Poor dunchy. +karma to you for having to deal with stupid people.
EDIT: Whoops, I closed the karma window, but when I went to try to fix it, it wouldn't let me. So I'm not sure if it gave you karma. If not, I owe you some.

those are the kinds of people who call tech suppord and say "my internets not working!" and when asked what kind they have they say " I dont know!!" and when asked if its fast or if it ties up the phone line they say "its kinda fast and I don't think it ties up the phone" and when asked if they have a router they say "whats that?!?!?!?" and when asked something else they get a headache...
DISCLAIMER: no offense is meant to anyone here who does not know how to reformat/reinstall a computer, or know what a router is

Because you don't have to deal with these morons on a day to day basis, 8 hours a day. I do. Stress in my life has multiplied and words cannot express how angry I have become because of talking to people like the ones that hammock linked to above. Perhaps the Karma is not important, but it's nice to know a few people understand that I have to put up with these freaks everday and it's nice to be appreciated. Karma to me, could easily be pity or consolation in this case.

I don't think that's much worth the stress of dealing with complete idiots.
One of my friends worked at CompUSA and another at BestBuy, I've been in there sometimes and heard the stupid questions that people ask them.

people are stupid. Plain and simple. One day i walked into a mcdonalds and ordered a dozen mcnuggets. The teenager at the counter said they only came in 4, 6, 12, and 20 peices, and i asked "12, but not a dozen?" and she said yes. I went to a wal mart one time and after i placed my items on the belt to be scanned, i put one of those seperator beams on the belt. The casheir picked it up, and tried to scan it several times, than asked me if i knew how much it was. I disgustedly said "I changed my mind, i dont want it after all." On my way out to the car, I found a woman sobbing by her car. I asked her what was wrong, and her response was, "I knew I should have changed my remote battery sooner. Now it's dead and i cant get into my car." She then pointed over to a shop in the distance and asked "do you think they would have a replacment over there?" I said "Sure, but first, let me see your keys for a second." After handing them to me, i took the key and opened the door manually and told her, "you might want to drive over instead, it's a bit of a walk." Yes this was an actual event." There is even an award for people who stupidly kill themselves. Is'nt it sad how our society has degraded so much?

Not nearly, when RR was supposed to come into our center, it was agreedable to the RR company reps to pay 15 an hour to start, not bad for me, but then the higher ups in our area came out saying 11 an hour. Who does that? It's like saying, offer me a price on a car, someone offers you 1500 but you say "I'll take 1100!" dumbasses that run the place like that should be hung.
That's Canadian dollars I make too.
Hopefully you can share some of your troubles by posting the most annoying ones, here.
Hrmm...let met think, I'll take up back to Dec 25th, Christmas *yes, we're open 365 days a year, and I had to work. Here's a good case of the dumbasses that call in, this is word for word by the way:
Me: *Opening script, mostly it's thanks for calling RR my name, and then how can I help you*
Customer: Well my first question is WHY are you working on a day like today!?!
Me: Because people like you call in and it forces me to have to work.
Customer: Oh...
That call was etched into my mind. Actually allmost all of dec 25 was back to back, which it has been for about 6 months straight. I've had people ask if a network card is a credit card...I've got lots at work, but I've just taken stress leave from that place (it's THAT bad).
...exactly what do you do again?
Internet tech support for Road Runner Internet. Mostly talk to those in their 70's, 80's, and/or just plain dumb people. Most problems consist of "Muh email dun don't work!" and "The Road Runners not working!"
Sheesh I hate that...THE Road runner. It's allways THE road roadrunner. It's the THUH sounding the as well, irritating as can be. When you own a car and had to have it serviced, you don't say to the service technician "The Honda don't work"
I've had people call in at 4 am from hawaii *their time* since I start work at 5:30 AM most days. Yeah, it's back to back at 5:30AM, that's how understaffed we are. What do the higher ups say? "It's great back to back, it means more money for the company!" Except we don't get any of that extra money.
As you can tell though, I work for one of those call center, outsourcing places....extra profit, I laugh at thee, I just showed everyone the stock value, and workers morale just drops like a rock:
take a look (http://finance.yahoo.com/q/bc?s=CVG&t=5y&l=on&z=l&q=l&c=)

3) I see, so next time I have a problem all I have to do is PM dunchy (don't worry I wont say "The road runner dont work") I live in hawaii, so does that mean If I were to call tech support I would be talkin to someone on the mainland? Can I call you via road runner tech support? I'll say "Hi, is this dunchy?" if its you, then yay, it not, they'll think I'm crazy. lol
Q: what would you do if you got a call and someone said: "Hi, is this dunchy?" and you had no idea what dunchy was or where it came from and you had never heard of it

No one evers really listens to what you say in those calls. Well I dunno about tech support, but I've worked in a call center for several years and sometimes I just slip random shit in there when I get to talking fast, you know, through my script, and I'll make something up or call them a name just to see if they're paying attention. :)
Hey dunch I'll bet at Xmas you get a lot of people calling in trying to hook up their new digital cameras and computers etc. I hate working when it's a holiday. I hate working when it's not a holiday.
