So I'm helping a friends family move out and we turn up a HUGE box of old VHS tapes. Not really caring they let me have them. While searching through them I found Every Star Trek Movie, lots of old, anime, and a Street Sharks tape.

What I'm really wondering about though is a perfect condition still shrink wrapped collectors edition tape of 2001: A Space Odyssy. Do you think this would be worth any money? I checked Ebay but the only thing listed was the sound track.

The whole box is probably worth a good bit of cash. It's a collector's treasure trove, really. I'd estimate that that copy of 2001: ASO is worth around $50. I'm not that great at appraisals, but that's my guess.

The Anime tapes and Star Trek movies could get a bigger haul than that though. Snoop around a little, see what you can find. The whole box is maybe $200 or so, depending on what Anime it is.

Again though, these are simply collectors items. $200 is tentative, if you can even find a buyer.

Legend of Dragoon, Animatrix, Dragonball, and Hamtaro are the anime. If you can count Hamtaro. I doubt the TNG Trek movies would be worth much except Generations but I'll check on the TOS movies. Thanks.

Just search for the items you have on ebay and tick the "completed listings" checkbox. That will give you an idea of how much they are selling for, if they are selling at all.

Being the mad-scientist type mindset, I'd just end up using the old VHS tapes to make ferrofluid.

You`ve got Street Sharks!? Is that the big muscly shark dudes with legs that beat the crap out of... crap?

I used to have a street shark action figure. It couldn`t stand because it`s torso and arms were too big.

It's worth quite a bit of cash. If you try getting rid of the entire lot at once you wont get as much cash. Try selling them online via eBay one at a time if you want to maximize your profit.

Yes, people find more worth in various useless things than they do in a collection of equally valuable stuff.

Hey, it'll be worth millions someday. Like freaking Egyptian papyrus or something.
