly zooming in on a splendily dressed figure atop an armoured horse with a phalanx of cavarly behind him. No doubt Lord Henry himself about to lead the charge to break out. From a turret, a soundless signal was given as seen by Nicholas by the waving of their house flag and the following charge out of the castle.

You can't control anyone but yourself, nor say that something happens, other than the personal actions of your character.

He adjusted the image slightly zooming in on a splendily dressed figure atop an armoured horse with a phalanx of cavarly behind him. (OoC: Phalanx refers to infantry. Specifically ancient Greece/Macedonia.)
Louis furiously bursts from the ground. He takes a deep breath, not that it really is important to him. An eerie purple light fills the sky as the sun sets behind the hills. Early, for a vampire, but Louis never slept well even as a vampire.
In the distance a scream can be heard. It is to far for mortals to hear, but it is loud and clear to the ears of the dead. The sound comes from bandits raiding a group of traders whom are out a little too late. Louis rushes over to see the commotion. The traders consist of an old man, two sons, and the daughter. A group of five bandits easily over take them. Louis watches as they kill the father and his two sons, but one of the bandits drags the daughter into the woods away from the others. Carefully Louis follows this one. The girl of no more then 17 or 18 barely struggles as she is dragged deeper into the forest.
The bandit strikes the girl across the face and then forces her to the ground. Louis watches behind a nearby tree as the bandit rips her dress and penetrates her violently. The bandit’s burley hand covers the girl’s mouth so she can’t scream, but yet she doesn’t bite him. Louis feels the heat rising in the bandit’s blood as ravages the poor girl. Then Louis strikes. Coming up from behind he jabs his knife into the bandits jugular vein. As the bandit screams Louis grabs his mouth and drags him into the woods. Louis puts his mouth to the wound, and begins to drink the blood. He feels the blood, still hot from the sinister deed, enter his system. It flows through his veins and begins to warm his body. Before the bandit is dead Louis slashes his throat and throws him to the ground, letting his blood stain the dried leaves.
Louis begins to walk back when he sees that the girl hasn’t moved. She is just laying on the ground sobbing, her blond locks tangles with dirt and soil. He can hear her heart beat furiously against the ground. She had not seen him. His nostrils flare catching her scent, and he moves on, back to the road, and back to town.

Henry gleefully shashed his lance into the closest raider and let go as the impaled foe fell. He drew his blade and hacked at the enemy. Around him, the royal guard did the same. The remaining few raiders fled, to be shot down by archers on the walls. "Victory! We have victory!" Henry roared, and the knights cheered.

Balarak and Beluril moved swiflty throught he forest, avoiding being spotted by the random clans of bandits throughout the immense woodland. The smell of wet, blood-stained grass was in the air and Beluril and Balarak climbed up an old oak to rest. Beluril clambered to the top of the tree to find how far the city was. Halfway towards the horizon he could see the towers of King Henry's and he estimated that it was around half a days travel away. He then looked at its surrounding area and saw it was encircled by bandits and raiders, like a cat ready to pounce....It would be hard to reach the city without being spotted. He climbed back down to where his brother lay, shook him and said "Rest up we move at dusk" Balarak grunted and dropped off to sleep.

Henry unhorsed, as did Marshal Wilhelm. "We've done it.." The giant of a man said, grinning.
"We sure did." Henry agreed. Except for the 1 foot hieght difference, Henry and Wlhelm looked identical, both sporting grins, dirt and blood stained armor, and laughing heartily. Henry heard someone call his name. He looked to see who it was, and was almost knocked flat by Mary.
"I know it isn't very lady-like, but..." She said sheepishly. "That's ok, we aren't a very noble-like sort." Wilhelm said, laughing.

(Well, I was going to have this as realistic as possible, but I don't suppose that they can't have a giant, 6-eyed, radioactive, genetically altered squirrel in tow. It just isn't very likely. You have to wait for what happens. ;) Also, tanain, I know you are new, so instead of inducing the flaming wrath of GM, I will give you some more pointers. :D 1. It is a castle, not a city. 2. Unless you can come up with a good reason, like saying you are bandits, then you get thrown into the prison, don't act out parts for people under control of other people[IE The guards people won't let in a random person to the King's throne room, right after a battle with bandits was fought.]. 3. I'd prefer it if you didn't give out information that leads on to new parts in the game. If I somehow decided that the information you posted is wrong, then I don't think the King will look to kindly upon you for diverting extra scouts to assure your claims. 4. This is a realistic medieval game setting, so look at it that way. There aren't really cities yet, just the estates, which are castles with peasants farming around them. A 'village', as I have said, could really just be a cluster of peasant huts.)

