In all honesty, I've only seen the movie. If you wish to take part in this RP, it'd help to have seen the movie (or at least to read the plot of the movie), to get a good idea of what's going on plot centric. It isn't necessary however, since the game will be based entirely on the choices of the players. The sheer amount of danger will also restrict these choices.

Max age: 90
Only race allowed: Human (obviously)
Any Gender

NPCs include every human that isn't a PC and can be influenced by both other NPCs and PCs alike. The map should develop as the players move through the game. Key points have already been established (in my head) and players can gain information either by speaking with NPCs or PCs (if players give good reason to already possess this knowledge) or through self discovery.

Characters must be posted here. Include a backstory that roughly outlines how you might fit into this scenario (setting mainly; the mist exists without reason so it can't be included in backstory). No character may have anything to do with the mist except rough knowledge due to backstory (after my permission). No character can be considered 'responsible' for the mist. Movie spoilers in backstory are allowed.

Other things to include: Physical characteristics and essentials (height, weight, age; characteristics include things such as facial features, misc. items they may be carrying, clothing, ethnicity, etc.). Personality cannot be included in description and must be revealed throughout the RP in character.

Equipment: Your character may only carry two items essential to survival and one small mundane weapon (a weapon that can be aquired locally such as a pocket knife (may be larger depending on career), or a revolver with only a few bullets).

Skills: Skills fit into the character's career. Characters may also have one unrelated skill if they wish. Skills can be anything at all. Unemployed characters may not have 'powerful' skills, but rather unrelated minor skills that wouldn't actually net them a career (that's the best way to word it that I can think of :P).
Skills aren't mechanics, as this is an RP (not an RPG). They merely offer a rough outline of what you are generally confident and capable of doing. Acts that don't fit into a character's list of skills would be things that the character is less confident in doing. This is also measured by the level of obvious difficulty (compare it to real life; ie. a character must clear a 10ft. drop, but they've never had good experience in long jump back in highschool. From this, you can assess that the character might not be too confident in thinking they are capable of the act, and instead may be quite freaked out that they must do it either way. Hence, they could fail unless assisted or unless I'm feeling kind :D).

Final Rule: No godmodding. Your characters are only human. They live in a small town. It isn't everyday a mist filled with nightmares tries to eat everyone.

The book was better. The movie was good, but they ruined the ending. The Mist doesnt go away. It never should.
