View Full Version : Quick Question(s)

So I have a quick question, and I really see no reason this thread can't be used for others' quick questions too.

My question:

So Warlocks have a talent in the Destruction tree that gives up to a +5% bonus to spell crit rating for Destruction spells. Is this calculated in the main window crit total? Because honestly it looks like it isn't, but I could be wrong.

Why does this matter? Because Darkmoon Card: Wrath is more valuable the less crit rating you already have, and a 5% difference can basically make or break its value for me. If you mouse over spell damage or crit rating, it shows you the crit for each school of magic (ice, fire, arcane, etc.), but not for each spec in your char (destruction, demo, affliction).

Thoughts?

You are right, it doesn't list it on the character info since the window wasn't designed to list the crit chance of each spell but for overall crit of a school of magic. However it obviously does add 5% crit to any of your destruction spells. You could consider using the DrDamage addon which adds additional info to the tooltip of each spell which helps.

Here's a link to the DrDamage addon if you are interested and it also has a nice example on the page. http://www.wowace.com/wiki/DrDamage

I've got SW Stats, but I'm thinking about changing damage meters, too. There's just entirely too much bullshit to sort through, and too many unrelated submenus. Heals per second? What the hell? I was looking for a damage meter, not a raid monitor.

I need to get something that records my records, too. That's a lot of fun, and I still can't believe my 7.1k shadowbolt crit is lost to time. :(

If you have fu-bar Gen you can download an addon called top score fu. It will keep a standard and crit hi-score.

Ew. I don't like Helpy Helperton addons that are basically giant Bonzi Buddies. Things that automate processes to make downloading and updating "easier" inevitably eat up huge chunks of memory and are clunky, grabby programs. I want a plug-in, not a huge plug-in for other plug-ins. X_X

Whats better for a rouge? Assasination combat or subtiety? For both raids/bgs/pvp?

I'm thinking of assasination cuz there you have to use 2 daggers in order to mutilate, but still do quick damage.

I'm not realy experienced with combat or subtiety rouges :/

Not to be a smartass or anything, but there isn't a build for any character that is the "best" at both pve and pvp.

Usually it's best to focus on one or another, not both, or you'll likely fall on your ass.

GA's right, fubar sux

Sub Rogues are best for PvP, they have high survivability and decent damage.

Combat Rogues are best for PvE, they have high consistent damage.

Assassination Rogues are fun builds that zap out huge crits, but do pretty much nothing else.

Since I cant have always the best dagers for mutilate, then I'l turn to subtiety then.

Next pvp warrior,Arms furry or prot?

Fury has worked wonders for my warrior. Good old fashioned 17/44/0 build

For warriors and pvp here are the builds as follows. Also go to www.arenajunkies.com

43/15/3
33/25/3
33/28/0

fury is good for certain situations. Like maybe if you have a MS warrior already.

Yeah, I'll have to agree that Arms makes the Warrior. Second Wind and slight spec into Fury means that any Rogue that tries to fuck with you is going to turn into a messy spill. Of course, the Frost Mage is GG, but c'est la vie. Better to be an Arms Warrior than a Holy Priest. Ha ha, I still laugh.

HAHA. You said that right. Warrior vs Mage= GG haha.

Warrior vs. Frost mage is still less GG than mage vs. SL warlock. :P

I always thought Paladin vs. Rogue was pretty funny to watch. Rogues didn't stand a chance. :D Is it still like that?

Not to be nit picky (hell who am I kidding) but it's rogue.

Anyway, Arms are definitely awesome versus Rogues but for PvE the classic Fury build is the best.

QED, you fail at both classes.

The few times I pvp'ed with my pally, I stayed back to heal cause it's easier for me xD

And I never took my rogue to AV, so yea.

Yes, Rogues get demolished by Pallies. Plate + healing + bubble means that the Rogue is pretty much fucked. The Pally can Consecrate and wait for the Rogue who either has to pop CloS to get the opener or simply skip the opener. If he does pop CloS to get the opener the Pally can still heal through most of his damage until CloS wears off. Then it's time for Ret rape with huge stuns and DoTs to show the Rogue who's boss.

But if you like fish in a barrel, try watching a Rogue vs. a Mage / Priest. It's just cruel.

I'm looking for a good and user friendly mage ui that isn't going to cost a lot of memory...any suggestions?

Priest
,excelent in a arena team or something else?

GenocideAlive

A UI for mages? IDK if you really need a UI for mages until you get really high level and advanced play, even then it's mostly up to you. My recommendation would be to get Natur Enemy Cast Bar, which gives you timers for all your spells and enemy spells used on you. If you plan on raiding, get Deadly Boss Mods. If not, you should probably check into macros as opposed to downloading UIs. The interface really isn't as important as the custom keystrokes.

And War, Discipline / Holy Priests are really in demand in arena play, but they tend to be a lot more passive than a lot of the other classes. You do a lot of running, bubbling, healing, and mana burning.

I thought that having a priest in the arena team would be a bad idea.Since the first target will be the healer.

Then I gota heal him etc etc.
I'm thinking of making a 2v2 arena team.Me and a retri pally
This way we could stun the healer so long that we can kill him. Then the dps/tank would be easy
Or a hunter maybe,I'm done with raids right now.Now my aim is arena gear

If you are a priest. Priest/rouge and Priest/warlock are probably your two best bets. Although I am sure a ret pally with its burst is nice. Plus he could bubble you if needed. You would also be able to get a druid team because his judgment of justice. Rouge is probably one of the best with priest because there massive dps survivabilty and they can help you with stun loks and slowing effects on them. I went to 1900 with rouge in 2v2 then his wife got in car accident and we havent play together since. Just talk on the phone now.

GenocideAlive

That was really random.

Anyway, disc priest and Rogue do really well. Everybody expects the other team to go for the Priest, it's a matter of how skilled the Priest is at avoidance and timely heals. Plus, you generally pick someone that has good control, like a Rogue or a Warlock.

Yea pallys ftw
I made a 2v2 arena team "Holy hand of god" XD
I'l inv only pallys.I already know 2 good retris
Then we will see how god we are :)
Maybe I'l post a video,if I get the right tools
