Hi, I'm sure everyone here at the round table knows me by now, lol, anyways, I have an assignment in compsition class due pretty soon(end of the week), and I thought this forum would be a good a place as any for some help.
You see, it's like english class, and the assignment is to write about 6 pages on a problem, and a solution (2-3 paragraphs for topic intro, 2 pages minimum for problem discussion, 2 pages minimum for problem solution, 2-3 paragraphs for topic summery/wrap-up.). Anyways, my problem is that i have written five different papers so far, that i have gotten about 2 or 3 pages on then i run completely out of things to say. Not very informitvie topic i guess.
Anyways, everyone here always seems to be full of things to say, so i thought I'd ask some people here for a little help. The next topic i thought would really be good, is "how big companies/government overlooks anything in order to make profit".
I'm sorry if it seems like im asking you guys to help me do my homework, but this was a partnered assignment, and there's an odd number of kids in the class. Guess who got stuck alone? Well, I'll get to typing now. Please tell me if you guys think up of anything or any kind of input/ideas/thoughts/links to interesting articles related to this/etc..

2 pages minimum for a solution to the free market economy?
rather you than me.
personally, i think the only solution is to not have a democracy, the government is always going to be on the side of the companies that pay for its election campaign.
of course banning companies donating to political parties may be an idea to keep the government out of corporate control
at least without the government on their side the companies would be unable to flout the law so openly
okay, not particularly helpful there but i tried

Well One juge problem we are having about the Free Economy is simply the fact that its all tied up and dried out because of recent problems in our society (The Iraqi Armed Cnflict has put us 4 Trillion in debt.) Personally, I think that we would do a lot better by pulling out of other countries and stop spending money on problems on other countries and spicifically other Coorperations in other countries and start spending more money on the problems in our country. This would improve our society and not as much money will have to be spent on it. Also, I have to agree with Singo, Democracy is a poor quality of a Phelosiphy. The idea of Free Enterprise allows large coorperations and the government to take advantage of our countries natural resources and artifical resources. Also the Bush Admininstration is sorta screwing with our economy in the fact that they are trying to repel the Minimum Wage Law. Theres a good jump start for ya, If you don't think you need it, fine. Just tryin to help.

I would like to express a great deal of gratitude to everyone who helped me out, leta lone, bother to post a single sentence. Yes, all 2 of them. lol. Thanks, extra karma for both of you :) My project is due in about 15 hours, and i still dont even have it half done. Oh well, it's just one F. If we could have a mod come in here and close this thread down, that would be great.

I think we should keep the thread open. The roundtable needs discussions, and this is historically one of the more heated arenas in BF/WB history. If you had posted sooner, I would have had loads of things to say, but well, now it's just too late for that. Sucks (for you!).
I'll be back with some socialist whoop-ass tomorrow. :)

Did I hear socialist, whoop-ass, and BF mentioned in the same sentence? You wouldn't.. you can't... Meh what the hell, open the other, other pandoras box!

Also the Bush Admininstration is sorta screwing with our economy in the fact that they are trying to repel the Minimum Wage Law.
Any economics teacher -- of every single political persuasion -- will tell you that repealing the minimum wage laws will create jobs. Keynes himself will tell you this. Well then why do we still have a minimum wage? Not because of the economic ramifications, but because of political reasons.
of course people are going to vote for a government that says "we guarantee you this much money no matter what jopb you do"
and cygnus, we are rapidly running out of pandoras boxes left to open

I'm a firm believer that no matter which way you look at it, the person whose qualities work out the best with a situation is the person who comes to dominate it; ie 'the best man wins.' Communism is a myth.