Gah. Fine. You hear an audible and very drunken 'Oops!' as the gate is slammed open.
(OOC:Nya ha! Smooth!)
"Wow...!"
I am now speechless, as I lay before a bustling city for the first time in a long time. Nearly two years have passed since I last stayed inside castle walls... I nearly forgot how large, and breath taking it is...
"Hello there! Hi! Nice to meet you!"
I am greeted by many townspeople. I wonder why they know me so well, and why they are so friendly? Is it that I helped save their queen? Is it that they are just nice? Whatever the reason, one of the townspeople come up to me...
"I see you have a bow! I always wanted to learn archery! I don't have the time, though... My father always wanted me to learn swordfighting. He said it's more important than any kind of arrows. He says they are too weak."
"Oh really? Well, see that apple over there?"
"Yea"
"Let's say that's the head of an attacker, alright? Now watch this."
I walk to the merchant that has the apple. I tell him that I will pay him for any damages of the feat I'm about to do. He nods slowly, wondering what I'm going to do. He asks that his customers move, and then does the same. I pull my bow from my back. I draw a single arrow, and draw back. I fire, piercing the apple dead on, sending it into the wall. I walk to the merchant, hand him a few coins, thank him, and return to the youth
"Is archery worth it to learn? Even a little bit can help you at least fire arrows. That can always scare people when you are far back. Swords have power, but arrows have speed, and more range than swords. Learn it when you can. I created my own bow, arrows, and everything. If you ever want to learn, you can talk to me!"
"Wow! Thanks mister!"
The youth runs off in a happy dance, and yells to his father... Probably going to tell him what he saw.
"What to do now...?"
(OOC again: Hey, DS, should I go to the castle or something? How about a soldier comes for me or something, drawing me to the castle... I'm kind of just going to wonder around until I can get in on this castle, you know? Whenever you want, though, I can always earn a living for a while ;)

"Why yes! For only a few coins, you may have some!"
"Oh... I'm sorry, but I'm a little short... I dig through my pockets ...Sorry, but I only have two coins left.. And that might not even cover the inn price...."
"Oh... Well, I can always give you some of our flat metal for now... I notice you are an archer. If you make your own arrows, you can use this!"
"Ah! Yes! I was a bit short. Thank you. I take the small sheet of metal. It looks as if I can make about twenty or so light arrows from it! This will do nicely! Thank you good sir!"
"Any time. And if the inn keeper doesn't let you in for that price, tell him that Garverly will cover you. He will understand."
"I wish I could repay you somehow... I notice the little boy from earlier coming out from behind the man... I realize it's his son! ...Oh! Hello there again little boy... Oh sir! I have an idea! If I promice to give your son lessons in archery for two weeks, will you accept that as repayment. He told me earlier that you taught him the art of swords, but not archery. It is a good skill to have, and even though swords are powerful, if you strike before they come near, you won't even get your blade dirty!"
"Hmmm... You do have a point there... Let's say one week. I am grateful for meeting such a kind soul, and also for helping defend the castle earlier. People talked about it a while. One week, and I will call your debt repaid!"
"Thank you Garverly!"
I smile, and wave, and go off in search of the inn. (OOC: Wrapping up fast, I'm tired... I will just kind of skip details now, as it's unimportant...) I find it where Garverly said it would be, and go in. I give the man what coins I have, and tell him that Garverly would pay the rest. The innkeeper says it's fine and directs me to a small room near the back. The bed is already made, and there is a warm cup of tea sitting next to the bed. He said that it was going to be his, but offered it to me instead. I ask why he gives it to me, and he replies that he's thankful for stranges like I for defending the ritious. I accept his offer, drink the tea, and fall asleep...

The guards seemed to be in a hurry to get him into the dungeon. They probably were in a hurry to get some of the king's wine. They quickly threw Louis into one of four large holding cells, and quickly left.
As he anticipated he didn't have much company. Bandits don't have much in the way of armor and die quickly in a real battle, which is why though don't attack castles unless there is a lot of them and they are heavily funded. But Louis cared nothing of politics so he didn't waste his time thinking about it.
The iron bars weren't particular strong, possible to knock down with a great feat of strength, and for one of his age that would have been no problem. Noise is a problem as always. The bars dug fairly deep into the ground, it would be almost impossible for someone tunnel their way out. Louis needs only a small amount of room though. Security seems a bit lax.

