I'm still pretty noob (D/D- iCCup), and I'm looking for someone to train me. My main race is Terran, and my APM is around 160 if you care. Is anyone willing to help me out?

Edit: Wow...I made a typo in the title....

lol lots of people starting think APM matters alot (lol so did I) which it doesnt. I would be very surprised if you had 160 natural APM and you could still even consider yourself D-

Anyway Ill play with you in TvP (im P) if you want i play P in PvT and I play T in TvP so I can play against you and help you. Anyways im not perfect im 17-13 right now D+ =/ im sure there are better T players on these forums

Lol, well, my APM basically means, "I can comfortably move as fast as 160 actions per minute, whether those actions be efficient, useful, or correct." :D

Should I add you as FwB.PaiN?

I always roll my eyes whenever I see someone who is not even a steady D on iCCup yet have like, 200 apm. They must have their workers doing some sick synchronized dance half the game to be clicking so much and accomplishing so little.

Meh, I dunno. I like to move fast because I think it helps me think fast. If I just sit and watch my scv's mine, I get lazy and start turning my head to watch TV, lol.

I'm not really fit for training, but I'll spar with ya, i've been wanting to get back into melee for sometime now and if i play random melee's i get those cracked out asian kids that i dont ahve a chance in hell at beating :(.
Never been on iCCup though.

I'm known as TaelZenith, East or west?

Why not ask Ahzz for some training?

Like in his replay thread? I thought about it, but I got the impression that you were supposed to have a specific area you want to improve in and i just want to get better in general.

Im good enough to throttle my friends, but once i get to the serious players i start to crumble :(

um no. I just tell them the mistakes they make in general. Improving 1 area at a time is useless. If I said 'improve you unit handling or economy', it means that of course you need to improve everything, but ESPECIALLY concentrate on that specific thing because it's bringing you down.

As to answer this thread what we've seen so far, 80 apm is enough to get C/C+. The fact that you're D/D- with 160 means that you are doing a shitload of useless clicks which disturb your game most likely more than helps. Do not doubt. Well, now that you're used to it, it might help you, but if you want to improve faster and get better, dont even glance a SINGLE TIME at your apm for 500 games. don't even think about it. Because the more you do, the slower will you improve.

Even my average APM isn't 160 (its a bit less) and I can play at B+/A- level

It's very hard to find a dedicated trainer, someone who will tell you all the mistakes you make, and someone who will discuss strategy, counters, build orders with you. Actually, that improves you the most, not playing. If someone has huge amount of talent and motivation AND ESPECIALLY a trainer, they can become B- in half a year.

Naturally I can work as your 'trainer' through my replay thread. It will help, though not as much as a good dedicated trainer.

Thanks, Ahzz. I'll take your advice and disable the APM tracker in Chaos Launcher.

But that's pretty much what I'm looking for, lol: someone to tell me all the mistakes I make, discuss strategy, BO's, etc, etc. I used to have someone like that, but I think they quit SC...so yea.

If nothing else you could look around for a clan to join. Some clans actually help with this stuff.

And watch n+1 reps, and play n+2 competitive 1v1 games. :)
