Why Blizzard? WHY?

Old. I've seen that 2x before this, and a bunch of that info is already out of date.

It wasn't a "new" type dev panel - but mostly a rehash of old information given to us in Paris. WWI wasn't about SC2. ;)

Most of it. Auto-Repair, spreading of the Zerg Creep, the idiotic statement about how nydus canals were underused, etc.

Wow. Even with the supposed "new role" of the Thors... they managed to singlehandedly destroy an entire base. Again.

Fuck you, Blizzard.

Yes, it's quite the *facepalm* moment.

I think the auto-repair sounds a bit... cheesy.
I don't mind the concept of the Thor. I quite like it, to be honest.
Then again, if you have a unit that repairs in the battlefield with a few minerals, then do I sense something amiss with the thought going into the game?

I like the auto-repair ability, but I don't think it belongs solely to the Thor, I think it would be great if it was applied to all Terran ground vehicles. To balance the ability you could alter the amount of resources needed to repair the unit, how long it would take, and how many hit points the wreck would have.

I kind of like that take on it, although I would prefer if people just stuck with bringing a good old SCV with them. Maybe half(or twice) the cost/time of building the actual unit?

Especially since SCV's have auto repair AI now.

"the idiotic statement about how nydus canals were underused"

This is actually an almost undisputible fact. Nydus canals were almost NEVER used in Big Game Hunters maps in pub games, nor on the professional maps. I've also rarely seen it on iccup, or in replays/VODs. What are you talking about?! Seriously ...

The Creep looks like diarrhea coming out of the overlords...

BGH? Psh, don't make me laugh. I see them all of the time in late game ZvP or ZvT. Without them valuable expansions would die. They are growing more and more common. It is usually only seen among gosu players. But it is an important tactic that enables the Zerg army to easily move around the map. They are a valuable asset to late game. It is just that most games don't actually reach late game, let alone the point where nydus canals are used.
If you want an underused unit just look at the Protoss Scout or Zerg Queen.

On the thor:

They should change the animation, or so that it either spits out an mini-SCV to work on it. Right now it looks like it's done by magic.

Animations should be like iron giant (if you saw the ending on that disney movie) The pieces would come back together by themselves.

Plus, by the looks of it, it should cost a hell of a lot of minerals to build, because the way I see it, if someone with good skill could manage his micro properly, he could build and control thors that never die.

Nydus canals get used all the time on bigger maps so that the zerg can more easily defend his 3rd and 4th gas. Download some zerg reps of python and see how often they will use a nydus canal to defend the island expansions.
