My Halo Wallpaper

Well, After fiddling around with Photoshop for a bit, I made the following wallpaper. it's 1680x1050 because that's my screen size. I think it's cool because it's almost like how the predator sees things. I'm posting this so I can have feedback and you guys can tell me what you like or how it could be cooler.

The predator should have a voice thing next to his vision, and without the mask he sees things red and purple. BTW that was cool.how do u do it?

And yea, I remember how it's like that for predator with his mask, but it's a different set of colors when he has it off. Man I loved that movie.

Then I just cut out the skull and pasted it onto my own photoshop project. Then I just played around with the various filters and whatnot to get the desired effect.

It's a tad different from the origional because I didn't scale some of the effects, but its still all there. enjoy! :)

Haha, it is ok. But you know, I think Elites are harder than Hunters. Hunters are so easy to kill, ussually takes only one properly placed bullet to kill one. Also the hunters are very slow, so you can dodge them. Even in Legendary, hunters suck.

Well yes I agree with you entirely. The Spec. Ops elites are horridly difficult. And yea, it just takes a pair of pistol rounds gently placed into their backs to kill them, but using normal methogs, hunters are walking tanks! its true!

Haha, what is funny is that the migetty grunt is in the middle. Yeah killing a hunter regularly is hard. That is what I did in the beginning until I found out about their soft spot. Then one shot with the pistol owned them everytime.

The wallpaper would have been better, if there were more colors.

Um, not sure. You might have. Thanks for the karma. I plan to make MANY more Halo/Halo 2 signatures, but I am waiting for the Olympics to finish. Then I will start.

You should try making others like that with other characters from the game.. or if its possible blurr MC and have him holding different guns or something. Would look really awesome if done right.

Ok I'm confused some of these have a wierd theme going on.. but it looks like your were mostly experimenting which wa sa good thing but what exactly are the themes.... asides from halo 2?

Try brushing or smudging.. maybe some advanced filters, doesn't look like much was worked on really but progression is always the way to go.

To bob, my theme is mostly just make Halo wallpapers that look cool. I've used several filters and whatnot on all of them, but I don't like using the smudge or blur filters because I think they get rid of the cool detail in the pictures too much, so that's why I don't use them.

Anyway, I also just made some more Wallpapers. One with the Grunt, and another with the Wraith Tank. I'm getting bored of putting them all here, but they're all on the art section of my geocities site. Check it out here:

really? are they only 5'? I got the 5'9" from the Halo manual that comes from the game, I'll have to check on that. If it's wrong, I'll just fix it. But yea, when I first found that out, I was like no way! Those guy's are tiny! Then I realised that the Master Chief is freakin massive.

And thanks for the compliments. Yea, a lot of the textures between the different wallpapers ARE similar, but I just think that web-like texture looks really cool. Plus it sorta ties the series together a little bit. *shrug* Hey, I'm doing pretty good for a CS major with no art skills, give me a break :-)

Well, I know you've all been dying to see more of my wallpapers... :rolleyes:


But anyway, I like making them, so I made another one. All the others are nice, but are too colorful or flashy or whatnot to be a cool background if you ask me, so I made this one which is nice and simple:

It looks cool, but I don't think it would take that many filters to do an effect like that. I think I can do something like that with very few filters. Though I am not sure. Yeah, it is pretty cool, but too bland. Maybe some text would have been good.

I'm sure you can do it with only a few filters. It's just I was playing around for awhile until I settled on something l liked, so there's a lot in there.

And also, the contrast was actually a lot more defined than it is now. I dulled it down because I thought it would better that way. *shrug* hhmm... what wallpaper to make next...

Oh I see. If it was supposed to be plain, then I guess it does a pretty good job of it. I need to make a halo wallpaper too. I just can't think of any ideas.
