Should Void Masters replace Protoss, or should they be their own race?

Ok, read this!!!

Before you decide, i need to tell you the advantages of each.

Own race: You could still play as the Protoss. 'Nuff said.

Replace Protoss: For one thing, this would be much easier, allowing the mod to get done faster. For another thing, i could do better details, such as graphic replacement. Overall, doing this i think would look better, and allow for a quicker completion of the project. However, i would like to know what all of you think about it before necessarily going and doing this. I may still do this. One other advantage of a Protoss replacement would be seen immediantly: You could play as the Void Masters on none-ums maps.

So, what do you guys think?

ummm.... i vote add another race, IF its possibly making it selectable (and if it isn't, it should be)... otherwise replace the protoss...

Hmm...

I say that you replace the starting Nexus with a small flag that lets you select between the two, and you make them seperate, though under the Protoss race.

First, the only way that i know of to be able to have the Void Masters selectable if they don't replace Protoss would be hacking. And i don't know how to, nor do i want to know how to, hack SC.

Second, DS74, that would be a great idea if it was possible. But it isn't without, you guessed it, UMS Mapping!

Anyway, i'm glad you guys are concerned about it.

I would prefer there being a new race, but the time it consumes can be worse then the replacing of Protoss (mind you, I am an avid protoss player). Could you not later, reinsert the protoss as 'the new race' in a later release?

i think that you should replace protoss. it will allow for faster completion and give new life to the modding world. i am still figuring out how to mod, and i would love a new race to use in gathering experience. vote new race!
