Sometimes when I go to change a unit name or message in the string editor, the changes won't save. I'm trying to stack my name (Dem0nS1ayer), but it didn't stack properly, so I went to the string editor to take away one tab, but when I closed the window then opened it again, my name still had 2 tabs next to it!

I've had this same problem a lot before. I think it results from some kind of string corruption, which usually affects my renaming of locations when I double click on them (freezes up on me). Have you tried saving, closing, and reopening the map?

Sometimes I've found that I can't get around the problem so easily without rebooting or something. If that's the case, and you're trying to edit a unit name, do it through the Scenario >> Unit setting unit name box. For some reason that registers changes when the string editor won't.

I usually do edit the names in the unit settings, but my names so long that if I try putting it in twice, it won't fit, so I have to go into the strings editor.

Thats why I use notepad and colors 1.14 the program.

Usually this happens when you try to put colors on the string incorrectly. The editor ends up showing spaces that represents the bitspace taken up by the hexa codes.

Actually, I figured out how to save the string changes. After you finish editing the string, just click on another string, then exit the string editor. When you go back, the string should be saved. :)
