Magmaniac's Lord Of The Rings Diplomacy

I already have a map I made for a private game I was planning on hosting a while back that fell through. With the summer coming up in a couple weeks I will be able to devote more time to it, so turns could be pretty fast.

The current map is pretty big, it supports I think ten players, but I can modify it for more or less depending on how much interest is shown.
The current playable "countries" are:

Umbar/Harad
Mordor
Gondor
Rohan
Isengard
Lothlorien
Rhun
Angmar
Shire
Grey Havens/Rivendell


I figured that since the diplo forum merged into the RP forum, I would see if I can gain some interest from some new people who haven't played much diplo before. The LOTR setting should make it more fun for some people, and allow players to RP a bit more than normally in diplo games. So if you haven't played diplo before and want to try it out, here's a good chance because hopefully this game will be filled with new diplo players. :D

So, post if you are interested, how often you would want turns to be, any general thoughts, etc. I am thinking right now about having turns due every two or three days.

I've never done a diplomacy before, and I don't know much about how it works, but it sounds fun and would definately help me with my RP skills. So if you'd be fine teaching as well as playing, I can try and make it.

Also, if a fair amount of activity is required for Diplo, then I may not be able to jump into this until after May 20th-ish. Finals for Spring Semester are then.

Turns will be every 3 days. Retreats, and builds, will be due after one day.

A few things about the map:
-Certain powers have a "capital" home center. This is a space that when controlled by that power, is worth two supply, but when controlled by any other, is only worth one.
These locations are: Barad Dur (Bad) for Mordor, Minas Tirith (Mti) for Gondor, Edoras (Edo) for Rohan, Orthanc (Ort) for Isengard, and Carn Dum (Cdu) for Angmar.
-There are some red connection lines between spaces on the board, these represent mountain passes, or bridges. They can only be used by armies, not fleets.
-There are different types of water territories, ocean and river. I have differentiated them by having the ocean territories marked with letters, and the river territories marked with numbers. Fleets may move normally in ocean territories, but in river territories, a fleet can move two spaces on one turn, IF it is moving downstream only.
-A fleet cannot move from 6 to 7 without support or by moving to For or Sge first because there is a waterfall there. A fleet CAN move from 7 to 6 normally though, if there is a bounce at 6 in that situation, the fleet will be destroyed.
-You can build armies and fleets in any open supply center you own during the build phase, not just home centers.

I know this is some of you's first time playing diplomacy, and I wish you guys good luck. If you need a tutorial of the basics, the one at http://ry4an.org/diptutor/ is pretty well done I think. It gives you a basic run down of all the moves, unit placement rules, etc. although it obviously uses the standard map and not the one we are using here.

The first spring orders will be due on Friday night, I can make the map as soon as I get all the orders though.

yes, the most downstream point is where it connects to the ocean or sea of rhun. It would be impossible to move 21->nur->20 on one turn because nur is an ocean not a river, and 20 would be moving upstream anyways.

you should move your fleet as well like down the river to another SC. moving downstream nets you two moves intead of just one move in a turn

With the issues plaguing this game since it's start I think we might as well call it quits.
