Hey, I'm a newb mapper so... can anyone tell me how to work dropships to where I can have them spawn from a side of the map and then proceed to a different location; it may sound strange but when I tryed it on my own they would not budge instead they sat at spawn point.

Something like in Episode IV: Quest for the Uraj or in Episode I: Desperate Alliance

where they spawn and then move, help would be appriciated. :)

Use the action "Order" to make them move from the spawning location to the location on the other side of the map? If that's what you did, then maybe you should post the map.

Sort of a tangent question, but is there a way to get Dropships (shuttles/overlords) to start with units in them? I know you can run the AI script to load units into transports over land, but I'm wanting my transports to start in the middle of space/sea and be user controlled. I want to say this is do-able, but I'm not positive.

No, you can't do that. You can create the dropships and units at a location, and use the "Enter Transport" AI Script and then move the dropship to the area that you want it to be at.

ok, thx for dropship help, it makes me feel weird having to ask for help on a subject pretty simple but, once again, I have another problem; the player colors seem to randomize, kinda like as if it was a melee map

Sorry for double posting but I can't edit my post anymore and I wanted to put up my map to see if u can find the problem, it is simply a dummy map that I created to play with Dropships and scripts. The "story" or briefing is that it's a combat simulation so that's why the name is what it is.

Uncheck randomize start locations under forces.

It's easy as pie. :) In fact there are two choices for this. If, for one, you want the interior of the transports to be seen then you must create those vessels over ground with the units you want and then load'em. Then you move those ships onto the very spot where you want your cinematic to start with.
If on the other hand you don't want or care if the units inside the vessels aren't seen then other option is to start your cinematic and at the unloading point create those units with the correspondent unloading sound drawn from the game's *.mpq's. The sound thing can be done with SCMDraft 2 or with SCFreeSounds along with SCXE/StarEdit.

I thought about suggesting the second option, but it's too complicated to really be worth it. It's the same effect.

I do the second one when using the AI script doesn't work.... :concern:

You mean the problem with the transports unloading every chance they get? That can be solved by giving the dropships to a neutral player.

Ding, ding ding! We have a winner ladies and gentlemen.
And to keep it neat (or professional :P) just recall to give the neutral player the same colour that the AI has, Dem0n'. ;)
