I've enabled the reputation system here at WB, after some debate and minor change to how the system itself works.

We've disabled negative reputation, and as such, we ask you only award posters you feel have posted deservingly in some fashion, and add a comment to that effect.

You can add to a user's karma by clicking the new image on the postbit.. next to the report post image, in the lower left hand corner of each post.

We'll have a custom image, and probably new karma images added soon.

I see that now..not that i wanted to but the button for checking your karma and reporting positive karma for someone else was the same so it seemed a bit weird to compliment yourself and i didn't want to check if that was the case ;)

you get karma when other people rate your post as 'good'. there isn't a 'bad' rating around, for other people than staff.

But it's still not a complete explanation. I think AJ just didn't pay attention to the fine details of calculating karma when he coded it in, so he can't tell us. Or maybe if we knew how it worked, there would be some easy way to exploit it ;)


Anyways, be very liberal when giving out karma. Now I'm not asking for any, I could care less to see a green square grow on my computer (I already have enough mold growing on it), but if you want it to work, you should not wait until you see an uber-awesome post to give this guy karma. Think about it, you are only giving him 2 points or so. Your one vote of karma isn't going to change the world...Active posters should give out at least 3-4 karma per day, I plan to give out at least that much.

It changes, but the Admins are being all secretive about it so you'll just have to up someone's karma to see the higher levels. I only know that the next karma level is 50, which someone should reach sooner or later (we have two members on 31 at the moment).
