So I made this video of my guild's recent Kael kill. The intro the the movie explains stuff, but if anybody is confused, I can explain later in more detail.

The real point is: what do you guys think? I tried to choose non-suck stuff, or at least things that had novelty value. I'm so sick of hearing Linkin Park or rap for kill vids...so yah.

Input? I'm hoping to make more as soon as I get a chance to see some solid kills. Hopefully our first Bloodboil kill will be among those.

You don't know how happy I was to find my ears not bleeding at the end of the video!
The only song I didn't think fit very well was What is Love, but that's probably because it appeared in the middle of the fight. I thought the way you cut to vent for the congratulations part was nice.

Overall I thought it was pretty well done, but hell, what do I know? ;)

War, I have quite a few add-ons.

The mini-map is called simple minimap, and you can basically make it square, circle, borderless, with borders, etc. It's super easy to configure. The bars are Bartender3, the raid, character, pet, ToT, target, and party frames are all ag_unitframes, which IMO is the best mix of non-resource intensive frames but still extremely customizable.

The buff bars are ElkanoBuffBars, super configurable, really clean, and show actual durations vs. 2hrs remaining BS that default frames do. I use DBM, only because I am used to it and it seems to do the exact same job as any other boss-mod. I see no reason to use anything else.

My damage meter is recount, which I use more as a diagnostic to test various setups vs. actually flexing my epeen. I use Prat chat mod, which is the greatest thing ever. There's a few other things, such as TipBuddy (tooltips) various art libraries, etc. On the bottom is FuBar with the various add-on stuff set up on the bottom, including MoneyFu, which I love for tracking spending and helping me know when I've spent WAY too much money. (This past week I've been raiding and have leveled enchanting from 1-365 mostly just buying mats, and have gone through over 6000 gold since last Friday.)

The real pearl, and what makes me love my UI so much, is the art behind my bars/minimap, etc. That's from Discord Art library, which lets you load and configure various art to act as backdrops to mods.

If you want this collection, I use a heavily modified version of TaeoUI, basically with individual settings made to be the way I likes them. You can download the complete package here, and just follow the instructions: http://www.wowinsider.com/2007/07/30/reader-ui-of-the-week-taeo/

One thing I should point out is that this setup is EXTREMELY resource intensive. I turned my UI off one day and gained almost 20 FPS in raid settings. The fact is, however, that I function much more in a raid environment running 25-30 FPS with this UI than 50 FPS with default WoW UI. Also, many of the elements can lead to screen clutter, a problem that I don't face since I have a 22" flatpanel monitor, running at 1680x1050 resolution. On a smaller resolution, one might find him/herself with a more cluttered UI or having to sacrifice some things to make it all fit.

Oh ya, let's not forget Scrolling Combat Text. Best mod I have, besides Omen and DBM.

Good players make it look easy. There's a lot going on, and there are more challenges to downing Kael than just having enough bodies. Try organizing a Mag / Kara / Gruul, and you'll get the idea.

You've got to admit though, meeting the number of players required is pretty important =P

I suppose along with enough people I should specify enough people who know wtf they are doing. just in case the fickle wow gods want to screw with me.

Thanks for the comments guys.

Also, expect more vids soon. Monday we're going into BT before reset and hopefullying getting our firsts (as a guild) on Bloodboil and ROS. I'm DEFINITELY recording ROS because that's one of my favorite fights, and I'll probably have a bloodboil vid just for shits and giggles.

H MGT is the hardest 5 man in the game. You can't really just grab some friends and go raid Kael's house. You need to have good CC (Mage / Hunter / Warlock / Rogue) and use it every time. You also can't afford a lot of mistakes with CC, or you'll wipe quickly. The epic quality items in the instance are basically the best available, so it's well worth the run.

The first boss is basically a DPS test, to see if you're wasting your time with the rest of the Instance. The second boss is a healer's test. The third boss is a communication and focus test. The fourth boss has elements of all three previous bosses.

My personal best was a 53,575 damage Pyroblast from Kael.

IDK man. You ask a lot of obvious questions and you've made several bad assumptions about the game in the past. I don't really trust your assessment of "noob" in the hardest 5 man in the game. There simply is little room for error, and it doesn't matter if you're in all Tier 6 and make dumb mistakes.

I've watched a guy in 4/6 Tier 6 back into another group and pull them because he wasn't paying attention. I've had people tell me to Banish a Succubus. I've watched people try to Sap on third boss, or people hanging out by the tank when he pulls. I've seen people start DPS before the tank can LoS mobs. There are tons of little things to pay attention and remember. Lapses in concentration wipes in HMGT.

We did Void Reaver, Al'ar, and Astromancer yesterday. I was underwhelmed by how easy those bosses were. Only Al'ar has a little bit where he does the flame quills, otherwise the entire fight is beyond easy. I think we should just say fuck it and do BT.

Only Al'ar has a little bit where he does the flame quills, otherwise the entire fight is beyond easy. I think we should just say fuck it and do BT.BT and Hyjal are similarly underwhelming. That is, in fact, why many guilds in BT/MH now were 3/4 TK and 5/6 SSC: Vashj/Kael are ridiculous cockblocks to bosses that are ridiculously easy to start out Hyjal.

Most of the bosses are one-trick ponys, where X element of your raid is tested more than others. I.E. Healers on Naj'entus/Rage, situational awareness is tested on Supremus/Archimonde, DPS is tested on Kaz'rogal/Teron. etc.

However, once you get to Bloodboil/ROS you see where the real cockblocks are. After that, assuming you get your SR gear, it's cruise control to Illidan.
