So I was just wondering, what weird habits do you guys have?(Keep it Clean)

Probably one that people find strange that I do, is that I like to drink hot sause. I just love the taste enough to go and full blown drink it. All kinds to, even habanero(once never did it again).

So what strange things do you guys do?

and yes I know that I spelled weird wrong in the title. But failed to realize it soon enough.

I am obsessed about my health/physique.

For a teenager my age many people think it is strange ask why, and I say, "So I can live past 100."

I like to drink milk instead of water. I'm fine with water if there is no milk but milk just plain tastes better.

I hate saying anything with R's in it, but love saying things with L in them.

If I touch one side of an object, I always want to touch the other side of it.

I have an irrational fear towards recycling soda cans.

I like to eat hot peppers just like that.

Worst fate ever.

Ahahahaha, me too. Not only hot sauce, but mayonnaise, mustard, ranch, and sometimes ketchup.

Dunno, it's just a habit. Sausoholic.

I'll probably die early, but whatever. I do not want to live to a hundred.

Actually, I will enjoy it. People get the misconception that if you live over 100 you will be severely disabled, old, and wrinkly. I beg to differ. With the proper diet and exercise it will just like I am in my 50s or 60s because the healthier I am the slower I age.
Just look at Jack Lalanne, this is him when he is 92:

All your friends will be dead. Your grandchildren won't appreciate you. Your mind will go.

The only thing you will have to look forward to is Monday Bingo nights.

Fun facts for youngsters hoping to die as prunes:

In the span of just forty years, assuming that you're still a teenager, your eyes will receive a little over thirty three percent less light and color as they do now, no matter how good they may seem.

Your sense of smell also deteriorates, as the accuracy with which you can identify smells and pick up faint smells drops off. Taste is also affected, with a loss of taste to very subtle foods and spices.

The tiny hairs in your middle ear will harden over time, causing hearing loss to varying degrees.

You'll also become all old and wrinkly. Ew.

Everything has been done before, It's just a matter of how we restate it when it seems like a good time. And that doesn't mean we can't open up older thread ideas to newer members, of all people I would have thought you would have understood.;)

I was too lazy and pressed for time to get all of the links to my posts in there, so I figured I'd save some time. :-P I'm fine with re-opening old threads (wounds? ) for newer users to partake in though.

So long as they're certifiably old.

I try to appease everyone and keep everyone happy with me even if I have no reason to.
Example: Every time the army calls me I tell them I am still thinking about it and that I will make up my decision after I do some more school. They seem happy and assure that they will call back. There is no way in hell I am joining the army unless I get drafted.

In sharp contrast with your internet persona...
I'm like that as well in real life, except not to my parents. Don't know why, but sometimes I couldn't care less about appeasing them.

I also like even numbers, but the number 5 is an exception.

I have an unhealthy aversion to most fruits, especially bananas. I do eat strawberries (occasionally) and tomatoes though.

If I touch one side of an object, I always want to touch the other side of it.

I'm sorta like that. For some reason, if I'm really bored and not doing anything and I touch something with my left hand, it'll feel weird, like my left side is having a weight pulled on it and the way to equal it out is to touch with my right hand.

But yeah, that's only when I'm so bored I notice it.

Otherwise not much, except I put cheese on almost everything.

Since most of this is bringing up food habits, let me tell ya that I can't stand straight warm milk and eating bananas when they're mature. When I'm tricked into eating these things most likely I'll puke or close enough to it. :P

I have a phobia that's been really bothering me recently. It's the illogical fear that something completely impossible will happen. Like the monitor I'm typing on will turn into a watermelon or something. It may sound stupid or funny to you, but it scares the living fuck out of me. Because seriously, if it really did happen, I would be so scared I would probably kill myself or go insane. It also intensifies when I try to go to sleep at night, which makes my existing sleep problems even worse. I'm 20 years old and still afraid of the dark, it seems.

The bad part is, this random impossibility has happened before. It was when this phobia had flared up before, a few years ago. I was alone at my grandma's place and I had the distinct fear that instead of the time, the digital alarm clock was going to display some random garbage that doesn't make sense. Later that day it happened, and after that the clock displayed the time again and the fear went away. Nothing else unusual happened, and the alarm clock showed no signs of not working properly.

This phobia all started when I watched the X-Files episode called "Blood". It's the one where people started hallucinating that their machines were sending them subliminal messages to commit homicide, playing off their fears. I fear that I might hallucinate again, but this time it could take a form that is a lot scarier than a garbage readout on an alarm clock.

And before anyone asks, I've never taken any drugs.

Vezer
08-19-2008, 2:44 AM
Chemical imbalances in your brain can lead you to hallucinate for no good reason. Usually, it's stress induced.

So, if you stress and stress that something impossible could happen... your brain can make it happen.

atrocity3010
08-19-2008, 2:49 AM
That's the problem: the more I try not to stress or think about it, the more I do. It's a vicious cycle that feeds itself, and the only way out of it is when I'm truly occupied by something else.

hammocksleeper
08-19-2008, 2:50 AM
I can see how that would be quite scary, atrocity.

I drink about six to eight 14-ounce glasses of milk every day (three quarters of a gallon), and maybe half that in orange juice. These are very important to me. I don't drink soda, maybe two cans a month. Plenty of beer, though. I also have no problem with warm milk (living in several foreign countries on a shoestring budget will do that to you).

And about half the time I will not put milk in my cereal. For some reason people think this is fucking nuts. I figure I already get enough milk in my diet anyway. :)
