Say I have 4 goons and there is a trail of mines laid that I want to get past but have no obs. How do you kill the mines before they hit the goons?

Use one to lure and have the others kill. 2 goon hits kill one mine.

Run and hope you only get splash damage.
you move just a tiiiinyyyy bit forward with the goons and instantly press hold position. The thing is, with hold position it will fire just about instantly, so if you didnt rush forward any more than needed, you should be fine with a bit of practise. You need goon range tho.
lan lat helps. gives you more time.

So it's right click to move forward then hold immediately after the right click. I'll try that next time I'm in that situation.
I just tried this in a PvT I had; never done this before, usually if he has mines I just keep my goons at bay until I get obs (usually I get obs fast enough to avoid this situation anyway). But it worked nicely, nice trick ;p

There's a micro tatic, with like 2 goons, and you move them slowly forwards, then pull back even if you don't see the mine, and press "H". and keep doing this tunil u cleared the mine field...

Free's way of doing it. Don't try this at home.

the first poster was correct. You take one goon and move it across.. the other 3 kill the mine while it chases your goon.
The other method is slow and newbie, prone to error and requires range..

Just put two mines right next to each other till they get zealots and obs :) It's pretty hilarious when you see the dragoons scrambel when 5+ mines pop out of the ground.
12+ goons doing what Ahzz said works near perfectly

The mines just get caught on top of eachother and fail. Do as Ahzz says, and you should be just fine.

By the time you have 12 (not exactly sure how you would do it with 12+) goons you should have observers anyway...well, unless you're doing some dt-->fast arb build.

Welcome back Sambo, The Theory Crafter.
both work well. And Cpt.Chronic what I ment was 12+ goons will be able to handle most mines. but yes on first push 4-6 goons can handle mines doing what Ahzz said. luring with one goon does work but can be risky.
