If you could have any animal in the world as a pet which one would you choose, extinct or fictional animals can also be included into your list of choices. I think I'm going to start out with a normal request for a welsh corgi. Small dogs fit my lifestyle because they won't demand much food and I dont exactly live in a mansion.

I agree. A dragon for sure. I have always loved unicorns...I mean I really like how well they attack! But definitely dinosaur or a uni..err..dragon.

Well, I tend to be more of a cat person then a dog person, but I believe I might like to have a domesticated Jackal (kind of like an African/Middle-Eastern coyote). They are excellent hunters and eat more than just meat, I believe.

If I couldn't have that, I would probably want a domesticated Cougar. They are so cute and cuddly, and I could maybe let him ride in my car and take him to work. I love kittens.

NO it would be MY pet so I would fly around on it and let it threaten people and kill them so I get their stuff and sell it on ebay.

IDK, I think we need to redefine the word "pet". Cuz if we're just picking random animals out of the animal kingdom and calling them "pets", that doesn't really follow. If you mean like D&D "animal companion" where you gain some magical control of your pet, I think I've gleaned a little more of the flavor of the debate. If you took a wild animal as a pet, it'd just be a matter of time before he Siegfried and Roy'd your ass, without "magic". And a Sphynx would die after someone answered his riddle. That would suck.

If we're magically controlling animals, I'd take a Tarrasque.
