If you check out Microsoft's website, here's the list of programs that will not run on Windows XP SP2: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?kbid=884130 . If you notice, Starcraft v1.11 is listed. :P That means, don't download SP2 until Blizzard releases a new patch. :)

I find it amusing that some of Microsoft's own programs don't run properly after the service pack is installed...

rofl.. leave it to microsoft.
I think if you wait a month or two after they release a new service pack, all (most) the stuff they screwed up on is fixed. . .and 50 other bugs pop up. by the time they fix it SP3 will be out and it will all start over again. Its a vicious cycle.

exactly why i havent gotten SP2 yet...and probably wont ever
edit: feh, it doesnt work with 1.05 either, meaning you cant even play it singleplayer without a patch...guess its a chance to see who will patch first: blizzard or microsoft...heh

Well it look like Starcraft is no longer on the list, so you can download SP2.

Has anyone installed it since SC was taken off of the list?

SP2 won't be officially released until the 25th. Some companies were given the patch earlier in the month and I think the Dayton LANfest is offering it to players for the qualifier next weekend.

Microsoft has declared Windows XP SP2 RTM.
You can get it here:
http://www.daytonlanfest.com/files/WindowsXP-KB835935-SP2-ENU.exe
Dayton LANfest STRONGLY suggests you install SP2 before coming to the event to reduce the chance of unauthorized use or your computer or infection by worms.
