Okay, I'm reposting what I said in case he forgot any information.

Okay, this was quite a sucessful night, if I might say so myself. Everyone had fun right until the end (which was when I went insane and killed 4 hostages, which booted me, which shut down the whole server). Because of this being such a sucess, we decided to do it again.

So, on the Saturday after this, we will be holding another one with UT 2004 demo. Because I know some thing about UT, I'll most likely be hosting it, although I'm sure ZDS might or Radlin might. It will start at 7pm EST (might be before that too, depends.) You can download UT 2004 Demo at http://www.atari.com/unrealtournament/ and going to the bottom right. Have fun! ^_^

Okay, I'm just curious. How often does everyone want a WBs game night? Ever few days? Every week? Every two weeks? Every three weeks? Every month?

-Assault - There are two teams. One is attacking, one is defending.

-Bombing Run - A player picks up a "bomb". He then has to score with the bomb put shooting it into a target or falling into the target.

-Capture the Flag - Two teams, flags on either side. You have to go to the others flag and then go back to your home base.

-Deathmatch - It's a free for all. Everyone is on their own and tries to kill every other person as much as possible.

-Onslaught - There are several nodes and a home node. You have the blank node become your colour by running over it. To destroy an enemies node, you have to attack it until it is destroyed. You have to build your own nodes in a path so that you can attack the enemy's home node. Once the enemy's home node is destroyed, you win.

-Team Deathmatch - Just like Deathmatch, just in teams.

There are more if you have the full game, but we are playing the demo.

BTW, even if you have the full game, you need to download the demo to play in this gamenight. I also havn't been given input on the date and time this should happen, yet. If you don't give input, it will stay the way it is.

Of course, I've never played UT before, so expect me to be ridiculously horrible. But that shouldn't matter much, it should still be fun.

As for how frequently we hold gamenights, I think it'd be fun to have them weekly, different game each time. We may have to take breaks depending on activity on certain nights scheduled (ie. say a night only has 4 people, we push the night back a week and see if we get more people). If we do them weekly, we'll have to find a) an incredibly popular game that many people have, or b) a game that is free//has trial download for each week. That shouldn't be difficult, but we'll have to meet in IRC every once in a while to determine what game to play next.

I might be a bit rusty... but a week of practicing should get back my game.

NOTE TO EVERYONE:

Please do not install the patch, I was mistaken about that and quickly took it. I am looking further into it now, but I am sure that the patch was not meant to be installed unless under some specific circumstance. So just ignore the patch, and if you had installed the game with the patch, just re-install it. Thank you.

EDIT: Perhaps the patch is necessary. Would everyone who have installed the patch give me input to whether it has worked or not? Also, if a person did not install the patch, could someone tell me if they were able to play online or not? It is toted as "needed", but because of Atari's horrible linking (it always goes to atari's home page when I click a link), I'm having trouble finding out more.

EDIT: Okay, I have now realized what that patch is for. It is for people with the full game to update their game. It doesn't affect demo people as they download the game when they download it. Alrighty, I figured that out, so ignore the patch.

Anyway, this UT night was very fun.

We don't do that because everyone doesn't have the full version of UT and this comes with a multiplayer demo.

Okay, now the summary of the UT Gamenight.

Well, I can't say things went off without a hitch. I was two hours late, EST, and some other things happened. People left/didn't show up, some difficulties, but it was fun in the end.

I think that we will do this again sometime if we are assured of at least 10 people. UT is quite a fun multiplayer game and it's pretty much a necessity to have that many people. I'm sure it can be worked out in a few weeks now. Everyone prepare for CS for next week!

Note: There is a chance I will not be here on Saturday of next week. I am leaving for the lake on Tuesday and I don't know if I will be back around Saturday. I know I will be back around that area of time. I suspect I will be back by 7 pm (-7 GMT) though, if we do stay until Saturday. If I am back before then, I will host. If not, then I'm sure that ZDS can host.

On a side note: To play Counter-Strike, you must have the game installed on your pc. Then, you download Steam, which is a host (of sorts) for games such as CS, TFC, DMC, and CZ. It is a sizeable download, so if you are on dial-up, I suggest that you get a friend on adsl/cable to download Steam for you.

So technically, you must have the game -- you cannot download it, unless it is a pirated/cracked version. All you can download is Steam, which is needed to play CS online etc.

Nope the download doesn't require a cd key, but you do need the game installed with a unique key on your computer.

It is a sizeable download, so if you are on dial-up, I suggest that you get a friend on adsl/cable to download Steam for you.

So technically, you must have the game -- you cannot download it, unless it is a pirated/cracked version. All you can download is Steam, which is needed to play CS online etc.

Quite wrong. Once you get steam, you go to "register product", enter a cd key from a game or from a 5 pack, and you get them all. You don't need to have a single one, you will be able to download it all from online. Trust me, I did it this way. I bought a 5 pack and installed the games, but I wasn't able to play online for some reason so I de-installed them. A while ago, ZDS told me to get steam and I entered my CD key. None of the 5 worked (Some goddamn people stole my cd keys >.<), but he gave me one of his and I was able to play all the games once the download finished.

The DVD version has 2 DVDs (I have the CD version, though I would have gotten the DVD version if I had a choice, much easier to instalkl)