The ground was still warm from the strong afternoon sun. Nicholas stood and stretched his tired limbs. The battle around King Henry's castle had gone on for quite sometime. One particular character with experience at the bow had caught his eye.
Quickly packing up from his makeshift camp atop the hill and a shading tree, he galloped down to the front gate of the city where the sounds of celebrations could be heard. The dead lay piled in heaps along the outside of the castle waiting to be buried on the following morning.
"You there! Guard!" Nicholas shouted, pointing his finger at some man dressed in armour. The man turned to the stranger who had called for him and approached him cautiously.
"Who calls for me there?"
"I do!" answered he shaking out the royal papers he had gotten from his father, "Must needs be that I be transported at once to your lord to discuss matters of state. Prithee thee?"
"Aye, these papers seem to be orders. Men! Lift the gate! And send a messenger up to King Henry informing them of our prestigious guest!" The guard walked back to his station and the metal gate lifted to reveal a flat road that led straight to the main castle itself. It seemed to him that the entire town was have a gigantic festival as every light had been turned on in the castle.
Nicholas preceded down the main road trying to avoid stepping on any drunks that may have stumbled across into the street.

Louis dug through the soil furiously and tirelessly. Within no time at all he had dug a small crawl space underneath the iron bars. Carefully he squeezed underneath being cautious not to snag his tunic on the spiked tips. After filling up his hole Louis made his way to the large oak door of the dungeon. He knocked on it then hid behind it. As the guard came through Louis grabbed him from behind, and sank his teeth into his neck. Right as the guard lost conciseness Louis spits out his blood. Then he drags the limp guard out the door and sits him down his stool outside the door. Louis takes his dagger then cuts the tip of his finger, and smears his blood on the guard’s wounds.

Neal ran into the hall, the guests close to the door gave him a dirty look at the intrusion, but then went on with their business. "Where is the King?" asked Neal of a servant to his left.
"That way..." he replied, pointing to a crowd of the more noble knights.
"Thanks" Neal managed to mumble, before brushing past the servant, heading towards the King. Neal pushed his way through to the centre where the king was, the other knights didn't take nicely to this and one or two bumped into him purposely.
"King Henry, m'Lord, where is that archer?" Neal asked, obviousley distrubed by something.
"My men said they saw him wandering off into town after the scum vanished" replied the King.
"Umm, could I go fetch him then have a..umm...chat with you?" Neal asked.
(OOC: Well, it seems Scorch hasn't been around much lately, so if no one minds, I'll just use his character for a second here...)
"Sure..." replied the King, giving Neal an odd look.
"Thankyou your highness, I'll be back in no time" replied Neal before running off through the crowd toward the exit. He brushed past the two guards at the doors so fast they couldn't even ask him where he was going.
That man will be in the only Inn around -- the Oakridge Inn thought Neal, this man could prove to be a good help with my...problems. Unless of course he is a part of it.
Some thumps filled the silence as he hastily crossed the drawbridge, the Inn was already in sight as it was hunkered close to the castle. Whether that was by chance, or some other mystery of this town, Neal didn't know.
Neal came to the door and was pleased to find it the Inn was still open. Probably in light of the victory, they could make some good money off of that, with all the drinks people will be downing tonight.
Approaching the bar, Neal noted some men were a little antsy and still had the flame in them.
"How may I help you?" came a deep voice to the right of Neal, behind the bar.
"Are you the Innkeep?" Neal asked, turning to face the man.
"Yep, I be him".
"Good, listen could you tell me if a man took up board tonight -- an archer?"
"Well, yes, why?"
"Which room is he in, the King would like to see him" Neal said sternly, trying not to let on that the King really didn't need to see the man, let alone didn't even know him. Hopefully this won't echo back to the King, wouldn't be the greatest of things to have on my first day here.
"He's in room 3, just up the stairs, 2nd door on the left".
"Thanks" said Neal. He turned and ran up the stairs quickly. He came to room 3 and knocked hard, hoping the man would hear him even if he was asleep.
I lie asleep on the bed, and awake to a knocking. I wonder what it's about. I hope that noone has invaded, and found me, for I killed many of the bandits, and someone might not like it. I walk silently through my room. I hear the thumping again. He mustn't hear me. I get my bow, and load one of my own arrows that I made that night before bed. I draw back, and then fake a...
*Sleepy* "Come in..."
I watch the door slowly open, and I pull the arrow back. I watch the man step into my room and halt dead in his tracks at the sight of my bow.
"Oh my gosh! It's you! Sorry about this... I can't be too careful anymore, though, as there are many people after me..."
I put away my bow and arrow, and offer the soldier a seat. I sit down on the edge of my bed, and then ask...
"So what are you doing here? What business have you with me?"
(OOC: I'm back for good now! No more musical, so more time to RP! :)

