How do you change the amount of damage a spell does? I heard it involves changing the weapons called Unknown##, and if that's the case, can someone upload or write up a quick list of which Unknown affects which spell?
Thanks in advanced.

You can't. They're hardcoded. Firegraft might offer SOME opportunities, but don't expect much.

I heard you could change psi storm's damage using some unknown upgrade.

Depends on what spell you want to change. You can change a lot of them in weapons.dat, like optical flare, nukes, EMP shockwave, ect.

No, not in a mod. In a map, using the map editors (SCMDraft, StarForge). I think on Starforge you can do it. I've seen it done before in UMS maps on SC (this one guy managed to make a storm do around 3k damage). I don't mean every spell, just like Storm and such.

Unused upgrade 60 will increase Psi Storm damage. That's the only one, I think.

Or create your own psi storm...
Use another entry and have it deal 3000 bajillion million damage and have the effect to psi storm and splash(radial).

Yeah, that's what I was talking about. BUT...another problem arises! How do I locate the Unused Upgrade 60? I'm looking around in Starforge...and...argh...
Edit: I found it in the upgrades section. Like you said. >_>
But, how would I go about actually doing the damage change? All I see is changing mineral, gas, and time...
Edit2: Another update. Found it in SCMDraft 2, also. In there, it also lets me change the Start Level and Max Level. Just saying.

This just goes to show that TheNomad is only good at modding and not mapping. :P

You just change the start level.

OK I managed to track it down. This is a "bug" (or better said an "undocumented feature").
Apparently it's due to the fact that all techs have a default upgrade set to Upg60 (there is no NONE for upgrades). Also, Psi Storm is the only tech whose damage can be changed without FG (just by using DatEdit). The upgrade simply adds one more blast to the storm. That is, normally instead of 125 damage (14 in DatEdit) it does around 134-something damage and if you set it to 20 in DatEdit it will deal around 160 damage, upgradable to almost 170. (because shields recharge, it seemed around 8).
That's because 125/14 is almost 9, one upgrade being one more blast it deals 134. 160/20 is 8, therefore the upgraded damage is 128.
Interesting ... the more levels, the more bonuses... Also note changing the bonus factor will multiply the added bonus just like for a regular weapon.
This just goes to show that TheNomad is only good at modding and not mapping. :P
Well the question is related to modding :P but in a map. I do admit I forgot Psi Storm's damage can be changed...

What I want to do involves NO MODDING WHATSOEVER. Which means I WON'T be using Arsenal III, DatEdit, Ice OR IceCC and whatnot, you see?
My tools include STARFORGE and SCMDRAFT 2 ONLY.
What I get from your post is that all I have to do is raise the Min/Max Level of the spell and that will increase damage?

Basically, raise the starting level of Unused Upgrade 60 (and the max if needed).

You're welcome, even though I was just saying what everyone else said in half the words.

My post wasn't directed at you, but to others interested in the cause of the effect.
