I need help! I downloaded SCXE which is like a starcraft map editor and then I downloaded it and all. When I click launch a screen pops up on which mode you would like to use. I click classic mode and nothing pops up and I've waited for 30 mins. I think i should update it so I clicked the update shortcut and only when I click Update to start it, it says: Cannot find INI file. Can anyone hlep me on what I should do?

How about you... Download SCMDraft 2, which is a superior editor, and doesn't usually give annoying problems like that.

No shit about it being more complex, either. It's not. You don't need 20 different modes to use it properly, and you just don't have to touch what you don't understand.
Stickman', are you sure to have the BW expansion installed? And when I got SCXE (v2.6) from its main site eons ago, when I initially clicked on it it simply unpacked 3 installation files which I later on had to double click to set up on my PC. And imo, you don't need to install all of its modes, just the Classic, P12 and Special ones. ;)
Although keep in mind to get its fix so it'll run with bigger trigger windows along with some other improved stuff.
And Durandal, even though I agree with the fact that SCMDraft 2 is far better than SCXE it probably is better for newcomers onto mapping to get used to SCXE first after leaving StarEdit since their interface is pretty much alike and then proceed to SCMDraft 2 when they get the hang of SCXE. That's how I did anyway. :)
