I'm sort of getting into StarCraft again with a friend of mine, but there's a problem when we get on B.net. Both our computers are running off of wireless networks, and when we try to make a game, the other cannot join because of high latency.

My question: Is there a way join a game made by someone whose computer is connected through a wireless network?? And if so, could someone please tell me how??
Thanks a lot guys.

That doesn't fix latency issues. It only fixes the lag issue that some people with routers have when gaming with more than one other person.

Anyway, what I recommend is just a quick little fix you can do while on b.net. One of you join a public game and have the other person follow. Once you are both in the same game lobby, exit the lobby and one of you create a game asap. The other should be able to join at this point. If not, try it again and have the other person make this time.

Can you join games?

If you can, this may be a problem with your firewall rejecting foreign IP's from port 6112 (in other words, IP's from the players wanting to join your game).

Open port 6112, both TCP and UDP, in any and every firewall you have running.
Add Starcraft to your firewall's trust policy.

If that doesn't work, try port forwarding.

If you can't join games, then your connection is just plain crappy.

Don't forget to open in any hardware firewalls that may have come with your router too.

does the "port forwarding trick" work for hosting a 8 players game??? this is my case, my cousins are out of the country and they are using an internet connection not as good as the one I have in US and they have original CD-Keys. I have tried to host games for many players (they are able to enter to my game :)) but it gets really slow and everybody just leave the game, what is this, lagging?? or I have to change something in port forwarding to host a 8 players game??

This is because of more then routers,it is due to your cousins, the distance, and possibly someone lagging in game that isn't you or your cousins.

Quick question. I have two comps running off of the same router, both wired, directly next to each other. Every so often me and my friend will play together. LAN is perfect. Battle.net is perfect if it is only us, but once another player joins the lag is incredible. Now im wondering if there is anything I can do because I no its not to much for my router because about 6 months ago another said friend wanted me to try WoW and we had WoW on both computers next to each with no latency spike. :P

So, any solutions :/
