Of Beaches and Bionicle

Well, for the past week I've been in Nova Scotia, visiting my mum, oma, two brothers, step brother, sister, and stepfather. We live in Wolfville, and today I finally felt up to going out to the beaches.

Now, this area is the one with the highest tides in the world. You know, the ones that are around forty feet high. So the beaches look... alien. Strange plants, oddly worn rocks, etc.

I am so damn happy we went out. I took around thirty pictures, explored around the rocks and such, even as the tide was coming back in. I'll upload the pictures later, but they are awesome. I love it here.

And about the bionicle, heh. I'm a bit of a fan. In fact, I love the stuff. Mainly the storyline. Now, ever since the online game came out, I've longed to have my own Mata Nui stone. You may know of them, the big, smooth, round stones with the faces made out of lines carved into them?

Well, I finally found the place to get them. In fact, I found one stone thats almost a foot and a half tall, as well as some smaller ones, and my plan for the rest of summer is to get them carved.

The pictures are nice. Though when I read the first post I was expecting something a bit more weird.

As for Bionicle, I used to like them. I bought like six or seven of 'em when I was younger. :D

Awesome pics DM. Was it low tide when you were there? The Forest and cliffs in the background on the third picture look fake to me for some reason, like something out of a Fantasy movie.

Yeah, tide was low. Otherwise we would all be under about twelve meters of water.

Ohhh, I've been there (maybe not the exact place in the pictures, but the general area). I live in Dartmouth. The tides are really neat.

Yep. Tide comes up pretty high around here. Its crazy. Hell, a few blocks away from our house here, most of the stuff is below the water line for the area. Would be submerged if it wasn't for the dyke.
