View Full Version : Mouse Speed
I set my mouse speed as fast as it can go in the Control Panel, but it still isn't fast enough. Is there any way I can make it faster? Is there an application I can download? Or do I have to buy a better mouse?
If I DO have to buy a better mouse, does anyone have any suggestions?
Thank you. :)

Well... I don't know. My mouse is at the max speed in the control panel and it is just fine. Did you adjust mouse acceleration as well?
usually the speed you can change from the control panel is plenty, however, you might want to try downloading the correct mouse drivers. The drivers may have came along as a cd when you bought the mouse, or in some cases you can also download them from the producers webpage, (for example, logitech). You will be able to change mouse accelration, speed etc there too so you should gain a bit 'extra speed' from there if you wish
I just have the standard mouse that came with my HP computer. I think I'm going to buy a better mouse with good DPI.
Also, I noticed if I uncheck "Enhance pointer precision," the mouse goes a lot faster. But it goes faster even when you just nudge the mouse. I only want the mouse faster at higher speeds, otherwise it's too hard to select things like workers precisely... :(

I have that on as well. My mouse speed is ludicrus, but hey, I got used to it and my speed in StarCraft is much higher.

Wait...you have it "on"? Did you mean that you have it unchecked as well?
I play with the mouse speed at full and the enhance pointer precision unchecked and its not too fast

I think that only control panel max speed is terribly slow. You can either buy better mouse or then dl www.iccup.com iccup launcher which allows you to use extra quick mouse while playing sc.

Pointer precision is checked. And my mouse acceleration is at max. Thats blazing speed.

Max speed is too slow? Damn, you guys are ninjas.
Eh. It seems fast at first but after like 10 minutes your used to it and I figure that if you can use a fast mouse just as well as a slow mouse there must be some advantage =P

Optical mice adjust to fullest acceleration or max speed goes faster than your eyes. What's the problem with that?

You know, you can always adjust your monitor's relsolution to the lowest setting. Then your mouse speed will increase like shit
But then when you get into starcraft it doesnt matter because starcraft has a fixed resolution...

Ahh, so that's why you made this thread in the StarCraft discussions.
Do this:
max out your mouse speed
max out the StarCraft screen scroll speed
now, ftw. you can't complain. that's way fast. ;)

Depends on his type of mouse, optical mice are faster than trackball.
Personally if you plan on gaming or even just playing a few games to win optical is much better than trackball. For typing and emailing etc it doesnt really matter but the price difference is so small that just grab an optical
