I don't know if anyone else has heard about this, but apparently some hunters from Georgia claim that they've found proof of Bigfoot in the form of a body that they dragged through the woods and stuffed in a freezer.

I don't buy it though.

They're hunting for Bigfoot in Georgia? You'd think there'd be more important stuff for them to worry about, with Russia invading 'em and all.

The only time I will consider a bigfoot sighting or something seriously is when it happens to somebody who is in no way connected to anyone who is a bigfoot fanatic. But I did find this interesting, thnx for posting.

And +rep to irishdutchman. :D

From http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/webscout/2008/08/high-quality-vi.html :

Have we entered a moment where everyone who produces a half-baked oddity photo gets a press conference and coverage from the New York Times, CNN and (obviously) the extended blogosphere? Can't we demand a slightly higher standard of proof? Like a video at least? With examples of manipulated photos everywhere you look, and video recording devices now approaching total ubiquity, we are way past the era of the successful photo hoax. It's just not good enough anymore. So I propose a permanent ban on coverage of any monster, alien or supernatural phenomena stories whose original source does not supply a video! Journalists and bloggers: Shame on you for writing based on photos only -- that is so 20th century.)

Next thing you know we're gonna find Loch Ness in Russia. Mark my words.

Sounds fake, looks fake, but so did the Platypus.
Wait for the testing, I guess, but I doubt it's real.

I smell a hoax. They aren't going to have the body = hoax. DNA can be forged and so can pictures.

Of course it is the Georgia in the United States. Who else would waste time on such a trivial event as bigfoot hunting other than americans? :P I mean what, with only a national election coming up and all...

[QUOTE=SilverCrusader;627899]DNA can be forged/QUOTE]

In what instance have you ever heard of DNA being forged? It's impossible. Especially by hunters from Georgia.

Hoax.

I haven't, the hunters say they have DNA evidence though.

You guys are being too skeptical. I say, hope for the best expect the worse.

While I wouldn't believe your statement to have 100% veracity, I would sigh and simply go along with. But if I asked for pictures of it and you simply said, "No. I'm not showing them." Then I would think you don't have them.
The same applies here, I would give less skepticism if the hunters would actually show the body.

Actually, metaphorically speaking, in this situation I would tell you to wait. And right now your admitting that you'll believe me until I can't prove it.

The thing is a hoax:

http://www.bfro.net/hoax.asp

And the Press Conference pretty much amounted to them patting themselves on the back and not being able to produce any real evidence.

Pity.

How can you say no to a face like that?

Wow, people don't have to be assholes about it. Seriously, they're devoting their time stating the obvious, then saying it like everybody who thought is was real were a bunch of retards.

It's obviously fake, but you don't have to be a bitch to the people who thought it was real.

A bit late on this, but eh...

Did the Russians find the remains?

Ever seen the classic movie King Kong?

My bet is that this is just a stuffed dummy with a gorilla-man mask (can be bought for only $2 in Toys 'R' Us).

If this is real though, judging by the gooey flesh-like organic material shown in the picture (which looks like a mutilated body run over by a truck), I'd be damned to know that bigfeet exist and won't be surprised to know that Santa Claus is really flying over our rooftops.

My bet is that instead of stuffing, they used some sort of animal to stuff a gorilla-man costume. Definitely can be faked, not even that hard, either.

In case it's escaped anyones notice, this was a massive hoax.

Apparently the DNA came back as something like a badger or chipmunk or something random.

I think a few people went so far as to claim responsibility for the hoax.

Nothing to see here. Move along.

Oh that's right, thanks =D

Was something small, furry, and creepy.

It's was pitiful to, because I keep waiting for something like this to happen. Bigfoot -- if he/she/it/they exist, then you'd think we'd've come across some remains by this point.

Well, when we hack and burn all the forests then dig up the ground into parking lots for JC penny we will know for sure.

In the meantime I'll trust that little voice in the back of my head called reason.

NoobOfLore

I am so skeptical for same reason as Neo, as well as the fact that this has been faked so many times before. JUST SHOW IT TO US AND LET US MAKE SURE!!!
I'm sure that we will agree with you if it's real. The only reasons to hide a highly valuable scientific insight like that is
1:you are really crazy
2:you are Really greedy
3:you are really... I mean you're lying.

Edit: apparently I won this thread.
