Help!!! Starcraft Hacked!!! Crashing!!

HELP!!! i found out this one guy hacks, so he did the hack that makes starcraft crash. now whenever i try to play a game, starcraft crashes. I did all the suggestions blizzard gave to me, nuttin worked..... I know the guy who hacked me, but i dont have proof, his name is Warrior[ea]. Hes on USWest. Watch out for this guy. One of his friends is Radical_edward. They both hack. I tried reinstalling starcraft. That didnt work...... Will some1 help me get starcraft back working? in the error file, its saying storm.dll is having an access violation.

Delete the file bncache.dat from your StarCraft folder because it may be corrupt (if you don't want to delete just move it to a different folder). If that doesn't work you may have a problem/conflict with your soundcard driver in which case you would need to download and install the newest driver from your soundcard's homepage. And if that doesn't work...well, I dunno.

Ever since the last patch came out, my BW randomly crashes and its the storm.dll that shows up in the error log. I've reinstalled sound card drivers and reinstalled bw but it didn't help. However it doesn't do it often and it seems to be completely random so it might be a different problem than you're having.

Also, it isn't "hacked", it's cracked. Hackers hack information for knowledge or some other reason, crackers just do it because it entertains them or they just do it to piss people off... Again, that might entertain them.

The easy do-it-yourself way of fixing anything with your computer, the Magmaniac way:

STEP ONE!:
buy a new copy of starcraft

STEP THE 2TH!:
Buy a new computer

STEP C!:
Install your NEW sc on your NEW computer and there WONT BE ANY PROBLEMS!!

run ad-aware, then run a GOOD anti-virus program (NO AVG IS NOT GOOD)
first scan with an online one and then download a trial version and run it
probably you have some sort of trojan like backorfice
if you find the trojan/virus reinstall starcraft

do you use a pirated copy?

according to dictionaries you are right, but irl everyone replaced the both terms ><
cracker-someone who cracks programs (to sell them/not pay for them)
hacker is someone who steals information or just breaks security systems for fun (or map-hacks -_-)

Ur problem seem a lot like Gia's had a few times back. She got SC screwed by a mf n00b hacker/cracker. I believe that she got it fixed now.

Then he starts saying a bit of crap like "say hi to sc crash!". I barely get a chace to read the message befre low and behold, SC crashes on me. Since then I have not been able to join any games on battle.net, PLUS, my screen is now all fucked up. For some reason, my spacebar would'nt work when I was on battle.net either. I just spent a couple hours trying to re-install just now, and it keeps screwing up halfway through and canceling it. Some error keeps coming up telling me like "Cannot Proceed: Unreadible data. Registry could be corrupted".

basan, those are the exact problems i had except for the installing part, pretty much the same way too. got it fixed now.... not sure how, i was just screwing around in my sc directory, the files, ect. then fixed it by accident.......

you mean like those ones where a popup appears telling you you have spyware and you can click here to get a free trial of a remover? but when you try to remove it tells you you must buy the full version? all of those are spyware.

If you use programs such as Kazaa or if you already have another earlier trojan, then you have a port that's vulnerable to a direct connection. You need to get rid of Kazza (it's illegal anyway) so that other people can't port scan you and find that vulnerability.

Then, open up a list of procceses (ctrl+alt+del) and if you can, find a process that you haven't seen before. If you NEVER saw the process list before, look for anything that might have to do with starcraft. If you find one, type the name into google and see if any searches give you a clue to what it is. If you find one that is the cause of your problems, then close that process, use "find" to find where that process is located (it usually is in the starcraft, cookies, or temporary internet files). And, finally, delete it with any other file that might be associated with it.

If you find that you cannot delete it, then chances are that's the one causing everything. Download "Hijack This" off download.com and run a scan. Then find that process and RIP IT TO SHREDS!!!! *Note: Deleting everything you find during the scan will result on deleting your whole computer memory...literally*

If it is not a file but an automated remote server causing this (in other words, someone's set his computer to keep attacking yours), then go on command prompt and type in "netstat -n". There would be next to an ip the status "watching" or something like that. That would be your hacker's ip. Well, now you got his ip, wat're you gonna do? :smirk:

I forgot how to close a connection, but i'll post when I renember it. Oh and try disconnecting from the internet and play against computers. See if it crashes.

Oh and if you made a backup before everything started happening, then that'll simplify everything. Just restore the computer to that time.

Or it might not be any of those thing but something overloaded your graphics. This happens while I'm in gunbound. I crash for no reason. Don't have a solution for that though...-_-"
