Im a newbie just trying to make a melee map wich features special buildings like the "stacis cell" but when I test the map the special buldings disappear. I have scmdraft2 and starforge2, the map is made in scmdraft2. I tried placing them as "sprites" in scmdraft2 and they do appear in the map when i test it but their just like a hallucination and units can walk right through them. I want them to be like normal buildings beeing able to block things and beeing destructable. Anyone know how to place them?

Sprites are basically images that have no affect on gameplay other than their looks. They're normally used for stuff like treetops (experiment with regular doodads to understand exactly how it normally works).

If you want them to block the way, edit the terrain under them into unwalkable terrain. It doesn't matter what type of terrain, you could use water, cliffs, or whatever, but it would be best to use a terrain that would blend well on the edges so that it would look natural.

Yeah that solves the blocking part. But I want the terrain to be passable. I want it to work in the same way as the power generators do on Othello. (Link: http://data.fuskbugg.se/skalman01/Power%20generators.JPG) If a player destroys them they are supposed to be able to walk where the special building once stod. I want it to work exactly like a normal building.

I think that assigning the buildings to player 12 would work! I can't try it because I'm not on my PC, but this should solve the problem.

Ok. Go to sprites section, then go to UNIT sprites. That's important as it's the only way to get the unitlike sprites. You can then choose from any unit in SC. Personally, this didn't work once when I tried it so I've never really used it but for everyone else, it will probably work. Btw the sprites aren't aligned on the grid but in the centre of the grid so instead of the corners of buildings fitting the corners of grids, they fit the middle of a grid square.

If that doesn't work, just place the buildings for p12, place a start location for p12, and play the game in ums.

That worked just the way I wanted it to! Thx a lot =)
