ok ive been trying to make this mod for ages but it never renames the strings when i want it 2... so if anyone can give me a basic tutorial for this that would be greatly appreciated

Ok. No problem.
Open up whatever you were using to set the strings.
Load up your files, and set the string to something unused.(IE Terran 1 - Shareware)
Save.
Open up TBLPad.
Load your stat_tbl.
Edit that string.(Some phrases may be slightly off)
Save.
Assemble your files and test it out.

Arsenal Zero is much better once you get the hang of it.

Arsenal III is a lot easier to use if you're new to modding. Arsenal Zero lets you do things that aren't possible in Arsenal III. It's very easy to use once you just look at it for a while.

ok so far my mod consists of....
Nuclear Tank
HP: 300
Dmg: 25/45
Cost: 350/200
Built At: Factory
Requires: Attached Machine Shop, Nuclear Silo
Special Abilities: Seige Mode, Launch Nuke (must be in seige mode)
Any ideas would be greatly appreciated

I still use Arsenal III extensively. I use Arsenal Zero only when I have to.

I use Arsenal III a lot too. I only use Arsenal Zero when I edit sprites or images.
