Anyone ever been skydiving? Who did you book it through? Would you go again? Stories?
Taking the plunge on Friday. If you don't hear from me by Monday, assume I'm incapacitated. :P
Whooo!

You may not want to read this if this is your first Time.
Just Remeber the US Army Paratrooper theme "Blood on the Risers"
There was blood upon the risers, there were brains upon the chute,
Intestines were a'dangling from his Paratrooper suit,
He was a mess, they picked him up, and poured him from his boots,
And he ain't gonna jump no more
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
Gory, gory, what a hell of a way to die,
He ain't gonna jump no more!

closest I've been to skydiving is bungee jumping from a bridge in the philippines. Anyhow, gl hf, as they say.
eh, my brother got to do it (coincidentally, the skydiver instructor died from a broken parachute two days later), he liked it. He said he got like a rush of adrenaline and he'd do it again but college was being a bitch.

I know a guy who skydives professionally.
He and his team went to some international skydiving competition in france a few years ago, and he broke both of his legs but his team took second place.

I had a good friend go skydiving for his birthday two years ago. I was supposed to go with him but a lack of money (and more importantly, a desire to go) prevented me from going. He had a video made and everything; looked like a hell of a rush. I may go sometime in the future just to cross it off my giant list of things-to-do-before-I'm-too-damn-old.
Have fun dude, and if you get a video / pictures, make sure you post them when you're back.

I so envy you. :P
I know some friends who went skydiving. Had a hell of a time. Only thing that's sort of a downer is that, once you're on the ground, that's it. You either have to wait for the pilot to land so you can take off again or you're done for the day.
Have fun out there though!

6 hours remain...can't say I'm not a bit nervous. Oh the suspense!

Before you jump, have some fun and see what happens when you drop some change from that altitude. Or cats. Or small children.

Have fun! I haven't gone yet but I plan on going when I get back, if you like skydiving, you definantly need to give bungee jumping a try. When I'm on my computer again I'll post some pictures of where I did it.

I'd sure want to try that one someday. The closest thing I did was jump off a 25-ft waterfall... and it was a----weSOME!
Heh, good luck. ;)

Hmmm... I've fallen off a roof once. Luckily I didn't land on any of the rusty machinery lying around. That was a fun day.

Personally I suggest something that has a lot less air resistance, so it's terminal velocity is higher, for instance, 2-3cm Diameter steel ball bearings.

That was badass. I love how you guys are like, awkwardly shuffling to the door of the plane with the instructor pressed up against your ass.

Not sure if you're implying we were scared; I was pretty hyped up to jump. We're strapped ridiculously tight with our instructors. I don't think anyone would be having fun if we went into an uncontrollable vertical dive while tangling ourselves in the stabilizing chute. :D
Or you know, flying off as the force of the chute opening up rips us off our instructor. :P
But yes, it's pretty awkward. :)

Not saying you were scared, I mean how you were physically strapped together with him pressed right up against your ass. Seemed like the kind of thing you might consider "socially awkward"
