All i know is that they are the raw form of map data. So my guess is that they contain unit and map info.

All you can do with a CHK file is whatever you can do with StarEdit. So that's unit health, weapon damage, cost, build time, and some other things.

just an off topic question: you said your maine editor is starforge, well i have a question. when ever i make triggers in starforge and press save (to save the trigger abviously) i doesnt save the trigger. i just does nothing. so when i exit the window and bring it back up (the trigger edit window that is) my trigger isnt there,

go an answer for that

If you don't put ); at the end it doesn't save the trigger.

If you noticed in StarForge there are two HP boxes. The second is the real HP. If you put a certain number in the first box the wireframe will change colors.

Double speed can be done by placing a P14 map revealer at the very top right box. Use the grid to find out where to place it. The map revealer has to be the first unit placed before any other unit or else all the units that were placed before it will freeze. Also this trick doesn't work on Macs.

Yeah, a few special tricks are done with these players above player 12, called 'Hyper players.' I don't feel safe using them though, first, Haplo bites your head off, and second, the reason these effects happen is because of memory leaks. But anyway, there is a list of tricks to use somewhere. Someone once suggested a 'Can you do 290 tricks?' map with hyper players lol
