I'm going to make sure Shinigami sees this since he wants an iPod and iBook.

I've heard about the batteries and the rebate on the iPod is what seeled this deal for me (even though my friend's buying the iPod through me (to help pay for the iBook)). Macs have had their issues, but from what I've heard they deal with them fairly well. Then there are the horror stories, but I don't listen to those much (though maybe I should, given that I own a Compaq...).

*sigh* What kills me is that it took us 10 posts in before some people began understanding, and even so, the original poster of the topic had to explain it X_x.
Anyway, I picked up the irony after seeing it and heartily chuckled inside my head. Good find ^_^

Haha, I'm paranoid -- but don't check every post. Just Whiteknight's. There's something funny about him.

What in the Hell are you two talking about? I figured it out right after WL posted it and made reference to informing Shinigami about so in my post. That's post's number is 6.
Shinigami also figured it out and his post number was 7.
What's worse is that WL didn't pick up on the fact that at least two people already understood the image and he praised Radlin for being wrong. For pointing out how unobservant everyone is, you overlooked that people actually understood it.

But the irony is very ironiful. Good find. xD

I understood it. Of course, I was expecting on of those weird images like where you have the people on this balcony, but when you look at it upside down, it looks like the people below ae in the balcony!
...But then I saw this and had to focus more. :P
Anyway, I got it in a matter of seconds (well, 45 seconds at most. :P).

Or perhaps you just misread my statement. You'll note that I used the limiting word 'some', meaning I noted that a few people understood the picture, though others still had trouble with it. There was no flaw in my logic, nor was there a flaw in my post ^_^.

Ark-templarius, I was refering to the article number in the image, not the post. Plus, I was hoping someone would see the irony, and before my second post (post #9), it didn't seem like anyone was picking up on it. It also seems that you are crabby.

That's why I sometimes really hate forums. You can understand something by the first post, but in the time between post one and yours, a lot of things can transpire. Things that are usually very stupid.
Or perhaps you just misread my statement. You'll note that I used the limiting word 'some', meaning I noted that a few people understood the picture, though others still had trouble with it.
Oh really? Well then, let's just dissect that and see where I "misread".
What kills me is that it took us
us
The plural nominative case of the pronoun of the first person; the word with which a person in speaking or writing denotes a number or company of which he is one, as the subject of an action expressed by a verb.
In this case, us would be the members who posted in this thread.
10 posts in before some people began understanding,
Define "some" because this can be taken two ways. You didn't mention anyone who did understand it, so it's safe to assume that you were implying that nobody understood it until after it was explained by WeekendLazyness.
and even so, the original poster of the topic had to explain it X_x.
Already saw it before he said anything. See reference above pertaining to hammocksleepr's comment. If I'm going to be labeled as unobservant for not clarifying myself, God help me when I'm having another off day.
Ark-templarius, I was refering to the article number in the image, not the post.

Third post.

I'm mentioning you on the grounds of:
Yay, we have one intelligent person on this forum. ;)
See why I'm just the slightest bit peeved?
It also seems that you are crabby.
Crabby? By now, I'm sure you must be thinking I'm on the verge of blind belligerence, eh?
Well, I'll spare you all from my "unpleasantness" and take my leave.

That students are flocking to buy Apple laptops after 28,000 15" PowerBook batteries were recalled.
There are other types of laptops... There is 2 types of 12 inch, and a 17 inch. Just because the batteries don't work on one type of Powerbook, doesn't mean people shouldn't buy Apple laptops. The only thing weird I see is that they both appear on the same page. But those to news articles are separated by 4 days.
Shinigami summed it up best with "That students are flocking to buy Apple laptops after 28,000 15" PowerBook batteries were recalled". It's not meant to be a rip on Apple and I would've laughed if it was Dell or any other PC manufacturer.
it was a third party manufacturer?

Your disection of my statement is completely illogical, Tenshi -_-. It's impossible to win this one, just so you know, regardless of how spectacular you may be at arguing.
In this case, us would be the members who posted in this thread.
Taking itty bitty pieces of my post out of context doesn't make your argument valid ^_~. If you read the entire sentence at once instead of parsing it as you are, it has an entirely different meaning.
Define "some" because this can be taken two ways. You didn't mention anyone who did understand it, so it's safe to assume that you were implying that nobody understood it until after it was explained by WeekendLazyness.
Well, no, 'some' is a word defining quantity. If you make reference to 'some' of anything, there has to be something and there can never be nothing (Now I sound like I'm talking in riddles ^_~).
some - Being a portion or an unspecified number or quantity of a whole or group
I'll put it in context for you. I made reference to the whole//group as everyone that had viewed this thread. The particular unspecified number//quantity would be the 'some' I made reference to, otherwise known as the number of people that didn't understand the picture. It would be the equivalent of giving a numerical value, however I wasn't going to go about counting out the number of people that couldn't comprehend the irony and place them on the spotlight.
The main thing that bothers me with forums is when I can't make a simple statement without having it parsed, examined, re-examined, criticized, rephrased, defined, poked, prattled, prodded and torn apart. It was a tiny, harmless post. There's no reason to analyze it.

Seriously, everyone needs to punch a chillow pillow (I made that one up myself, you like it? :))
Some people are getting defensive, why? Because someone thought that you didn't get a joke? It doesn't even matter. You can't blame anybody. It was a bad joke. I think a lot of people understood it, just didn't think it was funny.
This is good news for you, WL, as you now share good company along with me in the "dry humor club."
