Recently I remembered something I did whenever I hadn't played StarCraft in 5 months. It may sound rather odd, but I played Doom. Yah, I know it has crappy graphics and shotguns don't work the way the should, but NOW they do ;). I'll put some links at the bottom for you all to enjoy them, you'll have to find the .wad files yourself or buy a $5 CD from Walmart to get them. The .wad files are the maps, which basically is all Doom is, the slightly modified Doom Engine (open-source in case any of you were wondering) which fixes these problems, you'll also have to download the new 3D textures if you want the graphics to be improved (HIGHLY Suggested, you can see screenshots at their site). I'd say it's about as good as the first Quake was, but that's still an improvement ;). Anyway I'll go ahead and give you the links and tell you what to do with them.

Homepage: http://www.doomsdayHQ.com (http://www.doomsdayhq.com/)
Newest Version of Program: http://voxel.dl.sourceforge.net/sourceforge/deng/deng-inst-1.8.0.exe
Model Pack: ftp://ftp.jbserver.com/pub/jdoom/jdoom/models/jdoom_mpack.exe
Shareware .wad file: ftp://3darchives.in-span.net/pub/idgames/idstuff/doom/doom19s.zip

1. Simply install The Program in any directory.
2. Extract the model pack to the same directory as the Program was installed.
3. Open the .zip and put the DOOM1.wad file into a directory (just make a folder called "Wads" where Doomsday is in).
4. Attempt to run The game and it will automatically find the .wad file and you're all set.

Note: This is only for the Shareware version, you'll need to buy the Doom CD to get full version.

Enjoy it ^-^

Pwnage! I think I got a CD with Doom 1 tucked away somewhere. It's in a pile of other semi-crap games from "back then".

Yeah, here it is. It says:

Doom

Shareware Episode One
Knee Deep In The Dead

Ultimate 3D Virtual Reality Game

"It's shareware but it's so hot we just couldn't resist adding it to this 5ft 10 pak

Lots of other mid-90s "shit" games here if anyone's interested.

Doom is awesome. In computer class last year when you was done with the assignment the teacher would let you put Doom on the computer and shoot shit up. She also had Wolfeinstien (sp?) I'm really surprized she let us put them on there. heh

Nor is it even in development. I think they might have even said it won't be made.

P.S. I hope you guys are using what I put at top. lol, I dug it up because a friend of mine had a 32x (Genesis days XD) and we went back and pulled it out and sat down to play Doom on it, I then remembered this client, it's amazing, give it a try. ;)

Battlezone

As in, the really old one with the black background and green lines and cubes for bullets? I loved that game.

Neat site too.