Louis entered the courtyard, and found a nice shadowy place by one of the stables. Louis ran his hands across the cold stone wall of the keep. He began to climb the wall using the slight niches in between the stone bricks. A mortal man would not even attempt such a feat, but it was not like Louis could really fall to his death.
Louis peeped inside some of the windows scouting for potential prey; that dungeon guard had left a bad taste in his mouth. Soon, well relatively soon for climbing a wall, he found a succulent morsel. One of Queen Mary’s maids has lain down to sleep off the intoxicating effects of fine wine. Carefully Louis brushed aside the lace curtain, and entered the room. Her blood gives off the aroma of a mild evil. Louis glides to her nightstand, and opens one of the drawers. Inside he finds a fine silver necklace.
Louis: I bet the Queen would like to have this back.
The girl stirs, in half sleep, have drunken state she calls out.
Jen: Marcius?
Louis leans down, and puts his hand on the young girl’s cheek.
Louis: Yes, all is calm dear, go back to sleep.
The girl quickly returns to bliss, a bliss that would last an eternity. Louis leans down and sinks his fangs into the girl’s neck. She groans slightly, and grabs Louis head and shoulders very gently. Then he digs one of his fangs into the tip of his finger. He rubs his blood into the girl’s wounds, and watches as the blood slowly covers the wounds. Like the dungeon guard the wounds will heal by morning, but unlike the guard this young girl will not wake up.
Time for the grand exit. “Oh how much fun this castle is going to be.” Thought Louis.

OOC// You realize of course this means war. Murder women in someone else's castle.
IC//Warden Ardel Vinran was making his rounds that night. He heard a rustling, and looked in. He saw a man perched on the window sil. He fumbled for his whistle. The man had blood on his lips, and no wonder. The girl on the bed had a wound on her neck. The man lunged, as Ardel got his whistle to his lips and gave an almighty tweet. The tweeting went up all over the castle, as the alarm was raised, and men rushed to their posts. Two men-at-arms stormed into the room, halberds at the ready. They found the warden dying, and the girl barely breathing. "What mischeif is this?" The arms warden demanded. "An intruder, sir." "It was about...." Ardel coughed. "It was going to jump, sir. It was drinking the maid's blood....." Ardel closed his eyes and went limp. "Bite marks." THe arms warden said, seeing the two holes on the dead man's neck. "Wake the King and Queen. Have every man on alert, and close up the castle." The Castle of King Henry V was roused to alertness in the night.

(OoC: Well here Scorch goes trying to bust my chops again. Buddy if you got a problem deal with it through pms/ims don't bring your personal vendettas into a game.
A. There is no way a guard will enter one of the maids rooms unless there is loud noise such as a scream, or he wants to meet the business end of a battle axe.
B. I hardly see how my character made an audible noise. Carefully Louis brushed aside the lace curtain, and entered the room. Her blood gives off the aroma of a mild evil. Louis glides to her nightstand, and opens one of the drawers. Inside he finds a fine silver necklace. Every word describes grace and precision, which is the nature of Louis.
C. The man had blood on his lips, My character is not a slob, he is very refined and would not have blood all over his lips like a savage animal. Try showing a little respect for other people's characters.
D. How would the guard see blood on my lips in the dead of night?
It's night now, and soon will be pitch black. Even if the moon was full the light coming through the window would have back lit Louis making him look like a mere shadow. In addition:
man perched on the window sil. . ."It was going to jump, sir" Again how does the guard see blood on Louis' lips <Which would not have been there in the first place!> when his back is toward him?
E. "It was about...." Ardel coughed. "It was going to jump, sir. It was drinking the maid's blood....." Ardel closed his eyes and went limp. "Bite marks." THe arms warden said, seeing the two holes on the dead man's neck. This is direct character control and I demand it be changed.
I will wait for Dark_Soul to take this insanely poor post and put it into a reasonable context.)

OOC: Vampires are special :)
"How you doin there?" whispered a seductive voice in his ear. Whirling around, he confronted who was behind him sword drawn. The tip of the blade was on the persons chin, whoever it was. The person's face was shrouded by a cloak and couldnt be seen.
"Who are you wench? Come to pick on some poor wander that you may find wandering in the streets?"

Neal graciousely accepted the seat offered by the man, he was a bit drained from his run. "There is some business I have with you" said Neal, looking around for someone, "but this is not the place, nor time to enlighten you. For now I have just come to see if you would like to come to the castle, since you were such a good ally in battle it's only fitting you come up to the castle for a proper sleep".
I hope the seers weren't quite sure about the timing. If the seers were then they have already settled upon us... thought Neal, looking once more around the ro
